    Had to come back to this, after memorising every tip from a few years ago, it's so easy to forget the main points. (The basics are often in the detail. But the essentials can never be underestimated.)
    I have just upgraded to a Focuswong dual chomper, the one with the beam-splitter as standard, and I had forgotten your tips on loudness - pure gold. Thanks so much again, just for being there for the likes of us.
    You are a "sung" hero.

      Still on Focuswong? You're just embarassing yourself, mate. Bloody amateurs.

      @@philreynolds8464 Well, to be fair, I had the Prepenis Amulator, that one had 117 mono outputs but no stereo hold or backlog finishers, so I sold it. Then I bought the Mucktoo "Nancy Chicken". That one had great dark filtration but I could never get it to sync with my micro-popcorn.
      So yeah, I have been "around the block" somewhat before I got the Focuswong.

    Your top shelf stays up, midriff goes unloved, but the waveform's still nostalgic. Sorry, I really can't take this tutorial at all seriously - it sounds like he knows what he's talking about, but I tried to follow his techniques, and I ended up with an oscilloscope up my arse, which is downright dangerous. Also, and this is really weird, every time it gets to the bit where the really good stuff starts, i.e., the 5 tips on how to make my mixes snap, crackle and rock, my copy of the interwebnet goes down. How am I ever going to be able to make really good sounding records if I can't access the relevant bullfrogs in this onion bag?

      That's because this is satire. He doesn't say anything the whole time. Just mumbles.

    0:42 thank you for going into detail with the technique. It's subtle in the mid range (TH-cam audio compression) but it really is a game changer. Thank you for letting it play out a bit so we could hear it. Also, your analog devices, I saw a TH-cam video about the TLC but they didn't go into the settings. Any odds of a follow up video with your favorite analog gear?

      How can you possibly think this is satire? If it was, he would never be allowed to use plugouts by Clive Dice at Satan City Sound Sound.

    • @joseonate111
      @joseonate111 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I feel like you are missing the point. Take a closer look at the techniques. Since I watched this tutorial I've been far more effective at squashing the spectacular to accentuate the vibe, and my tracks are feeling more nostalgic than ever. It bothers me when people attack youtubers for their style before taking the time to understand and apply the techniques. I for one find it refreshing that Woody is so open sharing his ideas instead of toning it down for fear of what some might say.

    This is satire, obviously. You're not meant to follow his incoherent instructions. "Mixes might smell well..." Go watch Knobs Hell "Modular Basics" video for an even more comical tutorial.

    • @russhughes8631
      @russhughes8631 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      "This is satire, obviously" you sound unsure. And having to state it is kind of missing the point.

    • @vaspers
      @vaspers 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That horrible accent gets in the way of seeing how tongue-in-cheek it is, I guess. I am not "unsure". I'm totally sure he's a prankster. Can't you see that?
      Talks too fast. Is that all just part of his "schtick"? Very unpleasant. But good for him for trying to be silly.

  • @brolovelace3506
