    Hello Jason, a fine project and a good way of using up mechanical hard drives!👍👍

      @laurencejohnson4106 Hi Laurence, I needed a new case for my file server, so this one did nicely!

      @@RememberThisTech Hello Jason, that case appears to be of decent quality and it should be an interesting build video, do the drives have to be set up in that raid zero or whatever it's called?

    • @RememberThisTech

      @laurencejohnson4106 Good question. Raid 1 at the very least to insure fault tolerance. With different and higher Raid levels one can lose one or more drives and not lose data. Just put in a new drive and the array can rebuild itself

      Yep! Antec makes a great product! Good to hear yours is still running strong! Wow the Noctua NH-D15 is pretty big glad it fits well in the case :)

    How are the thermals in this case if doesn’t seem to have a lot of airflow loaded it with drives does this case run hot?

      I have 5 hdd an nvme primary boot drive and a ssd. Running an i7 8700k. Fans on low and haven't had an issue with heat or fan ramping up. But I am not streaming content or taking my server much during the day. Guess it depends on if your load you bays up and tax it a lot.

      I have 8 disks mounted and the fans on low to keep the noise down. The disks are typically around 45 degrees C when doing constant read/write. Its a bit in the high end, but its durable. With fans on high speed it reduces the temperature by approx. 5 degree C. Ambient temperature ref. of 20 degree C. All the disks are 7200 rpm.

    How much clearance does it have for a GPU, will a 300mm GPU fit in it.

    • @RememberThisTech

      Max GPU Length, ≤ 270mm (With HDD Tray) ≤ 450mm (W/o HDD Tray) ; Max CPU Cooler Height, ≤ 180mm ; PSU Support, ≤ 290mm ...

    8x3.5" bays. Almost just enough for my Steam library.

    • @RememberThisTech

      @itstheMR Lmao. With a fast enough network and raid array one can now map a steam game drive to a server that houses the steam games...

    I have found that I prefer Jellyfin to plex, and spinning discs are the right choice for video servers. I ended up buying a sas card and putting some cheap sas drives in my pc. The cost of used sas drives is just ridiculously low compared to sata. Recently switched cases to the vengeance c70 for the handles. My PC is just getting too damn heavy. The p101 looks nice though.

    • @RememberThisTech

      I've heard a lot of other people are switching to jellyfin. One of my friends got a sweet deal on some high capacity SAS drives and a SAS raid controller card.. I may be on the the lookout for the same! Thanks again!

      @@ItIsNot1984 I shall certainly try. Right now it's got to do 3 things, flie server, plex or jellyfin and Video capture for the channel. The capture software might only work in windows so I may have to dual boot it ;( Still figuring everything out.

      @@RememberThisTech Personally I'm not using linux at all right now, but when I did I found there was usually a workaround for everything. A lot of the time it was running a virtual machine. If you decide to dual boot, you got a 5.25" bay. Can always use it to physically swap boot discs. I just like physically switching and not having to mess with grub or whatever. Just be sure to do your windows and linux installs with only the OS disks plugged in so that the installers don't sneak files elsewhere - especially with windows. I'm not sure if any linux distros do that or not, but windows certainly does.

      Jellyfin let you browse the librarys by folders not only by the hot mess of titles, thats the best feature IMO. Besides that its free. I use Jellyfin on unraid which works nicely.
