They should've included Hot Rod,Kup,Blurr,Cyclonus and Scourge with the Target Masters Transformers toy line as they became Target Masters too in the 3 part episode 'Rebirth' and with the HeadMasters I wish they could've included Arcee and Daniel as they were HeadMasters too.
0:36 Oh, wow. I had no idea that the tank toy I always played with as a kid was a Transformer toy. I only remember having the tank. I must have had both (because apparently both toys came together in one pack), but I have zero memories of playing with the jet toy (but many memories of the tank toy). Or (considering these are commercials from 1987 and I was only two in 1987), maybe I got the tank toy separately as a hand-me-down from someone years later and never had the jet. I think I still have that tank toy (maybe in a storage box at my parents’ house somewhere). Wow. Memory of a well-used childhood toy given all-new context. Edit: And now that I’m looking at another video of the toys, it seems mine didn’t have the Transformers stickers/decal logo stuff on it. So I guess it was a hand-me-down after all that had all that stuff removed by the previous owner. Didn’t expect such a trip down memory lane today, lol.
IKR I ALWAYS broke my neck to see them !!!! If I was in another room in the house and I heard it on the tv, I all but came through the wall or practically ran over my mom!! It was about the only way I could see my guys on tv
So many great memories. The series was pretty much done by the time by brother and I were old enough to get it and enjoy as more then "Robots and fighting." One year for Christmas we got the Horrrorcons and those became the core of our Transformer adventures. In our minds the Horrorcons were actually Micromasters that had been remade to be the heads of mindless super robots. Also, since the Horrorcons were the best each one was put in charge of a combiner team. My guy, Apeface, was in charge of the Predicons and my brother's guy, Snapdragon, was in charge of the Terrorcons. That way we could be Prediking and Abominus holding our team leaders. But I have also learned that the Targetmasters were supposed to link to the guns in robot mode, not just hold them. I was so pleased a few years ago when I got the updated Cyclonus and found he could turn each hand around and it would link to the back of his gun. I'm 40 now and driving a truck, sadly not a red cabover like Prime. And as I roll down the road I still daydream and imagine new adventures of the Horrorcons.
As a collectable, Target Master Blur and Target Master Scourge would be the most expensive out of that particular category group of Transformers, easily going from $250.00 and up.
My first EVER Transformer was Cromedrome, from when I was 3 or 4 back around 987 or 1988. The reason why I got one due to my (then) hyper fixation (I have HFA) with cars and transport. Now I still like cars and the like, but I'm now more into history and heroes (super and otherwise) plus I enjoying looking into their deeper aspects of the cultures surrounding them and the thinking that all of their creators had/have with regards to their characters and stories. And yes, and it goes without saying, I like G1 and G2 TF toys and media, chiefly the Marvel Comics stuff. For reasons that should be as clear as glass to any (Classic) Marvel fan, like me.... Till All are One
These were the last of the g1 commercials,by spring 1987 the franchise was dying.I remember coming home from school around the age of 7 or 8 to watch my favorite cartoon and it was replaced by ducktales, and I was like what the hell is this shit.
Actually, the G1 franchise hung on until 1991 but yeah, it declined after the cartoon got cancelled thanks to the writers killing off a bunch of characters that the fans liked and replacing the rest with new characters not to mention making the guy who got Optimus Prime killed in the movie the new leader of the Autobots.....
The Movie backfire slowly killed the show the same happened with G.I.Joe both shows had great 1st and 2nd seasons but when Hasbro decided to ditch fan favorite characters into oblivion both shows slowly lost popularity. TF S3 felt out of place and the DiC produced G.I.Joe was terrible !
@@Q80Warlock My thoughts exactly about both shows. I get that Hasbro wanted to promote their new lines of toys for both franchises but they didn't have to kill off a bunch of fan favourite characters to do it, just have them share air time with the newer characters like season 2 did when both the Autobots and Decepticons got a bunch of new guys.

Personally, I strongly feel the 1986 line was the last good era of Transformers toys (apart from Computron and the two new Decepticon cassettes, I could pass on most of the '87 line). By no coincidence, it must have been 1987 that Hasbro ran out of Diaclone and Microman toy-molds from Japan to recycle, and were forced to invent their own designs. It didn't help that the cartoon series ended that year too. The '87 line was poor, but I agree '88 and beyond were absolute trash.
