  • In this video we have a Citroen Xsara Picasso in which the interior fan only works on top speed. We fix it by replacing the heater resistor. The step by step also shows removal of the glove-box and fan motor.

    Thanks for the video.
    Here is a tip to make your life easier next time:
    Twist resistor clockwise and pull. It'll drop down with the connector. Now, there's no need to vandalize the poor old thing. There are two side tabs on the connector, just press them and pull off your old resistor. It took me less than 10 seconds to get it removed from the shaft.
    BTW, if the heater motor is squeaking, give it a gentle tap and it'll stop.

    Thank you for this video, I amazed my husband replacing the blower motor with this, I'm now a super star, mine was slightly different being the air con version, just an extra plug really,
    We now have air perfect thank you.

    Thanks excellent demonstration. I was dreading doing this I have hands like shovels and a big 6”4” it was good to see the issues you had and steered me away from doing the same. it took me 20 minutes start to finish. spending time on the video saved time plus probably money not breaking things. My wife now thinks I’m a mechanic. Little does she know. Note when moving the wires to twist the fan, the connectors were on holders stuck to the frame, so they just pull off and I didn’t have to take them apart. The resister just twisted and I just pinched the connector straight off. I did have to mutilate it to take off. Thanks again🎉

    Thanks to this video I had a go myself. It was successful though i did snap a connector off the holder attatching it to the bulkhead. I recon it was because I'm not giid with gentle and the plastic was cold (winter)
    The resister holder came out the housing with just my hand squeezing the tabs which was a bonus but payback because id snapped the motor plastic lug getting it bent out the way to twist. When twisted back on it all seems pretty secure so I'll leave it as is. All working well so 🙏 thank you.

    The hole in the motor where you think there could be a screw is there in the event you break the tab when you twist out the motor. If that happens to you, just put the motor on and secure it using this hole and a self taping screw

    Hi... Been watching another video where they are replacing bulbs in the panel at the top above the radio.
    With this top peoce removed. Would you have access to the Resistor for the blower motor.??.

    Great video; thanks!👍🏻 Do you know if it is the same with a left hand drive? Steering column cover instead of glovebox?

    • @iofix
      @iofix  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I've never worked on a left hand drive one but I imagine it should be roughly mirror image configuration.

    • @propatria6382

      @@iofix Thanks for your answer! I think i just have to take it apart. I fear it's the same as BSA might find too expensive to make a left and a right mounted v.motor. And if i'm right the job is a bit more complicated than the glovebox.😭 Christmas greetings from Denmark

      Old comment but i suspect you found this out the hard way, like i just did, a real pain working under the steering wheel 🤦

    • @mouftie618
      @mouftie618 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@hugonilsson6067Well, I guess I should have read trough the comments to know that in left hand drive, the motor still is on the left hand side

  • @hugonilsson6067
    @hugonilsson6067 ปีที่แล้ว

    If anyone is trying this on a left hand drive car the motor is facing the same way which means you have to go in under the steering wheel, and yes it is a pain

    • @20Fix

      but maybe you could get to the resistor through the glovebox side no?
