    I was reading in some reviews about having to use points to purchase drinks and meals. Is this a true all inclusive resort?

    • @2GetawayTravel
      @2GetawayTravel  ปีที่แล้ว

      David, thanks for the comment. Well, it is partially true. They have a unique program called Joe Merchants, which is a store. When you arrive you are awarded points based on the room category and the number of nights you are staying. You then can go to Joe Merchant's and choose what you would like to fill your mini bar with. You can choose the type of beer, wine, liquor. You can choose the type of snacks. You use your points to make payment for those items. Now you have your own customized mini bar for your stay. Hope this explains it and please know we are always here for all your vacation travel needs when you "Need 2 Getaway"!

    Hi, we have been to MOST of the adult only resorts in Mexico so are considering trying this one out for something new. I'm still a little confused - Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya, is not the same Margaritaville Beach Resort Riviera Cancun, but is it the same as Margaritaville Beach Resort Riviera Maya Oasis? Also, I have read conflicting reviews regarding the use of the other Margaritaville resorts (eg: if you stay at Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera you can walk / taxi to the other) free? Thanks so much - Susie

      Original Susie, thanks for your comments. The Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Maya is an adults only that is located about 10 minutes away from Margaritaville Island Reserve Riviera Cancun a smaller property and family friendly, mainly for small kids like 9 and under I would say. There is mot a lot for kids to do but they do cater very well to infants and toddlers. The Margaritaville Oasis you spoke of I have never heard of, so no connection at all to the Island Reserve brands by Karisma. They DO NOT offer exchange privileges with each other. Remember we are always here for you when you "Need 2 Getaway!"

    Wife and I just got back and this is easily the worst resort of this type we have stayed at. The facilities and room are fine but the service is terrible. The bars are understaffed so wait times for drinks are excessive. And give they take tips, waving singles seems to get faster service. They ran out of tonic water at the bars. Ran out of fish for fish tacos. Cheeseburgers taste like cafeteria food. Hope you like Dos Equis case that’s all you’ll get unless you walk into the Landshark bar. But the you’ll wait and hour for really bad nachos. The food and the Italian resultant was pretty good but it was a complete cluster to make reservations and then they seemed always be confused at the restaurants when you arrived. At least that’s what we saw with others. Ours were fine. The steak house is a scam. You get some really poor cuts of meat, like a 1/2” NY strip or a flank steak, but expect to pay around $70 USD for a decent steak. In general, most of the service staff struggle to carry on a conversation past the most basic of questions. We were there for the Super Bowl. They decided to shot down all food service, unannounced, 2.5 hours before the game. Presumable to get ready they resumed 30 minutes before the game. They set up a big screen by the pool but if you were near the pool it was to loud to talk to the person next to you. We watched the game from our room and it was loud from there as well. We’ve stayed at several nice resorts and cruises many time over the last 20 years and this was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had.

      Bruce, I really hate to hear that. That was not at all our experience. I will be sure to pass your comments along to the resort.

      Nicholas, thanks for the comment. They have a very small area of beach. But, they have built a very nice area along the ocean front where you can lounge in chairs with or without umbrellas and lounge oceanfront with wait service. It is very nice! It should be in one of the videos.
