    That is so smart using up those branches to enclose the compost bin. 👍. Thank you for sharing. I look forward to more of your videos. Take care✌️

    Just watched this and I’m so impressed. What a great idea to get the expired produce from the grocery store!

    Those are some happy chicks! I think the geese are taking up residence in the compost heap ;)

    It came out great! Making compost is definitely essential to being sustainable…we’ve always had to buy a lot of compost as well, so making more of our own is one of our goals for this year too. I’m really interested in seeing how you set up that cattle panel greenhouse, too!

      Thank you!! I’m glad I have a little system going. Goodluck with your compost!

    I love this setup. Those look like happy birds! The emerald ash borers are are real problem around here. I love that you have a friend who is letting you have the expired produce from the store. I used to work at a local grocery store and the food waste always made me so sad. Well done!

      Thank you! Yeah its sad that all the ash will be gone. And its so nice to be able to salvage at least some of the food waste. I get so much from just one store in a small town. I can't imagine how much there must be in the world :(

      Thank you!! I couldn’t be happier with our saw. We recently got an 80 volt and it can handle everything we’d ever need it to do. It’s really convenient for cutting up tops of trees and things like that. And it can fell a decent sized tree!

    Yea we also have a problem with the ash tree beetles or whatever they're called. we've lost 80% of our ash tree population here. Also great video. Notifications on now.

      They are in our county and will probably be in our woods soon, there shouldn’t Be too many ash left for them, though. Thanks Man, I appreciate you watching!

    Be careful not to put the compost bays too close to the perimeter fence or the ladies will use it as a step to fly/hop out of their area. This is the voice of experience speaking!!! Chickens do make brilliant compost.

      Yeah I probably need to move the fence haha They can get over but they have been pretty good so far luckily.

    Wonder if you could train the chickens to gather the leaves and scratch them *toward* the bin? 😂 Just kidding, of course. I think your system will be quite nice when it's all done.👍

    • @TheNorthBranchWI
      @TheNorthBranchWI  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're smart, they could probably figure it out. And they are in the woods digging through the leaves all day anyway haha and thank you, I'm excited to see this place when everything is in full force.

    Are you going to name your geese and chickens?

    • @TheNorthBranchWI
      @TheNorthBranchWI  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think I will name the chickens when I get rid of the roosters that I'm not going to keep. The geese are named Niles and Daphne haha
