  • PHILIPPINES Travel Day Problem | MoalBoal to Siquijor island
    Philippines travel can be difficult. In this video, I show you the trip from Cebu, Philippines to Siquijor island. Siquijor, Philippines is a beautiful Filipino island south of Cebu. Arriving in Siquijor from MoalBoal, Philippines requires a bus and two ferries. I definitely recommend reserving your ferry ticket in advance if traveling to Siquijor island on the weekend.

      Envy’s those tourists visiting the Philippines this time of the year is hot but enjoyable in the beach and mountains falls, try out side the city’s same food and hotel but less expensive people are friendly, rent mopeds tour the islands coast to coast and good luck.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of unscrupulous people particularly among the tricycle drivers bc they are not regulated.Hopefully the tourism dept looks into it so that tourists do not get turned off. A tip to lessen the fare on trikes is one to not ride alone. Most of the times if you are alone they will make you pay for the empty seat. They wont say that they included the other seats and just say 200,150.. outright.
    Another tip, before taking a ride if you have met a real local or like the owner of where you are staying ask for the fares esp the places you want to go to. Ask for "clean" Carenderia(the dollar meal places).

    Load up on white/light colored shirts, Jonathan! And bring drinking water always =D BTW, the bread in the top shelf inside the glass case where you bought the water is the beloved Filipino pan de sal which you should try if you haven't yet ü Best warm or newly baked, either in the early mornings or mid-afternoons. You probably know by now that Dumaguete City is really a major stop and a key city in that part of the Visayas, and how lucky you were to have been there at that time of day, meaning that you could get yourself proper accommodation if needed. It's also a very historic town with many educational institutions established by the Americans among others =D You arrived at a fiesta day in Siquijor, too-lucky you because people were out and about. It would otherwise have been a sleepy evening =D

      Best after Siquijor, go to Bohol. Then back to Cebu. You might want to do Cebu North like Bantayan and Malapascua. Then from Cebu City, plane to Siargao.

    Dumaguete is really nice. Lots of good restaurants. Siliman is one of the few, if not the only, American / Protestant founded University in the Philippines. Balinsasayao Lakes are really good to visit too. Dumaguete is popular with foreign retirees.

      @@rosebrown2267 True. I explained lengthily in another video to an anti-travel vlogger why i support these vloggers coming here. Before, i was kinda like that too. But when i realized the boost they give to our tourism industry, i started actively supporting them na. And i realized too that whatever their motives are, the effect is the same. They still help promote the country... And also, ofcourse they need subs and views. That's how they will earn. Don't we all? In coming here, they kill 2 birds with one stone. They get to enjoy the beauty of our country, and earn too, which also funds their travels so they can show more of what the PH can offer. It's a symbiosis where both vlogger and country benefit each other.

      American viewer here who has travelled the Philippines and the world. The Philippines is one of the safest countries I have ever been to - so much so that I'm seriously considering retiring there. During my last visit in 2019, there were a lot of solo travelers, including many middle aged women and families from around the world. Many travel vloggers love it so much, they either make it their home or their travel base.

      Never trust the companies online sites, just learned the hard way 2 weeks ago. I was in Anda Bohol, and should stay there 3 nights before heading to Camiguin, booked my hotel and even bought a flight ticket from Camiguin to Cebu. I had checked the ferry online site that stated that the ferry from Jagna to Camiguin was daily at 1:00pm. 2 days before (Friday afternoon )went to Jagna to buy the ferry ticket and surprise no ferry’s during the weekend, they only operate Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Had to cancel the visit to Camiguin. Next year ill fly directly from Cebu so no surprises 😀.

    Sometimes it's a blessing in disguise to travel alone. Coz i notice with some vlogger couples, they interact less with the locals coz they have each other. I can see in your vlogs you make more friends coz you're alone.

    • @travelescapesOFFICIAL
      @travelescapesOFFICIAL  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is 100% true… when I travel with friends, I don’t speak to nearly as many locals, and I’m often less aware of the new town/city around me because I’m engaged in conversation with them. You can miss a lot that way.
