One little bit i love is when the captain is warming up to Sasha, he gets a sweatshirt with a cat face on it. Which feels like the kind of thing a dad who insists they dont need a cat would do
The boat cat sasha arc was super random but i always loved it, its so cute. Reaaaally wish she would’ve stayed with the captain in the end, like you say, her reasoning for leaving is pretty confusing - beyond the story needing a reason to have hawk and moth in the clans Would be funny if the boatman had a river-drive by riverclan and sasha could just drop them off that way instead LOL
I think the line about how two-legs won't stick around forever is supposed to give us the reason why she wants to leave her perfect life, but they certainly undermined it right away by showing how the capitan doesn't force her to do anything, so she can do and go as she pleases. If the capitan was forcing her to stay inside at all times then she could think how she needed to run away so her kits won't need to go through the same hardships as her when Ken left, but like this? The plot is at best not clear and at worst confusing And the whole pannel looks great as always! The human looks very good as well, I'm surprised to see it turn out so well after you said you had your doubts lol, it's awesome!
This definitely feels like a case of developing a few new ideas for what Sasha is about in a new context, but then being forced to put things back to line up with the main line series. It's fine to have a character that prefers living a life with the Twolegs, but this trajectory of Sasha's story doesn't really make sense to where she's choosing to raise her children in the woods and leave them with Riverclan in the main books. I just think this idea should've been saved for a new cat, and keep Sasha's independence while maybe giving her some better reasons why she likes being a loner in the woods.
I understand the difficulty of drawing a human being. I really do. And I don't mean to be disrespectful. But I found it rather funny how you drew the boatman giving Sasha the peace sign 😂
My school library had this, Untold Stories, Forgotten Warrior, and The Last Hope. This was the very first warriors book I ever read, bc a comic about cats was super cool! I really like how Sasha saves the sailor, it’s very cute.
This book holds a special place in my heart. Because it is THE first Warriors book I’ve ever read. I borrowed it from my school library, and my fascination with Warriors started from there.
My best guess on why Sasha leaves is because she's too happy and comfortable, sometimes after a traumatic time you try to keep yourself in a worse state because at least then you know what to expect, so it's possible having others in her life that she cared about worried her and she wanted to go back to something she wouldn't have to worry about changing. Do I think that's what the authors had in mind? No, but I do think that's the best explanation for this. Also spoilers but if I remember correctly next book she tries to find tigerstar, which doesn't debunk this at all as again she could be trying to go back to a predictable yet bad state of life.
The thing you said about "Housefolk can't stick around forever" is especially sad because in a lot of cases they do stick around forever. (At least to the cat). Most cats get adopted by young people who want a house cat or because their kids do, and a cat's life expectancy is much shorter than a human one. Sasha just so happened to be adopted by an older couple and their time ran out long before hers. The Captain is also an older man, whether she knows that or not, and being the celebrity she is, she and her kittens would've gotten homes pretty quickly if something happened to him. But being a cat, she doesn't realize this, and all she knows is that "Housefolk can't stick around forever." I'm not saying older people shouldn't have cats or dogs, just to be clear, just that these things do happen, be it to age, sickness or accidents.
I thought the capt came out nice! The whole page has lovely colors and a comfortable feel. As for Sasha's motives, I think the disappointing answer is the writers just needed her to end up taking Hawk and Moth back to Riverclan and they didn't set up the narrative well to support that outcome.
Hot take: Both this manga and Long Shadows made me I realize that I prefer the stuff that happens outside of the clans' conflicts and drama. I find the travel arcs (when they actually get their destinations) and interactions outside the clans much more exciting than any generic relationship drama or run-of-the-mill interclan conflict. I don't know if it's because the writing is better, or because it's a change of pace from the repetitive conflicts. Or it could be because I just want more loose adventure and wholesome moments from the series instead of constant hostility, toxicity, and tension that comes from being trapped with the clans. As fumbled as Sasha's motives may be in this arc, at least it makes you feel for her.
Unlike many others in the fandom I always think that Goldenflower and Tigerclaw never were mates, probably she just breed with diferent warriors wherever she wanted to be a mother. Well swiftpaw had a different dad and she didn’t feel anything when he scapes to shadowclan and also despites him
Recently reread the series, and it wasn't a bad "plot" persay, but I always thought they could've improved it a bit more. But other than that it still stands a really great manga series! Also Sunny you nailed the human it turned out great! 🤩

I think this is easily one of your best pieces, the lighting and shadow look gorgeous! And you did a great job on the Captain!

The way I was looking for your next video aaa
I remember reading this one a few months ago... for some damn reason it was in a different language and I couldn't understand what they were saying.
