I find shaving head short helps release/detach from old energies, emotions and to refresh mental energy. There are no right or wrongs, nothing can make you more or less spiritual. Do what feels right each moment and surrender to life. However to add to this nowadays i find long hair helps connect ones roots to the earth and be more in-tune and grounded with earth/nature but again always follow what feels more natural for you. Namaste

You made a little error and that makes a big difference. You missed the word "pretend". The actual quote is:

I had long curly thick hair. I shaved it all off and never felt more beautiful. It’s internal beauty that’s shows itself. You see you for you. Not hair/keratin. You show yourself for how brave you are and how much you’re willing to let go

    • @Alphacentauri819

      You are inspiring!!
I had almost white blond hair as a child. So many people commented on it. It got darker in adolescence, and I started getting it colored. I was known for my hair, people called me Goldilocks in high school. As I got older it has thinned and I really had to evaluate my holding on and “grieving” my hair and why... I got it cut short, not shaved, but short & loved it. It still had some dyed blonde though.
Then I got extensions and was overly consumed with whether someone could tell or not. In some angles the extensions looked good and I looked younger. However, they got old fast and I was at war with myself...wanting to fight the societal conditioning and also be more authentic.
I had them taken out in 2019. 2020 hit and I have grown out all the blonde. I cut it several months ago...after no cut since 2019. It’s medium/dark brown with some grey. I’m wanting to shave it. It’s a scary, yet thrilling idea!
I want to let go of all that is attached to it. What people have thought. Just be. Without rigid beauty standards being oppressing.
      True freedom.
Are you going to keep your head shaved?
EDIT: don’t know why autocorrect, said insulting instead of inspiring 🙄😂

I’m glad I found this video and have seen such positive comments about shaving one’s head. I’m currently 23 years old losing a lot of hair which has triggered traumas from getting bullied as a kid. Losing my hair with time has brought me back to those moments and has even made me feel like I was still that kid honestly. The trauma was so dug into my subconscious that I (without thinking most of the time) would constantly be touching or fixing my hair which has been happening for years since I grew my hair out. A part of me doesn’t want to let go of my hair but another part of me wants to mend the trauma and feels as though the only way to do it is to just let it go. I’m working in the direction of shaving it and hope to let it all go before the year ends. This video and the comments has helped so I appreciate all of you!

I damaged my hair going from black box dye to blonde and only my roots are the color I want and I’ve been trying to tell everybody that I’m not trying to be impulsive about wanting to shave it I just want to feel free from the anxiety and pain of looking in the mirror and seeing how bad my hair is. Everyone around me doesn’t want to hear me complain about how much I hate my hair but then don’t want me to shave it off because they think I will still complain. But the way I see it is how can I complain about a problem that will no longer be their? 😪

This was interesting! I had hair to the tops of my legs, after caring for Parents & walking them both home, i sheared off my long hair to about a half inch from scalp, i had it long in Raja Yoga, it was for my self an ending of a series of eons, an ending of parents time on Earth & detachment, also a new beginning, new growth for my life on Earth but interestingly i slept quite a lot. I felt terribly tired for at least three months & still get tired, i thought the body was weary from years of caring. It is interesting that Yogini's all have a long cue of plaited hair as i did & Monks or Buddhist Nuns have shaved heads. In honesty i had an attachment to long hair, i will go on retreat in the spring with Raja Yoga, maybe i will of become truly incognito lolz. Thank You Sadhguru, i do enjoy listening to you, enjoy even more how you laugh with whole physicality, very infectious. Shanti 😊 🙏

That's nice, now I feel better about my thinning hair, but also more vulnerable spiritually. It's true, I always feel less grounded in this realm. In fact many days I long to return to my starseed home. And as the hair grows back, I feel more grounded to earth. Hmmm... I guess this is particularly important info for spiritual channelers, seekers, coaches, healers etc etc etc etc.
