  • Flathead fishing with bait at Kings Beach South Australia on the Fleurieu Peninsula. I managed to catch a nice Flathead on a size 6 long shank hook using Cockles (Kuti) for bait and a Mullet on size 6 Octopus hooks also using Cockles (Kuti) for bait. We battered and deep fried the fillets for dinner. We were using fresh cockles or Kuit or Pipi for bait that we caught off Goolwa Beach (not far from Victor Harbor) the day before. Kings Beach on the Fleurieu Peninsula is near Victor Harbor in South Australia and is a great South Australian fishing spot where you can catch Flathead, Mullet and Whiting.

You never know what King's Beach throws at you 😀....and the flatty tasted great. They are ugly but such a nice fish to eat.

Great catch and one of my favourite eating fish.
Went into our local fish shop yesterday and it was $55 per kg so it stayed on the shelf.

@@fishingsister We were at Rapid Bay squid fishing a couple of weeks ago and they were coming in thick and fast.
      Pretty much every second cast.
I hooked the biggest squid I've ever seen and was most of the way back to the shore when it got off.
No way I could have lifted it onto the Jetty.
Only fished for about an hour as we were camping and couldn't handle any more.
      Yummy though.
