It is standard to place a sink on an exterior wall with a window so the woman can see what's going on outside. In the US Women used to keep an eye on the kids in the backyard or the front yard.

Sink always on external wall looking out the back , you could probably get a flexible gas rated hose & move the Cooktown 👍🏼you should have Mark's office & all his stuff in the smaller room & the bedroom should be tha room with the air-conditioning so everyone can be comfortable sleeping 👍🏼 in my opinion 👍🏼🤣
Same with Australian houses. But with the stove underneath the cupboards there is usually in western houses a exhaust fan that takes the excess heat & burnt smells out of the kitchen through a hole in the wall.
What do you both do for a job, wages for life, are non Filipino allowed to work in the Philippines?
The kitchen was designed perfectly so now your wife can look out the window while she's doing dishes.

Hi I’m still a newbie at your site. Here in the US people like the window over the sink for a couple of reasons you can open the window and breathe in fresh air while you’re doing dishes and you can look outside while you’re doing your dishes. It helps break down the monotony of the work. It also provides light to the kitchen so you use less electricity for lighting. As to the plug location we avoid putting them directly behind the stove but to the left or right of the stove so you can have plug-in cooking appliances. We also have a vent hood over the stove to take odors from cooking outside. If you don’t have a vent hood I could see having a stove under a window and a fan in the window to pull odors outside. Last thing we need is a smelly house. Gas pipe should always go down to the source behind cabinets. That’s just my two bits on the issue.
On a side-note; big windows provide an emergency escape route should your home catch on fire and your exit is blocked.

I'm impressed how cheap the rent is, but you are right: the kitchen is impractical and what would bother me more is the bathroom. The shower is right in the middle of the bathroom, so everything will be wet when you shower. And who would put two doors in one room? Maybe there were originally two small rooms and they knocked down the wall, but then they could have eliminated one door to make more space for furniture.
Yes exactly, this is the style of construction here quite often coco jumbo and move forward 😆

I really like your new place guys, your deserve a nice home, Maricar did a great job on the window drapes, I like the way the outside is set up it looks very nice I'm very happy for you both, also Matt, the kitchen's pretty nice for as small as it is and the window over the sink is great because that way when you're washing dishes you can see outside so that's a plus as far as the electrical outlet goes you can always get one with a circuit breaker on it that's made for kitchen areas, but I think the house is really great it's very cute ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Nice house tour, love it! Looks significantly bigger than the condo that my fiancé and I live in.
Agree with the kitchen setup, may be good to see if can use portable stove or induction cooker due to the safety hazard for the electrical plug and the cabinet on top.
Consider getting a mattress so it would be more comfy for your wife and kid. Installing a build in bed and cabinet can also save space. Or you can get those huge mattress that you can store items below it which eliminates the need of the cabinet in the room.

The kitchen sink under the window is normal in Canada 🇨🇦 and America 🇺🇸
we have older farm house here in Canada 🇨🇦 (on 60 acre’s of land) ..so when we are doing dishes or cooking in the kitchen we can watch the kids out in the backyard.. (we have bears & moose & deer that like to visit our farm)

Kitchen sink is mostly under the windows in my experience, looks normal to me, nothing wrong with that part of the layout, certainly room for improvement elsewhere,....................just not sure that the privacy aspect will suit you after a while, I gotta feeling the landlord will be around you alot of the time...................... but it's a cheap and great house for the money.a good find

I like that house very much. I think it’s very awesome. And I like the surroundings of the outdoors it looks very clean and very relaxing area to sit. And also the house has very nice tiles, and the neighborhood seems nice and quiet. And I think that the price that you got is a very good price. It is really awesome. We like it so much. The space is like happiness to me (Maricar) because when I have a big fabric to cut I will need a big space to put down and cut it. And I am more enjoying my sewing hobbies a lot. The place quite and far enough from the highway that you will not hear the noise of the vehicles. I use an induction top, keeps the heat down big time when cooking inside. Save the flame for outdoor cooking. Another fine video!

Very nice house, it's spacious inside,. l like the garden and your dog, seems like a quiet place. l think the price is quite good, because Dumaguete is often not cheap place for renting.
