      I agree with the homeless crisis, but fuck dudes grow the fuck up and show you deserve a place to live. When you have a home you have to show it love, not writing on the walls and destroying the fucking place. Fucking work for your shit as well, even if it isn't a nine to 5 or a legit job, just show you are fucking dedicated to making your own life better. Cause when i watch this I see a bunch of lazy, ignorant kids who think they know it all. I was like you once, and then I realized its all just a bunch of bullshit. Our system is far from perfect, and yours is even farther.

They are indeed correct about having a right to live on the land for free, but what they fail to realise is that "land" they don't mean a man made structure that cost many, MANY thousands to build and is entirely artificial. If they want to love for free they should build their own place or live in a tent on the commons.

    Whenever I complain about our homelessness issues, people normally say that it's the homeless's fault fault for becoming druggies.
    First of all, that is a massive generalisation.
    Secondly, even if they are druggies, they deserve to be helped and not just left behind as insignificant and forgotten people left to live in the cold winters on the streets and what we have in place to help the homeless is simply not enough.
    And thirdly, most people that become homeless come from a working class family which is struggling financially and possibly (but again not necessarily) also has background of drugs which would influence them into using and they would be unable to get help financially from their family because of the family situation.
    And about my last point, there may not be quite as many rich upper class people that are into drugs, but there are still many and we wouldn't know about them because unlike people from working class families, they do get financial support from their families and don't end up being driven to homelessness.
    The system we live in IS unfair and we really need to wtfu and tackle the issue. Knowledge is power and most people are so ignorant about the issue.
    That said, perhaps many of them don't care because we are living in a country which elects the conservative party and will inevitably soon be run by that idiot Boris Johnson who seems to be more interested in cutting taxes on the rich than helping the homeless, or in fact as he promised - Adding funds to the NHS through money we gain from leaving the EU. And people still like him. So, actually we probably won't fix the homelessness issue. Unless as I said earlier, people wtfu.

    At least there is one news outlet talking about the homeless crisis. In America I see abandoned buildings and homes all over the place, particularly in Chicago. The shelters are awful and military like was my experience when homeless which is why many choose to sleep on the streets. But hey, lets build a wall instead of tackling the homeless crisis and either fix up old buildings and building more and better shelters while cutting funding for mental health programs!

    • @1989-c6c
      @1989-c6c 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      I hear you. I took a walk around my city, New Orleans today. So many homeless and starving people who are overjoyed just to get people's left over food. At least they are unlikely to freeze to death here (unlike Chicago!), but they still have to sleep on benches. And they sleep on those benches, surrounded by homes that people will use maybe 2 weeks of the year for Mardi Gras.

    • @InterdimensionalApe
      @InterdimensionalApe 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The wall will help stop the drug flow. So technically it will help with the homeless crisis, since most people who are homeless are on drugs.

    • @risingsun3907
      @risingsun3907 8 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      The wall will temporarily help slow down the drug flow while causing more fear and division.
      Drugs get into this country in many ways and on many shores. There is no wall that can stop our own corrupt forces like the CIA from bringing/allowing them in. Alcoholism is one of the biggest problems in the United States and booze is readily available nearly everywhere. We still allow advertising for it and can even be seen on giant digitized billboards when you drive even though drunk driving causes huge amounts of accidents. Addiction is essentially promoted!
      Factor in the addiction to legal synthetic pharmaceutical opiates and psychiatric anxiety pills readily available in the United States and it gets much worst. People often combine them for an even bigger high. While all of this is occurring the budget for addiction and mental health programs have been drastically cut so people who want help cant even get it unless they go to AA or NA. All of these things contribute to the homeless crisis in America which is why they need addressed immediately before the money to build a wall is spent. “If we value life like we claim.”
      Hardly anyone is talking about these issues in the political arena. What I mentioned is only scratching the surface and goes much deeper. Truth is, we create these problems by advertising and promoting them while not having a solid foundation to deal with the problems. Much more money to be made on addiction than curing it. These same forces capitalize on the illegal drug trade and mostly privatized prison system. They want us sick, depressed, unconscious and hardly able to function. It is a great way to influence and control people. Ultimately, we are talking about slavery through promoted legal addictions.
      I recently wrote about some of the core problems in the United States you can find on my blog if you wish:

      Rising Sun I understand that the pharmaceutical industry has everyone addicted to drugs as well. I just don't see how securing our borders as a sovereign nation is going to cause fear and division? Most legal Mexicans I know are for the wall. More people just walk into the US than by boat. Most drugs from mexico go straight across the boarder by mules AKA illegals. This fear and division crap is fueled by the mainstream media by the false narratives they constantly push.

      We do need a better way of securing our borders but I am not shure a wall is the best way to approach it with all the technological advances we have made. Walls ultimately fail and come down so why invest in another one particularly if the money is desperately needed to clean up our own backyard first?
      If the goal is union a wall is not going to help. However maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part and we are not yet ready for that type of union. Might be another generation or two before something like that happens.

    Same in Ireland; HUGE homelessness crisis, massive amounts of buildings in the heart of Dublin completely abandoned, owned by people who have office in the government... and a middle class who's incredibly shallow and sheltered and thinks it's a crime to occupy a building that's sitting abandoned so you don't die during winter.

      they dont need to take someone's private property, nor does being needy justify taking it. they could easily break into a public building, a school or government building, or stain in a train station. instead they go into a privately owned home, who's family could be away on vacation or just being unlivable, and effectively put hard working people out of their home. what do you think happens if squatters take someone's home? the guy said, at 1:47; he assumed it was ''the owner trying to kick us out illegally", but that dude who owns the home, is now homeless; check your critical reasoning, making another person homeless doesnt solve homelessness, it makes the homeowner a few grand poorer and a long eviction process. dont look at these people as standing up to the government, they are robbing people of their homes

If you are a factory worker you do not belong in the richest 1% or even top 25%. If you work your way up the business you can then be at the top, but if you are doing a job that pretty much anybody can do, you are not as valued as the programmer or CEO as they are much more specialized jobs that take years of experience or training. Capitalism isn't perfect but it gives us the most fairness (being people who have skills have more and lazy fuckers have less) yes you can point to the odd person like Nikola Tesla or your local genius who as been fucked over by bad luck. But in general Capitalism around the world has bread success and prosperity where as any time a Marxist-esque theory has been attempted it ultimately leads to lack of wealth, prosperity and massive amounts of poverty/starvation, not even mentioning the likelihood of genocide to happen like in the soviet union. But I guess that is #notrealcommunism

    $8400 for yearly rent at 700 a month. let's say you make $23000 after electric, gas, water, food, gas for your car, cell phone, medical expenses, and medicine you would be lucky to be left with $4000 to $5000, you milage may vary.
    But wait that's not all at once that's over 12 months which is about 333 to 416 a month.
    What happens if In one month you need tires and another you need repairs for your car? What if that happens in the same month? I didn't even calculate in a social life.

      jli136 Squatting laws can be abused though. For example let's say you and your family go on vacation for like a month, you come back and you find a squatter in your home, in some states you have to go through the full eviction process to get the squatter out, which can take months. plus squatters can do property damage.

    • @weeblz9562
      @weeblz9562 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If only this were true, the problem is that there is damage being done and the squatters have no idea what the situation is for the owner. I would have more respect for them if they chose other means to achieve the same goal, for example occupying government buildings or reaching out to property owners to get consent to use the building for homelessness charity work. As it stands they take what doesn't belong to them, decrease its value until the owner is forced to pay large sums to have them removed, rinse and repeat.

    EXCELLENT IDEA! here in the states it's VERY common for single families to own 5, 10 or 15 homes. they don't live in them. they're mainly just tax right-offs and they'll sit unoccupied for years, even decades. meanwhile we have families living out of their cars or in makeshift "tent" cities. I just moved from L. A. to a small rural town and BOTH places are inundated with empty stores and unused business property. this is what capitalism does - IT WASTES EVERYTHING! the elite would rather something go unused than to let it be used for free to help people. capitalism produces a throw away society. something breaks; its cheaper to throw it away and buy a new one rather than fix or upgrade the one you have. and the cost of everything you buy is 75% throw away packaging with no purpose other than to make it harder for those who can't afford it to take it without paying. but if anyone in the states tried to do what these british anarchists did SWAT Teams would invade and cordon off the area, surround the building and ATTACK!

Also, you can't be shocked when somebody is putting your waste to use. There is NO way it is justified to have multiple homes in which you do not put to use, so much excess, when there are people who have nothing and trying to find a means of survival that the system (more often than not) does not provide. Even people who work their asses off! How is it that intensive labor isn't rewarded in the same way that the "work" of the Kardashians would be? People who do nothing have everything, and people who do everything have nothing. This movement is completely justified, in fact, necessary!

Maybe they had money when they bought it but no longer do. There are plenty of reasons why a building would be empty for extended periods of time. None justify having it stolen and destroyed by a bunch of entitled brats and junkies. Squatting wouldn’t be anywhere near as bad a problem if they didn’t destroy the buildings. If the government won’t provide for its people and encourage foreign investment for more money, then anarchy will ensue until a system is in place that provides for the basic needs of a human - food, shelter, community, love, strong and wise leadership, involvement in community issues, security, support, stimulating work, a balance of work and community/family life, and a sense of liberty. These are basic needs if an atmosphere of realising potential is to be created.
    Continuing with the greed-fuelled plutocracy will create pandemics of depression, poverty, abuse, suicides etc. The rich people are equally depressed and tend to have poorer family and community environments. Wealth is isolating. Stop chasing it.

    So brave. So revolutionary. I've come from the very bottom, I've spent seven years in state prisons and a few more years added up in various county jails. I got out with a bit over one grand after saving my "state draw", the money you get from working in prison which is anywhere between 17 and 50 cents an hour. The last three years in prison I didn't speak to a single person on the outside. When I got out I didn't have any network of people that could help me. Not many years later I had a house and three decent cars that were paid for. I'm not college educated and I have nineteen felonies, all thefts. I also had no marketable skills either. Oh and I've got PTSD from being sexually and physically abused for years when I wqs a child So I'd love to know how it is I managed to "make it" while tons of other people spend years or decades being homeless. Outside of someone who has schizophrenia please give me an example of someone who remains homeless for years and has a worse story than me. Yes there are a few people who through no fault of their own who become and remain homeless, but the vast majority of them put themselves there and refuse to do what it takes to get off thw streets. For the few truly blameless I give my sympathy. For the rest I have none. Don't think I haven't battled drug addiction either. I've been physically addicted to opiates. I know full well thry hell of being dope sick. There's really nothing anyone who is homeless can tell me as an excuse as to why they've been homeless for years. These idiots "combatting homelessness", well, they're just idiots. Squatting isn't doing anything at all. If you're doing that you're a jackass.

    This is a horrendous solution!! The homeless need a house, of course; the government and society need a solution for them!! BUT is the solution for a drug addict to find an empty mansion to the sleepover and not get treatment for his drug addiction which is the core of the problem? Who pays the rent and the taxes of all the mansions appropriated for these anarchist groups?
    It blows my mind that this is the solution of mercy that they're getting in London!!!!!!! Solutions must come from the core of the problem and not overtaking other people's rights and properties!!!!
    I can not believe the world that I'm witnessing today!!! It's too easy to be merciful to homeless people, occupying empty buildings from somebody else!!!
    Either the British government pays for the taxes of those buildings or this can not be an existent situation, because the property must be paid to be occupied.
    I'm sorry, I'm not involved with the real London problem on this issue. This is only my humble opinion. London, a beautiful city!!!
    It's not fascist thinking that people from London won't be happy about this solution of expropriating mansion for homeless occupation!!! This is not a fascist way of thinking!!! This is the way the world works in this part of the Western societies!!! not fascist thinking!!!!
    There must be other solutions for homeless people that are not definitely a patch solution of sleeping in empty mansions belonging to other people.
    A suggestion would be: these guys getting buildings to be occupied for homeless individuals, should work hard to pay for all those taxes that they're expropriating from owners or not owners, but handle title of properties; revenues are collected for the good of all society, ( at least that's the original intention before the corruption of the State) even if mansions are empty. Occupying other people's properties for homeless, diminish the rights of the rest of society. It's not a solution to the problem!!!!! Anarchism doesn't get core solutions, solutions come from people with a planned strategy to get solutions in the name of all participants of society.
    Not paying taxes will result in more poverty for regular working-class people, the millionaires won't be affected, they have enough in London, all the rest of the population will become homeless too!!!! including these benefactor guys in London!! My humble opinion here.
