There is so much in this video to take in and learn from! Tracked expenses all month in December to get a baseline to start with for 2025. Just starting my first week and nervous I will screw it up but plugging away. With my husband on partial layoff this time of year it makes things more difficult for saving and paying bills. But I'm determined to make this work. Thank you for all your videos!
not many talk about the real struggles of pregnancy, but the book First-Time Blossoms by Emily Harper does, it helped me manage the journey with more peace
Ok WOW!!! Miko, that was a lot to cover. Thank you so much!!! 💓 There's literally something to pull out of this for my entire upcoming year!!! 🎉🎉🎉 From closing out your budget, rolling over starting balances, what not to count in your balances, yearly spending review, sinking fund trackers, short-term goals, vacation budgeting, banking, cash-less sinking funds, savings used, detailed notes and I'm sure I'm missing something!!! I'm BOOKMARKING this video!!! 🎉 💙💜💙
Hi Miko! I finally completed all the way through the first part of January tracking. Phew! I feel so accomplished and it's only January 2nd. Thank you for the guidance and here is to healthy finances in 2025! Cheers!
So impressive, Miko! This one was a lot! It's great how you have things rolling along! I start t his month with my brand-new, first-time-ever BBP workbook-yikes! It's a challenge for me, but I have learned tons by using your free budget forms and watching you do these videos every day. I've been able to keep up for 6 months; surely, I will succeed for the whole year now, right?! I made myself do the 6 months before ordering my pretty new workbook. Thank you so much for deciding to teach others the way you do. I "found" you when your book was displayed at the library; I checked it out and read it all the way in 2 days--couldn't stop. Happy New Year 💚
I think it would be interesting to have a year recap on all of your saving goals. And to discuss how much sinking funds really do help you add income to your needs for the following year
I was so glad you mentioned scanning pages before recycling the book. I haven’t been sure what to do and it was so quick to scan the yearly documents and any others I thought were important. Again, thank you and have a very Happy New Year!
Switzerland is very expensive. After I took this trip, I made it a point to always check the exchange rates when I travel abroad so that I can budget accordingly. Wishing you and your family a happy new year🎉🎉🎉
Hi Miko!! Happy New Year to you and your beautiful family!! I know that you always round up your budgeted amounts to whole dollars. Is there a reason why you do that? I am going to go back and look to see what you do for close out with the extra change from the budgeted amount and the actual. Have a great day!❤
Hi Miko, question! Do you handle your joint account with Christopher the same way as you handle your own budget? The reason I ask, is because tracking and budgeting with my husband is a lot of work and it gets overwhelming with all of the tracking, etc. Just curious if you and Christopher track your spending together using the same BBP method for your joint account.
I love the idea of having separate saving accounts for sinking funds! I was able to open 12 savings accounts this morning! My question is, do you have a tracking sheet to monitor the balance in each account to track each individually?
Last week I did my budget for Q1, I’m salary so check is always the same, so I could see what would tentatively be leftover to put towards my $1K EF - which I found to be very helpful. I am also doing a no spend January for the first time 😬
It.s so funny - our goals are nearly the same! My son is coming to America in October for two weeks (school exchange), he is 15 then, I want to fix my 10 000 Euro Emergency fund and in 2026 my car leasing contract will end, so I want to purchase a car cash.... Sorry for my English, greetings from Germany and a happy new year!😄
Hi Niko. I’m just starting with your workbook and I am trying to understand your process. I am a little confused on the monthly budget recap page. For example, You have that you budgeted 150 for beauty. But when I look back at you Budget Tracker page it just says 50. Where did the other 100 come from?
reading the book First-Time Blossoms by Emily Harper completely changed how i approached my pregnancy. this ebook gave me the clarity i was looking for.
Hi Miko! Can’t wait to start tracking everything starting 1/1/2025. My goal is to pay off student loan and car lease. Every extra dollar will be going to those categories. I have no other debt. 🩷🩷
scanning receipts...shopping should be a private affair. marketing gimmick? Why doesn't your husband work? He is young,,. Who wants a man that stays home to babysit.. House Husband!
I understand what you are trying to say here and I agree with you. She saw in her man that he isn’t lazy. They talked and got to know each other while dating and I’m sure as a divorced woman, Miko is a smart b*tch who said I’m never going to tolerate any BS from any man. They most likely discussed and came up with a plan. I think that is okay. My former neighbour was an accountant and her husband was high school teacher. They had a couple of kids. He also got part-time work at Ford manufacturing. He discovered he was earning more money at his part-time job than his full-time career. He quit the full-time, kept the part-time and took care of the babies. Once they reached the end of high school, both him and his wife opened up a store, sold it after two years, gave the house to their kids, bought a house in Europe and live it up.

Writing down the over budget amount is hard but really helps to keep things into perspective!

I have under $3k left on my husbands student loans and I’m going to pay in cash for my midwife! Those are my main financial goals for 2025.
if more first-time moms read the book First-Time Blossoms by Emily Harper, pregnancy would feel a lot less overwhelming
