Hi ThetransportDepot, Thanks for reviewing Navismaster, much appreciated mate we need all the support we can get at this early stage! Keep up the awesome content 🍻
@@Axeonalias with the Support you right. In any case, first of all my respect. I wouldn't know if I would even dare to try Unity on a new project, because anything that isn't Unreal 5 is automatically bad in the eyes of the players anyway. If I see correctly: Crest ? seems to me after URP ? best regards, and good luck with the idea. The last project I saw in this form has probably been discontinued. Was Cross the Sea. I'm curious to see how it develops with you. So good luck & success.
That is a some beautiful ocean simulation, the wake, foam, swell, and buoyancy of the boat all look very natural. Love what I'm seeing for such an early demo
This genre is so massively underrepresented and mostly underdeveloped... I really wish with modern tech that might change. Kinda have some hope that the "Fishing Barents Sea/ North Atlantic" guys can deliver on a decent ship game/ sim with a decently sized world and most of all: rich gameplay... Their plans are good, let´s see what they can do :) Definately keeping an eye on Navismaster, looks promising... but we´ve said that way too often in the recent years :)
@@TheTransportDepot Certainly true. I only played Barents Sea tbh. At least it is one of the very few with purposeful and not scenario based gameplay. That´s what I liked alot about it. I can forgive the "less realistic" approach in that case :)
@@RSProduxxIt is : too little ? Do you actually know what belongs to a decent physics basis ? Why don't you let the guys do it? Don't kill everything with expectations again. On the technical side: what's the problem? So far, what has been shown looks very good. If you mean Unity instead of Unreal, we'll immediately disagree. In my opinion, Unreal can please, please, please, go to the fishes with steam and hiss, I don't have a single good word for this game engine.

I'm a fan of Fishing: North Atlantic and have been playing that on and off for a few years. I hope more games come out with that idea in mind, but with larger vessels. I've always longed for a ship sim where you could realistically captain cruise-sized ships all the way down to sailboats.
I like Fishing: North Atlantic, but the ship simulation side of it does disappoint me a bit. Voyages never feel like an adventure, since the sea is always pretty calm, regardless of wind speed.
@@TheTransportDepot I think we've had different experiences. I've had plenty of times I was hauling in nets or lines where the sea fought me tooth and nail.
Man, this does look fairly promising. I really don't want it to pull a Nautis Home though, that one looked so incredibly promising, but it didn't not pull through.
I agree. Flight sims have made me really crave that level of detail and interaction in all vehicle sims. Granted, a ship is a much large model to detail, and would likely put a much larger strain on system resources though.
7:25 That's a good point. I'm holding out hope for physics simulations to be able to accurately model the sea. Water and how it's affected by wind and currents are very difficult to model.
That depends. I'm really looking forward to Ships at Sea, but I'm aware that it is still set in a very specific (relatively small) area of map, with a goal of upgrading to better vessels. What Virtual Sailor (and hopefully Navismaster) offers is a proper sandbox experience with the ability to expand it with 3rd-party scenery and vessels. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited for Ships at Sea, but I'm not sure how it will feel in terms of freedom.
The only problem that i have with games like this is that they always seem to focus on modern vessels. I would love to sail an old coastal tramp steamer or an old steam tug around etc
I agree. I'm quite a fan of classic vessels too. I suppose the problem is the lack of historical drawings or plans available to the model-makers (plus lack of reference photos). Theoretically it could be done though, as SIM3D have some vessels for VSNG dating back to the early 1900s.
@@TheTransportDepotgiven the sheer number of museum vessels around the world that could fall into that category one would think it would not be too hard to get images. The steam tug 'Wattle' down in Melbourne, Australia would be a fun vessel to have in a game
There is no map as such at the moment. It's more of a demo build. The intention is for 3rd party scenery to be easily installed though, like with Virtual Sailor NG.
Nice video! Did you really have those controls on your tug? 05:50? It also looks to me like an ASD tug, I only know them with those 360° control handels
I sailed on the smit tiger, a sister of the panther, and can confirm they have 360° joysticks. They are lovely to maneuver! (but I prefer Damen ASD 2810, very fun boats to handle!)
Hi everyone! Do You know any other ship simulator? I mean mostly civilian/trade/river barque or other simulators? Oil tankers or container ships? :) Something like frontier :)
I agree. As I mentioned in the video, I have seen footage of a later build that appears to include a first-person camera mode and a third-person mode with an avatar.
what about a career ill buy it in a heartbeat if so sandbox type games get boring real quick, cant spend money on a game with no progression. hope so cause this looks awsome.
Just tried it and I was a little dissapointed, the control HUD is quite tragic really, doing sliders for azimuths and having no indicator for what degree it's pointed at makes it quite the bit harder for no reason, and adding the search light controls in the same area was quite confusing, just found out what it is due to this video
Like I mentioned in the video, it's more of a tech demo build at the moment, so things like UI design haven't really been looked at yet. It's more of a trial interface just to test out functions.

No problem. It's good work that you're doing.

Finally We're getting another good looking ship game after the release of Ship Simulator Extremes in 2010.

This game looks really good, im going to have to check this game out myself
Just be aware that it is a very early tech demo at the moment. The "game" aspects are currently very limited.
Can we use our key board for ship controls too? I don't like just pointing with the mouse.
Yes, there are keyboard controls.
Just installed it, but I can't create an account, it just stops when I enter a password, nothing happens. Tried different passwords, but no luck
The benchmark will be "Ships at Sea", which will hopefully be released at the end of May.

Area's in Ships at sea are big enough while doing tasks ingame. But it's dull as hell imho.
if they allow mod support then this game might be a legit competitor of VSNG in terms of creative freedom.
I believe the intention is for it to have an VSNG-style structure where 3rd party vessels and scenery can be easily added.
they already have mod support in the newest version
Ex-Marine engineer here will defo check this out
It's a work-in-progress, but, yes, definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Try sailwind. Is very, very good. Just ignore the graphic.
Whats the map like ? Where do we get to sail ?

Yep, that was a genuine photo I took myself onboard the tug.
Damen ASD Tugs have 100% the 360 degree hand joysticks. And this Tug ist a Damen ASD 3213 Tug

im pritty sure the starboard and port running lights are on the wrong side
Nope. Red is correctly on the port side.
We need more ship simulator on android
unable to log in , any help?
I have no control over that. You need to speak to the developer.

Still currently work in progress. Basically a tech demo at this stage.

Can you hunt Jaws?
Cool, but cabins and engine room are needed.

No engine smoke? No go
It's basically a tech demo. There are many other things to be added.
Круто)
scenery needs some work, would be fine if we were still living in 2002
As I explained at the start of the video, it's just a small test scenery, as the initial focus is on getting the water and vessel physics right.
