You should never put rubbing alcohol or neosporin on your piercings. That alone was probably enough to irritate and infect your piercing. Really the only thing you should be using for this piercing is sea salt solution (i recommend H2ocean) and alcohol free mouthwash. Over-cleaning your piercing is also bad. Just a tip for you or anyone in the comments ❤️

I have 22 piercings and my cat has always slept with me. I have not had any infections in any of my piercings. Just saying But never use rubbing alcohol on a piercing, who on earth told you to do that! Salt water soaks are okay though.

Keep your bed clean and pillow cases very few days clean the outside 3 times a day with bactine or sea salt soaks or saline solution and tooth paste that won't irrited the piercing and alcohol free mouth washing and watch foods u eat as well

    Has it gotten any better?
I believe it just depends on the person, its different for everyone, i had my third piercing on my ear lobe and this one piercing did not heal till now, 2 years later! (my conch healed faster than this one) and i did everything for it, from changing to a longer bar to saline solution to tea tree oil, to just anti bacterial soap washing, and at the end only alcohol helped the infection go away. (yes i know ppl say not to do this but for ME it is the only thing that helped)
Whatever works for you and your piercing. Hope yours is better and healed at this point!

Hello! I want to tell you that I am going through the EXACTLY situation. I've got my philtrum piercing twice. First one, jewelry was too small for my lips and it got hugely swollen. Had to take it off. Did it again. I think I have it now for 3 months and hasn't healed yet. I got here because I have a huge bump on internal side and I am so tired of taking caring of this piercingggggggg

@@greggu00 Yes IT DID!! I took some time, I had to take care nicely using sea salt solution and cleaning it. I posted this 6 months ago and now it is so good! Even changed my jewelry :) Have faith and patience

Scares do fade and there are creams your dermatologist can give you. If the hole doesn't heal, there is also option of 'glueing' or a single stitch which is all you need. A friend of mine was in an accident with hers and her lip nearly split altogether and they glued it instead of stitches and she used a cream from her dermatologist and you would hardly notice it and that was an extreme situation so please don't worry! Xx

Cats shouldn't even be a problem. I have cats and several piercings, never had an issue so I really don't think that's the problem. Discharge and crusties are normal until piercing is fully healed. What were you using for cleaning supplies? What's your jewelry quality? Those are very important things and could be a huge factor in whether or not the piercing infects. Do not use rubbing alcohol ever! And never salt water! You need a premade saline solution like neilmed. Use twice a day. That is all you need for cleaning! Also since it's an oral piercing, non alcoholic mouthwash! No soaps or ointments. Ointment traps in bacteria, alcohol causes severe dryness and so does salt water. So now I definitely see why you had an infection that never went away.

Cool video, sorry you had so much trouble with this peircing. But I do want everyone to know that the healing process is different for everyone. My medusa took about 1 month to heal maybe a little more, I barley did any care for it just an alcohol free mouth wash and regularly washing my face and pillow cases. And no problems since 👌

Unfortunately it is still getting infected and it’s just not getting better. It’s not terrible, but it’s definitely a very delicate piercing.

I love cats but I'm mildly allergic as in itchy eyes and eczema around my scalp and ears so what I always did was have a cover over my pillows that I could take off at night and towels stay in the cupboards till used cos cats just think that's free real estate for their lil hairy butts lol
