Whenever I tell anyone how blackened hardcore is one of the best little corners of music ever, I always prescribe Downfall of Gaia. When the instrumental break hits at 3:18, I pretty much just lose myself. Please never stop making music.

This music is just URGENT. Not that it can be out there, these artists have made it so it HAS to be out there. I love this, thank you for that. We have all that Arianna Grande bullshit around while we need some hard music to express what they do. So much postrock, so much black metal, so much of everything. Thank you.
If you like this band, you'll probably really like "Ulcerate - Stare Into Death And Be Still" album. I believe it is one of the greatest metal albums ever created.
First listen to Downfall of Gaia right now but I 100% agree with your view on Stare Into Death And Be Still. Incredible album. Now I'm even more excited for this.

The tone of both snares, and how they’re implemented in the mix, couldn’t sound any more different. Here’s your crumb of attention you desperately seek, though.
Even though Icons Of Evil had a better production (well, Erik Rutan so obviously), Dechistrianize sounded better mixed than this (or St Anger). This sounds like one of the drum cam videos from sickdrummer (which are great for their purpose, but not for listening to an album)
@@paul1720 awfully defencive there, why the projection? No one said they sound the same, it's the prominence that's the issue. I listen to music for more than a snare drum dominating everything else.

Vital Remains' Dechristianize snare was like that too, couldn't listen to it. Good thing Icon's of Evil was mixed properly.
