Haha Florida's not that bad as a whole. I live in Tampa Bay area, there's a few places to stay out of. Gotta stay away from Miami, spots in Orlando. But all and all it's not terrible. Plus we have a lot of guns so we take care of ourselves mostly lol
Conversations I didn't expect to have as a parent no. 356: explaining what S&M safe words are to my 12 year old by replacing S&M with 'tickling fight' She occasionally sits in while I watch these streams either live or later on VoD and, most of the time, it's not a problem as I'm not worried about swearing - she hears it all in school anyway - and the team keep things to a level that would be acceptable pre-watershed on UK TV. Again, she'll generally hear worse in school anyway! I wasn't quite expecting Jackbox to throw up S&M references in a casual party game though and after a moment's hesitation, I was pretty proud of how I managed to quickly come up with the tickling fight analogy and using a safe word to when you really, really want a sibling or friend to stop tickling you! :-) Another one to add to the 'teach kids consent in an age appropriate way from the very start' toolbox! Incidentally, I've already discussed, with her and her older sister, using adapted forms of safety tools from tabletop gaming like X cards and arms crossed the chest during both play fights, sibling and sibling/parent arguments, and family discussions. We're a neurodivergent family, emotions can be complicated, hard to express, and it's easy for anyone of us to become quickly overwhelmed and no longer be able to speak. Knowing we have these tools and actually remembering to use them isn't at all easy by any means but we have to start somewhere!
Andy: They're changing Overwatch team composition Jane and Ellen - almost perfect unison of pitch and timing on that "Whaaat!?". I guess they've been working together for a while.
I like to save these streams until it’s late and I really shouldn’t be laughing or I’ll wake someone, and the whole safe word thing absolutely sent me. Respect for keeping it mostly PG though!
i was talking to the screen saying that a great safe word would be 'flibbertigibbet'. and i was so happy, and spiritually high fived andy when i saw they had the where-with-all to use that. thank you andy... thank you.
I'm with Andy, the Gravelord Nito anime would be cute. All the skeleton skulls running with toast in their mouth, slashing their senpai with a toxic sword, adorable
Holy crap, the whole crew was on fire today. If this video doesn't get a like at 'Mickey mouse is your safe-word, you pervert', then I've lost all hope
My partner better never have "Shrek" as a safe word, because I don't know if I'll be able to stop myself responding "DONKEY!!"... Or if I'll even *want* to
The showerhose in my bathroom is too short to stand under it in an upright position but it is more than long enough to reach the toilet and sink - moral of the story: if you're poor and have a very small bathroom the shampoo is within grabbing distance when sitting on the toilet, along with everything else in the bathroom :D
There’s actually a type of ice cream called Bum Bum here in Germany! I think it’s supposed to look like a tennis racket with a bright red, sugary coating - taste-wise it’s a mix of vanilla and strawberry, and the stick is made of chewing gum. It’s really nostalgic for most people my age, aaand now I kinda want one, even though it’s really never quite as good as it was when I was a kid. Anyway, this was a great video, perfect after the stressful day I’ve had, though I’m a little sad I could not see it live. Maybe next time 😊
You likely know this, but upon seeing your comment I looked it up and learned a neat trivia fact! "The name of the ice cream brand is an allusion to the nickname of the German tennis player Boris Becker , Bum Bum Boris."
On Knifefight Island: There was a sandbar/small island somewhere in the Old West which was literally just a place where people went to have duels and knife fights, including one where Davey Crockett killed a man (I think). I don't remember the details, it was in the Behind the Bastards episode on Davey Crockett. Texas somewhere maybe?
You know how most people hate the sound of their own voices when you playback a recording of them; how messed up would you be if you heard someone else's voice entirely?
This is my favourite of all the jackbox games so far. Would love to see a superstream with Dicebreaker, Eurogamer, and Johnny! Currently laughing at your struggle to name "coolest tax deduction", because I'm pretty sure it's whatever you guys put down... tickets to comic conventions... pirate costume... new gaming computer...
I'm sure someone mentioned this already but Fahrvergnügen was an advertising buzzword for Volkswagen in the early 90s (possibly only here in the States?). All I remember is that at the end of the commercials someone would say "Fahrvergnügen" and then someone else would sing, "Say the word!" for some reason. It was a very weird time.
I mean, technically an active volcano isn't necessarily erupting. I've been going skiing on an active volcano (Mt Ruapehu in New Zealand) since I was 4.

Jane: "Is that a good thing? I can't tell any more!" Is that a result of playing Prudence so long that she's taking over? Or just a result of 2020? I like the first option!
I often have other people being my inner thoughts, including you guys. Especially Jane. Apparently being able to change the voice in your head is a sign of a good actor.
These streams are always a lot of fun to watch after I get back from work, even though it's 4AM now. And now I'm getting those weird Shrek videos in my TH-cam recommendations...
Thor Vs M. Bison, who I picture for Chris Hemsworth vs Raul Julia. I would picture Thor's voice in my head. Although I would like to hear their voices for Marvel VS Capcom 5.
A robotic earlobe would be useful for making more sensitive hearing it for communication. It could also act as a sensor that converts whatever it senses into some sort of sound. Then again a robotic nose might allow you to stop smelling as easily as it lets you smell more keenly so there's that
I am totally gutted that i can never catch the Oxventure stream live, and i doubt my elderly parents would consider it a valid reason for missing Sunday Dinner With The Family.
8:20 Jane: "I don't like the proximity of the word 'palms' and 'how to defecate'." Mike in a later stream: Just poop in your hand and throw away the glove!
Fahrvergnügen was an advertising slogan used by the German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen in a 1990 U.S. ad campaign that included a stick figure driving a Volkswagen car. "Fahrvergnügen" means "driving enjoyment" in English. Turns out it totally is a Mike word. Who knew?
I finally got "farfignugen" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I thought it was some very exotic word from a very exotic language but this time it clicked - "Fahrvergnügen". I didn't know that was a word that was absorbed into English as well. It's definitely not as high minded and philosophical as "Weltschmerz". Anyways, love Jane's spelling there 🤣🤣🤣
About the unsafe vacation place question, I'm surprised nobody roasted each other like "Jane's appartment after she missed lunch" or something like that lol Jurassic Park was a good answer though.
Less than 30 minutes in, and I've already had a mind meld with Jane, only to predict that her answer would be a recurring gag in the next game. Flibbertigibbet for the win!
Andy lowkey sways it's actually hilarious 🤣. Damn democracy. Edit: Actually, everyone does except Jane, but some reason Andy doing it stands out as hilarious. Edit edit: at 54:33 ,nevermind about Jane lol. Although she did do so earlier. Name of the game.
