This Video explains derivation of general equation used in Flexibility matrix method in very simple manner, properties of Flexibility Matrix and the method has been explained with the help of numerical example on analysis of fixed beam. All the features of analysis of fixed beam have been described, i.e. calculation of support reactions, shear force anf bending moment at various sections, position and magnitude of maximum bending moment and location of point of contraflexure.

Lots of thanks from Nepal. Ma'am, all your videos are easy to understand and best for learning the concept. I have always had difficulty in understating moment area and conjugate beam method. Cloud you please make videos on these topics?

Good morning mam, I love to learn through your lectures . Lectures explained in a clear and easy way . Mam would you please suggest me a better book for structural analysis along with your lectures....?

Actually during last 30 years I have developed my own ways to make structural analysis simple. The books on structural analysis authored by me will be available soon. However you can refer NPTEL pdfs to prepare the subject.

At 54:50 we arrived to conclusion that Mb is hogging so we reversed the direction. Further in calculation of BM@A we have taken reversed direction of Mb but also took the sign -ve , shouldn’t be a +ve sign as the direction is already reversed??

If the force/ moment creates hogging effect we have to write it negative while writing BM equations since our sign convention to write BM equation is sagging positive and hogging negative.
