Telephotos absolutely crush depth of field ; so much more natural than achieving that effect in post production. I appreciate how he uses the environment and "windows" of lights, that in turn create those beautiful catchlights in the subject's eyes. And the flowers is so eastern european influence.

I have the usual canon lenses, the 24-70, 70-200 , a sigma 18-35 and a bunch of vintage/weird lenses, that I have felt have not shown the best they can do with other cameras I have. what is your "on an island only one lens" lens?

Very nicely done! She seemed to be having fun too. Question: Every once in a while I would see a flash while you were shooting. Were you using a fill flash on some of these or was that the mom or your assistant getting some shots? Thank you for the video.

I’m hoping to photograph my friend’s daughter who has gorgeous eyes, and trying to find the right time to travel to them. I appreciate the settings you provided, but what about the other settings? Are they important? Like what was your focus setting, the metering and white balance?

I am crazy about your work. I have a silly question do you use presets when you edit. YOUR PHOTOS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND CONSISTANT.
The model is so beautiful. She looks 8 or 9, not 6. She is very tall. Love her outfits.
My niece took adorable toddler and 6-7 years pictures and now she is older and makes funny faces 😑 I am trying to train her without telling her she makes " funny" ugly faces.😳 She balls her lips up now in alot of poses. How do you train kid to pose? A photographer told me it's so much easier and funnier to use adults. Babies or a 5 year old and 6 will cry with "too much instructions." Or want to do it their way😳
Yes I have to agree with you that kids that age usually make funny faces, and act up refusing to take pictures. My own kids 9 year old twin girls and 10 year old boy absolutely hate to have their pictures taken. Can you believe it? But I noticed that whenever I'm photographing strangers, they usually listen to my directions. This little girl did really well for her age, and she likes to get her pictures taken.

Good video man but telling a child to try NOT to smile when they are having fun? :-/ huh? lol. Nah just giving you a hard time man I do that sometimes... But you did confirm I'm going to be moving back to the Canon. I want a 5DsR
Yeah, sometimes for pictures I need to get a good balance of smiling and non-smiling photos :) I would suggest you look into mirrorless camera options. If you will be switching back to Canon, check out their newest mirrorless cameras. I recently upgraded to Canon EOS r5 and really love it for portrait photography.
@@SergeyBidun I ended up getting the 5ds. I know all the mirrorless guys yada yada and I have an A7R too but for what I do which is pictures only for fashion, commercial and catalog work, that 50mp beast completely decimates everything I've always wanted. Got the s and not spending an extra $400 for a letter "r" on the end for one setting change that I can fix in post. Thanks for the vid man, I'm back home to Canon now.
That's usually the best way to get a natural smile! Doesn't work on all kids though 🤣

Hello, there's no such thing as correct or not correct settings. If you know aperture, ISO and shutter speed, you will be able to set optimal settings in manual mode according to the lighting conditions. I included my camera settings under every picture in this video, so you can study the settings that I used.

I notice you take alot of shots for each scene ....... Do you just go back and pick out best shots for each scene to do final edits ? or do you edit each and every shot from each scene ?
Yes I usually take a lot of shots from each scene. Usually I have an idea of what I want to get from each given scene and I shoot until I get that perfect shot. My goal is to get the shot right on the spot, and do just minor retouching on the computer. So yes, when I'm culling down images, I just choose the best ones and edit those.
