Best review of Haven I have seen. I stayed here in July and your review is spot on. I loved it and how chill it was. If you're looking at having a quiet, adult only resort with enough entertainment, this is probably the best place I have been to. I am a beach person and the beach did disappoint but the pools def made up for it. I tried all the restaurants and even tho I'm picky I liked everything I had surprisingly. You have to reserve the asian place if you want hibachi style. I hate sitting in transport for another hour after a plane ride and customs in Mexico so I loved the 15 min drive to get there. I would for sure go back to Haven. My parents also stayed there in May and would also go back.
My husband and I went there two years ago. It was very quiet, which we really liked. And needed essentially! I agree with your review 100%. I will say, their spa was incredible! Great review as always!
We have watched hundreds of travel videos for Cancun in the last week… THIS GUY has been the most amazing breath of fresh air for travel videos!!! Thank you for being honest, funny and super informative!! 🩵
Thanks for sharing. I just got back on the 8th from Bahia Principe Luxury Akumal. Already miss it so much. I have those reviews on my channel and also from Barcelo we stayed at last year. Currently Akumal is being renovated with brand new rooms set to open in Dec. Def need to to back to check it out once its done. How is the AC issue at Haven outside your room in the common areas? Bahia right now is non existent I think due to renos and supply cost as electricity is very expensive in Mexico. We did not find it as bad as people make it seem on the fb group. We prepped and brought mini fans it was fine. Rooms were cold well at least ours I thought was cold but I don’t like it freezing. The issue should fixed in the near future.
Thanks for the video. Going here on Saturday with my wife for our 10 year anniversary. We wanted something quieter but will throw in a couple excursions/day trips too.
Haven was such a beautiful resort (minus the beach) and comes with a great price tag but did have a few things lacking in the entertainment area. So I want to know...do you prefer a calm resort that's more on the quiet side or a resort with more upbeat vibe??? Let me know 😜
I went last year for my birthday and didn’t enjoy my stay. Food is amazing, the resort is beautiful but too quiet for my taste and lacks entertainment. I like resorts that are more on the party side but I didn’t research that prior to going there. I’m a beach person and there was so much seaweed unfortunately. Food and Drinks amazing that I can say
Very informative, so many empty negative or positive reviews. You really presented the walk through as a normal person vs someone who drives a Rolls..... or dump truck..... Question, if there is no lobby bar where do you get a drink a mid day? Restaurant or pool? do you know if there is any plans for a lobby bar. Again, great review, fealt like we were there with you.ps... we have stayed at Ibers* Grand's for last years, Secrets, Memories, Royalton before, but like variety. Our honeymoon was in Playa Mujeres 40 yrs ago, Mayans were still there then....... We like QUIET, and without being reclusive, I could vacation in a morgue and complain of the noise. I liked your description of the different areas. The water on this side of the ocean is negative for the most part. They could build some barriers but a question of money, permits, and does it matter? I suppose. Thanks again GREAT REVIEW
Great video. Now I'm thinking of booking this. But just a quick question before I book, what hotel do you consider to be the best in Cancun? It's going to be my first time in Cancun and I want a hotel very serene with good food. A good beach would be a plus but not a deal breaker. Plssss reply...
Thanks for the video and sharing your experience. I am on a 4-week countdown until we're here. Would you mind sharing more of your opinion on getting to and from the resort when flying in? In addition, how would you recommend a traveler to get down to Carmen Del Playa? I'd love to hear your input.
hi heather! me and my fiancé are interested in either el dorado resort, and haven riviera resorts in mexico for our honeymoon! and i was wondering which one you would recommend!
Hi Heather, looking to go to a white sand turquoise water resort for one week. What is the beach fantastic there? Doing a lot of research and I need to book some thing tonight or tomorrow morning. I haven’t traveled for 10 years so I’m trying to have a great experience. two adults round-trip at Haven is about $4700 total for two on United airlines. Is that a good price?
Thanks so much for sharing! How would you compare this with the Platinum Yucatan Princess that's around the same budget? Have you checked out that one yet?
Any recommendations for giving tips at this resort? How much would you expect to tip in a given day? We’ve been looking at various reviews and someone said the staff at the restaurant demanded more of a tip from them. I’m just trying to plan accordingly and have no additional insight into their situation. It’ll be my first time at an all-inclusive. So I’m just not sure what to expect and want to make sure we are being respectful.
That’s very nice to ask…. I haven’t been to this resort. But, I’ve been to many AI’s throughout Mexico, Aruba and DR. I’ve never seen any staff demand more of a tip….Tipping varies depending on service. At dinner restaurants, if I was happy with service, I left between $10-$25 At Breakfast, I tipped the omelette station and left a tip at the table (buffet service) $5-$10 At the bar, I would usually go to the same bartender or cocktail server and at the end of the night , I usually give $20. A big one to think about is The Chamber Maids / House Cleaning.. A few times, I left a tip at the and of the week, and I stayed 4 nights/5days and left a $50…. I was told it’s better to leave a tip each day. So, I’d lease $5-$10… There was one staff member that really made me and my BF feel welcomed. He was super attentive, friendly, funny, and kind. On our last day , we gave him an additional envelope with $100… I’ve seen some people tip very well and, I’ve seen people tip poorly or not at all, or $1. It’s a real personal thing. But, hard work and kindness should be rewarded
Thanks for much for this video, I've been looking at Haven since it opened, I used to go to secrets years ago (2008-2013) Haven't been to Mexico since. Secrets is un-affordable now IMHO.
Thanks for the review on Haven Cancun. it was the best video on this resort i have watched on this resort. We arrive in 31 days and are very excited. thanks
Thanks so much! I know when I was researching this resort it was hard for me to find a good review on it as well, so you made my day with your comment 🫶🏻
A little clip of the gym is shown towards the end of the video. Kinda small but nice looking. I could not personally stay here for 7 days lol but everyone is different and I think it all depends on what your looking for in a resort! I love splitting up my stays between 2 resorts most of the time when traveling.
Hi Heather, my wife and I really appreciate your honest videos. All the little stuff like the A/C pool closing times etc… How do we get in touch with you, we are currently black members at iberostar and usually stay at the Maya.
Can someone please tell me honestly, are these adult only resorts filled with loud, obnoxious, drunk young adults (18-21) or is it actually quite chill?
@HeatherStylesXO Okay thank you. I hope my comment didn't come off snarky, I'm just trying to find a good resort that's chill. But yeah, you're right on that. It's going to be different anywhere you go, just luck of the draw sometimes.
So the AC sucks. That's not good if you can't sleep. Your trip is ruined. II like to sleep at 67 degrees. The beaches suck too, not good. Looks like a toilet lol

Great review, from a fellow Texan! ;) Looking forward to our trip there in November. Keep up the good work!

Same, also I've been looking for an ultimate relaxation resort, that isn't a dump or hippie leftover, this place looks amazing!
This video is AMAZING!!! so informative! ill be going here for my birthday so this was very helpful

Thanks for the review. My girlfriend and I will be at the haven for a week next Tuesday.
Cool - have looked at this online a couple times. Really good overview thanks.

Serenity upgrade has a heated pool and an extra place for dinning.
Thanks for sharing this. We are looking for an affordable adults only and something fun.
It looks a bit boring! You did a great job reviewing the resort! Thank you!
Do you know anything about majestic. I’m torn between the two for my birthday.
How much was the resort fee at check-in?
hi heather! me and my fiancé are interested in either el dorado resort, and haven riviera resorts in mexico for our honeymoon! and i was wondering which one you would recommend!
I'm curious since I am going next month. Are the restaurants included in the all inclusive or do you have to pay for the food?

How much did you end up paying per night after factoring in the refund you got based on the later price match?
For a similar price point - what would your recommendations be in Hotel zone and Riviera Maya area? We're planning a trip in December! Thanks.
Just got back from the Haven and it was amazing.
who was the excursion through? Thanks
Best resort overview 👍 thank you !
Thanks so much for this great review! What time of year did you visit? I’m looking to go end of July this year?
We traveled end of June!
How do you get a room in the horseshoe section ?
What was the cenote tour you went on?
Which hotels have the best beaches ?
Love your stuff. Keep it up.

I don’t mind the calm resort but if we wanted to visit the night life in a different area is it possible to get a shuttle ?
You would just need to get a taxi to venture out.
When you say the water has a brown film, does it get on you or does it only affect color?
No it didn’t stain bathing suits or anything when we tried to get in it!
But no slimy feel? How can I contact your husbands agency other than Facebook? Thanks for getting back
