Roman Forum 3D

- Once the centre of public and political life in Ancient Rome, the Forum is now the most impressive archaeological site in the Eternal City. It was a large rectangular forum in the centre of the ancient city, the location of important courthouses, temples and monuments, and the home of the Senate. It was not the only forum in Ancient Rome, but it was undoubtedly the most important. It was here that triumphal processions, trials and public speeches took place, and the Forum remained at the heart of the city’s political life until the fall of the Roman Empire.
Now you can explore the Roman Forum thanks to computer graphics and virtual reality. Progetto Traiano was born from the collaboration between engineers and archaeologists and aims to use modern 3D techniques to revive the monuments of ancient Rome.
The reconstructions are the result of a careful analysis: photographs, publications, plans, have been reviewed in a critical manner, analysing everything in the light of field surveys.
Detailed information sheets of all the buildings of the Forum can be found on our website: www.progettotr...

imagine being there... walking those streets.. thinking This Will Last Forever......... like we do walking the streets of London, Paris, New York today.. but it all ended in ruins.

Imagine seeing this at Imperial Rome's height? What a sight that would have been to behold. Compared to our current architecture, these people were most definitely inspired and of an intellectual vigor unmatched.
This some AWESOME rendering!
Thank you.
A trick : watch series at Kaldrostream. Been using it for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
@Bryant Finn Definitely, I've been using KaldroStream for since november myself =)
Impressive. Just to say something, it was a bit too short.
I wonder if you guys can make a "walking" video showing every detail.
And other thing, I missed the temple of Juno in the forum...
please label the buildings in the forum...:) wonderful !
Hello, you can find detailed information sheets of all the buildings on our website. Here: www.progettotraiano.com/en/projects/roman-forum/
Beautiful!
I have read that (contrary to what this video suggests) the Tabularium was not visible from the Roman Forum.
Beautiful 👋 👋 👋 all compliment 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I imagine myself as a visitor 2,000 years ago asking for directions.
Sehr hilfreich, Danke!
What century of this reconstruction? I remember big column in center of forum when I was in Rome.
Most of them date to the 320s (if Basilica of Maxentius observed). The arch of Severus would have not been there by the times of Caesar either.
Complimenti. Proprio ben fatto!
Fantastic.Thank you.
With no labels, narration, or mapping on to modern ruins, this is much less helpful than it could be. A great rendering, sure, but please give us a sense of what we're seeing.
I imagine myself as a senator.

Suggestivo, ma non è tutto un po' troppo "bianco"? Mancano i colori sgargianti con i quali i classici pitturavano il marmo
According to Ovid in"Ars Amatoria" women in Rome around 100 AD who wanted sex would gather under the tail of the statue of the bull in the forum. Do we know where that was ?
