I used to Marshall for Ulster Rally and Circuit of Ireland. Back then we had the old obligatory whistle to let spectators know a car was approaching but you could hear the group B’s miles away and the Intergrale, so the whistle wasn’t necessary. The ground shook when these cars went past - what a golden era of rallying.
Love the gearbox whine , I remember standing watching the famous group B’s in the early 80’s Lancia, Audi, Toyota, Metro, Manta , Ford and Peugeot…wonderful cars and wonderful days
As a 20 year old, me and my mates would travel the country to see these iconic rally cars, back in the day you could get close to the action, if you weren’t there you could not comprehend the noise these beasts made form a mile away in Colcaenog Forest or overtaking us between stages, fantastic memories, happy days
I was enjoying this bit of fun until some sad wally decided to moan about EVs. Maybe a McMurtry Sperling on the channel would even up the score. Just as brutal and LOUD but with a kick in the guts missing from this retro number plus it's British ( to add to the trumped up culture wars). Raspberry in your general direction Sir!
You said yesterday at the live Q and A this video was coming. I was the lad from portsmouth. As you can see I made it back safely and so did you. This thing is seriously cool. Being allowed to drive the works lancia delta intergrale rally car is just epic. A car that was so iconic and successful. Very special.
I was just 17 when I first went to watch the 1991 RAC Rally up in Dalby forest. The spectacle and then noise was just amazing. 10 years later a friend had an evo 2 car on the road and wow what a machine.
I have just watched the highlights from Rally Monte Carlo and the sound from that Integrale are far better than any of the works cars from today. I have been a fan and have been watching live Rally's for fifty plus years and that car is very close to my favourite car of all time certainly in my top 3. I am often jealous of the cars and experiences you have in the automotive world but that experience can't be far from the top of the list for me.
That thing does awesome fly byes. The spray off the wheels and the noise at speed just adds to the whole rally picture. Takes me back years to when rallying was way more prominent on the tele. Now you just need to get yourself in a nice muddy hill climb car with somebody bouncing up and down on the back wheels, and a few laps of rallycross, and the memories of Saturday afternoon watching 'Grandstand' would be fully revived.
This what we want. More more please , drive reviews of some special vehicles from yesteryear , peak viewer age memories from watching on the tv. Epic Pete 👍👍👍👍 Ps the martini livery has to be one of the all time best which ever car it adorned
It's not very often a video can make me smile as much as this one did, absolutely incredible car. This is a true drivers dream. Great Video Ped, many thanks.
Wow Ped that frigging amazing. To drive that on the road. I was at the Live Q&A too and remember you saying. I could by your face you knew it was a good one.
I.ve been in this car many times on the track, it's well set up, it was parked next to my Group A up in clitheroe for 10 years whilst both vehicles were further developed, during that time it was hopeful they could aquire Fulvio's Alfa 155 GTA inlet manifold for that car but later had to settle for the Lancia Kappa item with a slightly enlarged Plenum, A nice touch on that car is the AP clutch release bearing fitted inside the R90 bell housing, brings very little travel on the foot pedal. Enjoy the car, thanks for sharing
Peter…next time you say you enjoy driving BYD Walrus or whatever, we won’t believe you! I have memories of watching various rally’s in the 1980’s and the sound of that straight cut gearbox is magical to hear again. One of my favourite cars is an Integrale but they have always been impossible to fit in with what chances I had…and I also like the 1935-49 Aprilia which was the choice daily of many a racing driver. Lancia has a huge history too buried in the gloom of 1970/80’s rust. Well done again…😃😃😃😃😃Richard.😊
Cracking watch that ! In awe of Ellis car ! Seen other footage of it and hope to see it in person! I’ve just finished a nut and bolt on my EVO 1 and can confirm it’s heavy on the wallet ! Keep up the good work Ped !
Glorious! Superb! I doubt I'd have ben as comfortable driving it as you wee Pete, well done. If you ask nicely Ellis might let you drive it with the Jolly Club shell
Great video, cars like this show engineering and innovation at their finest, shame that authorities get the need to dilute such things! Thanks to Auto Integrale and you 🎉
Friday night treat, just aswell, was sick of seeing a certain EV revelaed on every channel. Something about those, rally cars are always nuts. Full on Rally Ped, good sruff.
A very good friend in Grasse owns one. I couldn't help noticing an invoice for repairs and service from a local garage for his Delta Integrale a couple of years ago: £7.000!
We have to celebrate guys like Ellis for keeping these cars on the road and proper use them. Legends are to be shown! This is what driving is all about, the experience ( sorry EV guys!)
You don’t get this feeling from modern cars. Even if they have double the HP and are more comfortable. Cars like the Integrale will always be special to drive no matter how old they get
Such a cool car the Integrale and what a heritage. Reminds me of the time rallying was a big thing in the UK, and also reminds me that Ford used to sell X Pack kits for the Escort and Capri that consisted of add on wing and sill extensions (among other things). Rally or works versions a little noisy for day to day road use but I would love to own a road version. The Nissan GTR Nismo easily tops though it in my book. Well done Ped, great content and production.
Fabulous video squire I must admit as nice the Lancias and Ellis's car is brilliant, my favourite is the red road going one with JK's a close second thereafter though the star of the show for me was the Fiat 131 Miraflori.
My absolute dream car since 1986 was a S4 stradaleie the road going groupe B car . Keep all ya super cars inc the F1 no body sees em less than 250 made 👍👍
If the car had a voice, when it heard you say, “today isn’t ideal conditions”, it would have replied, “not ideal conditions?! What the hell are you talking about?! I LIVE for conditions like this!!” In an Italian accent, obviously.
Lovely car and another great vid !!! But should it have the ( I ) Badge on the back in the UK with that numberplate on the back, as it is now, especially with you driving it 🇮🇹🤔
Fuck--- awesome! I had three integrales and the main thing was they were massively under powered for the chassis! The chassis for the time and the technology was way ahead!

Awesome story, I was a huge fan of group B, please bring it back, Rallying would take off again.
I remember watching the Intergrales flying through Keilder and Dalby forests on the RAC happy days 😊
Oh yes. I Chatsworth or Wollerton Park special stages back in the Group B days 👍
And Hamsterley forest. The best days of my life 😊
Love the gearbox whine , I remember standing watching the famous group B’s in the early 80’s Lancia, Audi, Toyota, Metro, Manta , Ford and Peugeot…wonderful cars and wonderful days

the passion that you English people have for cars is truly captivating! Ciao!
Thanks! 😃
That looked more fun to drive than any EV you've had on the channel.👍

The Ioniq5 N was a long fun 😜👍
@@robertimrie3710 I read it as a clear statement of content preference rather than a moan. Perception eh?🎉

Oh mate. So good to meet you and thanks for coming 👊
It's been a few years since I last marshaled on a rally. This brings it all back!
Thanks PP.
Great sounds 👌
Magic. It's the pure sounds that does it.
I was just 17 when I first went to watch the 1991 RAC Rally up in Dalby forest. The spectacle and then noise was just amazing. 10 years later a friend had an evo 2 car on the road and wow what a machine.
good luck making your beloved EVs feeling and sounding like these Deltas!
Not sure they are ‘my beloved’ 🤔😂
Quality content Pete two blokes out for a drive in an iconic rally car the smells the noise . Smiles for days no Ev emotion killer this time .
Cheers 👍
What a lovely sound, takes me back to Kielder Forest in the 80s
👍

Came here to say exactly this - well put! Awesome car, love the gearbox whine and the fab engine note.

Yes it does!
giallo 😂 greetings from Turin, home of Lancia 🇮🇹
What a great build and a true classic Lancia. ❤❤❤
That camber itself gives the car an awesome look.
It does!
This what we want. More more please , drive reviews of some special vehicles from yesteryear , peak viewer age memories from watching on the tv.
Epic Pete 👍👍👍👍

More to come!
Sir Pete an epic Video!! Thanks for sharing this with us! This car sounds like heaven
It sure does 👌
It's not very often a video can make me smile as much as this one did, absolutely incredible car. This is a true drivers dream. Great Video Ped, many thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely Superb Mr. Petrol Ped, Thoroughly Enjoyed This Vlog. Thank You ... 👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
More rally car please, best video so far this year
I’ll be trying 👍
I hope my neighbours enjoyed that start up as much as I did.. Awesome, awesome machine.
I hope so too!
Wow what a car! Lancia yes had a build reputation but man they built fantastic winning rally cars. Fabulous Friday Video Ped 😀
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
What a thing! I had a Lancia back in the late 1980's. Loved it to bits, apart from the electrical gremlins and rampant rust!
Yeah…minor issues 😂
Wow Ped that frigging amazing. To drive that on the road. I was at the Live Q&A too and remember you saying. I could by your face you knew it was a good one.
Thanks for coming to the pod 👍
Love Integrales, used to dream when going past a garage in South Otterington near Thirsk.
You and me both!

What a beautiful car from an era I am very grateful to have lived through. We will never get cars like this again more's the pity.
You and me both!
I loved this car as a kid. Still do obvs. My first (and last) radio controlled car. Brings back happy memories!
Tamiya do a great one 😜👍

0:19 Hello pal, now that’s my kinda toy. 👍👍🇬🇧
Man what a beast - well done Pete for driving it in those conditions - even if it was only map 1! 😁
God knows what Map4 is like 😮😂
Top vid mate way better than your normal content 😊😊
Wow, thanks 🙏🏻
Glorious!

I doubt I'd have ben as comfortable driving it as you wee Pete, well done.

That will happen 👍
Pete love these types off videos. Keep the coming mate

Great video Pete & what a fantastic experience for uou. One of my favourite rally cars of all time. Many thanks & have a great weekend 👍
Thanks, you too!
One of my dream cars. It's the ultimate garage. Also a big fan of the Fiat 131 Mirafiori. Gorgeous.
Good choice!
i dont think ive ever seen your face so focussed. Great video Pete.
Desperately trying not to bin it or money shift 😂
@@PetrolPed I bought a Lord blue Evo2 back in 2001, it was £9500, funny how in 20 years its added another zero to the price.

What a joy to watch, shame the weather wasn’t co-operating.
Yeah a bit damp 😬
Bloody brilliant I had a early 8v one in the 90s brilliant sounds fantastic nice one .
Nice one!
My dream car! With an Abarth 131 as backup :)
My dream car. Im chasing a Delta Integrale for years now. Hope that one day I will have one of them parked in my garage next to my dreams motorbikes 😊
Best of luck!
17:39 that must be one of the first times I’ve ever seen you swear on camera 😂 What a car!!
LOL 😂
Absolutely fucking love that piece of film . Just fucking awesome 😮😊
Cheers 👍
Great video. Amazing car. I had a HF turbo years ago. Loved it. Never had the cash for the intergrale. Probably never will😂
Well done, I can imagine it would be very intimidating, I’m off to watch some old group B videos ❤😂
It was a tad 😜😂
@@PetrolPed Well it didn’t show, you bossed it.
What a car…enjoyed watching 👍🏻
Thank you 👍
Brilliant video Ped, wonderful engine noise,.Good driving.Thank you.👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it. Tricky to jump in and drive it OK on camera 😂
Best video of 2025 so far! and it will be hard to beat! awesome rally car 👌
Yeah I’ve set the bar high 😜
Lucky man! I'm still angry with me that I missed the time to buy one when they were affordable. Lancia Delta Integrale EVO 3 is my dream.
Me too 😂
Lovely car. Even if it wasn't fast it would look like it was doing a million mph standing still. That red one, in the showroom is very very tempting.
Beautiful things 👌
2:56 I spy a Fiat in the back, niiiice assortment

Fight you for it 😜
Nice one Ped, real cars no suvs 👍

Beautiful cars. Worth the money!
Good ones are very sought after. The guys a Auto Integrale are the best 👍
Ahhhh....that sound
Heavenly. Audible bliss
@cephasmakuzva Yes...this is why we can't let EV rally cars take over!
Yep 🔥

In an Italian accent, obviously.
LOL 😂
Just wonderful 🏁🇦🇺
Auto Integrale look after my Fanalone. Great guys.
I love a Fanalone 👌🔥
You should have a drive of it.
That’s awesome kid in a sweet shop comes to mind ped 😁😁😁😁😁😁

I am now on a mission to drive more cool rally cars of old 👍
La Regina... bella anche l'ambientazione del video

PROPER JOB !!
Yep 👍
Owned one for 4 years and now want another one!
Get doing that lottery 😜👍
Great car… love the sound of it….
Mate you would love it 👍
It really must have been a privilege to drive that 👍
It really was 🙏🏻
Would loved to have seen you drive it flat out eg race circuit or on an old air field somewhere!
We are going to do that once it has been reshelled 👍
Lovely car and another great vid !!!
But should it have the ( I ) Badge on the back in the UK with that numberplate on the back, as it is now, especially with you driving it
🇮🇹🤔
😂😂😂
The opening expression on your face on the opening looked like fear, concentration and uttter jubilation
Yep. Great combo 😂
Great job. Clearly Ped had his rally pants on......
Yes, over my big boy brave pants 😂
my dream right there awesome brother was that a gold livery s4 lurking in garage i spyed
Ford Java Blue??
What a stunning thing
Yep 👍
@ works really well on the delta
What an experience
The Fiat 131 is advertised for a reasonable £39K which strikes me as not unreasonable for such a handsome car.
Indeed 👍
Fuck--- awesome! I had three integrales and the main thing was they were massively under powered for the chassis! The chassis for the time and the technology was way ahead!
It did indeed. A lot run 300-350hp nowadays 👍
Brilliant 👍🏻
Thanks 🙏🏻
