Pettersson looked like pettersson . When miller went on that break. If pettersson goes back to normal with jt leaving . It is a high risk gamble. At same time. The dcore is so bad. It makes our offence look bad. Same time. Pettersson gives us so many powerplays , and plays defensively better than miller.
Trouble is - what do you get? I must think these two (or three) would demand 2-3 NHL starters and a high draft choice or prospect. Teams would have to except $11-12 MM salary cap hit - less the salaries going the other way. A team losing presumably their best three players - I just don’t know! Very few places where teams could handle these salaries!
Lock Miller in a room and show him Petterson’s stats with and without him present. Don’t let him out until he can acknowledge the negative impact he’s having. At the same time lock Petterson in a room and show him the same numbers and don’t let him out until he can accept he should be the same player whether Miller is around or not.
JT has 3 young kids, 2 dogs, and trophy wife = lots baggage to worry about besides hockey. Why would he agree to be traded now in the middle of a busy hockey season, kids in school, etc...?
Hopefully he just shuts it down and doesn't allow Allvin to double down on his mistakes. Need something to save them from pissing away a 100 point center to save Rick Tocchet.
I think it’s about time for two huge NHL rules! 1) no more NMClauses - or very narrow, perhaps 6 teams 2) your playoff team salaries MUST be within the NHL guidelines for cap space If a player is making over 10% of the team’s cap space - then the NMC is gone. A player MUST be on the roster 1 week before the start of playoffs - or not be allowed to play.
Demko struggled for a while after his last set of injuries too. It's gonna be a while before he gets back to form. Practice is good but it's not 200 pound guys doing their best to put that puck in with little to no regard for your health.
EP40 has been forced to cater to both Miller and Tocchet so perhaps the problem will not disappear until the coach changes his approach? EP40 just had to conform to playing shit minutes on second line with subpar line-mates (which is BS), while JT was allowed to bolster his numbers. Miller is an elite second liner, nothing more. His bullying is so distasteful, especially when you are not NUMBER 1. Hypocritical screaming does not work with quiet, world class players. Elias would have ended up exploding/killing Miller in an assassination if he would have allowed himself losing composure. And it is mis-coaching as well. If Bodreaux can get the best out of EP why not Tocchet? This is bloody obvious.

JT is not the main reason and not always the issue, 80% on the team underperformed, other than few guys did their jobs all should be ashamed , fans should stop going to home games , guys should man up and play like professional athletes who makes millions each year for giving such bad performances and attitudes
@ he should he gets pay to lead and score , that’s what star players do , but he ain’t the only one needs to man up and play like a pro. I think we all agree 80% on the team needs to man up as avg canadian makes about 66k per year , Canucks avg 3.8 m USD! So no excuses when supports make so little compare to them .
What needs to change is the terrible coach. Tocchet was criticized heavily for the lack of shots/lack of offence last year and this year is comically worse. A team with Hughes, Petey, and Miller is right at the bottom ofthe league in expected goals. They are on par with teams like Chicago. It's ridiculous. But the media would rather endlessly run with their bullshit narratives. Yes I'm treating it as bullshit, they have done with with every canucks core for forever.

There's an obvious bitterness going on between Miller & Pettersson & if you don't know how bad bitterness is, then you have no idea just how difficult it is to rectify, if at all possible. What actually happens is that these two players go through their thoughts many times per day & they both analyze themselves as in their situation & they both tell themselves that they did nothing wrong so their hurt feelings is legitimate & it is the other player that needs to apologize. It doesn't stop there either as both of them try to retain other players to support their cause & tell them that they are the one who is in the right & as a result, you end up with a team that is totally divided & cannot work together for the good of the team winning. The reason they cannot is because there are two teams that are competing against each other & one is the Hockey team trying to win the Hockey game while the two teams of Miller & Pettersson are also competing to win the game for each other in the field of [bitterness]. [IF] this were bitterness inside of a church congregation, it could be solved by the two meeting at the alter & giving the problems to God & getting up & walking away from that bitterness. In this case with the Hockey Team, one would have to say I am sorry but it is easier to say that it is to do because the longer this goes on the more difficult it becomes to deal with. I bet you that both these two players want this gone away as it is eating holes inside them but the bitterness is so deep that neither can find the will to give in & say i'm sorry because it would be like admitting you were wrong. Both feels like they are right & the other is/was wrong & neither can [ADMIT WRONG] because they both feel they are [right]. This is the difficulty these two players find themselves in & it is one of the most tough places that one can ever find themselves in in an entire lifetime. I [bet] if these two players read my comment here, they will both say that I described [exactly how they both feel] & they both want out off it but they feel [TRAPPED] in their situation. I bet I could help them both if I had the opportunity to speak with them first along then I would bring them both together & talk with them both together & they would both be very glad to put it all away right there & then? Their next Hockey Game would be the best Hockey Game of their entire Hockey careers as they would feel so free from this bitterness. God Bless

Not J.T 's fault... I'm convinced he just given up because most of his teammates are losers. (IE all the defence but Hughes). He showed this in Montreal by getting 4 points without breaking a sweat. and they still lost. Just pathetic.
JT Miller is the only tough guy on the team, Pettersson got a payday and quit - not to mention how soft the guy is. I'd take Miller every day of the week.
@senortano He signed his new contract on January 8. Prior to that, the first half of the season, he was putting up decent numbers. The slide really started after all-star. I'm not sure what difference it really makes. My point still stands.
If miller such a tough guy. Why doesn't he use his legs to beckcheck ? And help out. I am so sure miller got more vitality than pettersson does. To make that extra effort to skate back .
Funny to see some Canucks fans rip into Pettersson. I would gladly take him in Detroit and play him with Raymond. Wings loves Swedes and Swedes seem to love playing in Detroit. Only problem would be cap space during the season. Copp or Compher (cap reasons), Kasper or Danielson, a 1st round pick and heck i would even throw in Rasmussen which would also help with the cap.
Vancouver is a dumpster fire!! 1. Boesser is testing the market he's gone!! 2. Tocchet is done after this year and will be coach of the Philadelphia Flyers next season 3. Quinn Hughes 💯 is done 2027 he has no intentions staying and will head home USA!!

We obviously don't know the guy personally but look at the facts he has butted heads with others before. I would have taken Bo all day long. This is what Miller does can be the best player on the team one season then a ghost of himself the next, then add the attitude on top of that when the Nucks aren't winning.
This core is not a championship core and likely will never be. If the issue comes down to cliques in the dressing room, which has been rumored for years, then it'd be better to firesale the players, Hughes included since he'd jump ship to the Devils if this were to happen, and rake in as many draft picks as possible and start fresh around Lekkermaki and Willander. Hughes, Boeser, Petersson, Miller, Demko, could all fetch a first rounder + extra each and in 2-3 years a new core could be established with proper guidance. The Canucks are looking like the Oilers of old but without all of the first round picks that they had, and are now like the Sabres who can't get anything done despite the star players that they've had in the past.
Lekkermaki does look like he doesn’t bring emotional problems at home to the ice. Doesn’t seem to be the type who feels jealous of the success of others. I think he will have a good future in hockey. Him and Willander. I can’t wait for these guys to make marks in NHL and bring the cup to Vancouver.
The Canucks aren't going to rebuild after winning the division last year they have a team that's had everything go wrong and they're still right there and still a very dangerous team. They've had lots of very significant injuries, these injured players including Miller who's currently playing injured have had them not playing up to their individual potential and there's absolutely no chemistry on any lines because they get juggled nightly. In today's game if you are missing key pieces constantly and you're juggling lines every night that's a very big factor when games are so tightly contested and there's so much parody especially the Canucks losing so many games in OT. They get a handful of those wins they're sitting much prettier in the standings and not fighting everything so hard and all the foolish drama queen fans and media are probably at least less harsh on them and grilling them in every media scrum. The #1 thing that hurts them thats on management is that after Hughes and Hronek everyone has been horrible other than Forbort who does his job very well. They made a huge mistake thinking Myers, Soucy, Desharnais, Juulsen all could be relied on and it's backfired big time especially when Hughes and Hronek were injured and Demko has either been hurt or trying to find his game when he's played. This team is very capable of going back to their winning ways of last season and other than needing at least 1 top 4 defender they have everything they need they just need to stay healthy and fight through this individually and as a team and they'll be back to one of the better teams in the league like last year. For everyone who thinks the Canucks won't get back to being a very good team again hate to disappoint you but as long as they can now have some injury luck and they add a solid top 4 defender which they 100% will they'll definitely be a real playoff threat when that day comes and all this over the top media nonsense will be over.
As a fan of the team, and a US citizen, the one thing ive observed is Vancouver is an island unto its own. The fans are fickle and lot of them are bandwagon riders.
Yes, there are bandwagoners and fair weather fans like all other teams that become competitive and show up to the playoffs. But to blame the fans for being angry at the management for continuing to stifle the team with mismanagement for 55 years is a disingenuous way to represent real fans. I think the fans have earned the right to be angry when they’re continually let down. Not to mention that ticket prices have gone up just because of one playoff appearance. It cost $209 for student tickets yesterday.
Demko injury and sucking hurt the canucks. His play has carried them in the past even though guys like Hughes are diff makers also . Gotta move Miller and change makeup of team
Personally I don't find it embarassing when a team loses just because they're not cohesive on the ice or that there's too many AHL-worthy players, etc. you know, ON-ICE stuff. That's why I've always been okay with seeing my Canadiens down the barrel for quite some time up until recently. It's just part of the process. But when it comes to battles of egos and players who are paid a lot of money but can't act professional IMO it's a complete embarassment, especially with the ridiculous amount of money they make.
JT Miller minus Mitch Marner equals the Leafs, at least winning the conference. My apologies, Marner fans, but I strongly feel Mitch needs to go where nobody knows his name, and he’ll strive.(playoffs incl.)
Canucks need to fire tocchet and Allvin. Allvin was the one that gave them the worst d core in the league with some terrible signings like heinan and desharnais. And tocchet has lost the room, and now he's calling out individuals in the media which is the wrong method in a place like vancouver.
I don't think Tocchet has lost the room so much as he never had any answers to begin with. Guy rode outstanding individual performances to a Jack Adams but he was never any good as a coach. This became very obvious when Petey started playing badly and Demko got hurt and Tocchet responded by completely neutering the offense. Hasn't changed despite saying he would.
Anybody who thinks JT Miller is the problem should watch "Moneyball" and realize that stats ARE sports! Winnipeg Jets follow the principles of Jonah Hill... Canucks are polar opposites! more concerned with attitude and "yelling". this... is why your team is dropping faster than gravity itself!! How does a guy who gets 6 points in 3 games be considered on a cold streak?
The first person I would turn to is JT Miller. He is a first line all star player but apparently somewhat of a diva”. He left for three weeks (for whatever reason) earlier this season and appears he is not a leader or at least a good one or one that brings guys closer together and playing for each other. If moved this would be his fourth NHL team which is a lot for a player of his caliber. They need to do something quick if they want to stay in playoff hunt.
He wasn't a player of this caliber in NY or Tampa. He was a cap dump in Tampa. They needed the money for point and they decided to take Benning up on his offer of a first. people said it was overpayment because Miller was a cap dump.
@ No he wasn’t but he was still a first round draft pick and had a very high ceiling. Two teams moved on from him so often where there is smoke there is fire “

Trade Pettersson Miller and Boeser. Get younger upside. No way Van getting through Vegas, Oilers, Jets in the next couple years. Push the window down a few years and reload now.
I believe that its time to move Elias Pettersson. He is a player with considerable talent but he doesn't have the character to turn things around, he's lost his confidence and I don't think he has what it takes to get it back. There's no grit in his play, he's soft on the puck and it seems that when he does get the puck in the offensive zone, his priority is to get it to someone else. He's no longer a play maker. At best an eleven million dollar a year second or third string centre. Get rid of him now, get what you can, save some cap space and trust that Rutherford and Alvin can work some magic.

Absolutely divas
Try getting 11.8 ... and doing the same.
I'd love to get paid 11.6 million USD's and play like a third line winger.
@@roundnround365 Trade Petey for a 1st rounder and a third line winger who will actually break a sweat, unlike Elite Pete.
This sounds like a two player problem not just one individual. Vancouver, you better fix this and fix this quick
@ this is honestly the problem with the nhl today. You’re not even trading players your trading contracts
Because they would likely stay behind until the offseason.
100% Its not JT's job to fix the Team. Give Tocchet till the end of season to turn it around.
Hopefully he just shuts it down and doesn't allow Allvin to double down on his mistakes.
Need something to save them from pissing away a 100 point center to save Rick Tocchet.
I think it’s about time for two huge NHL rules!
1) no more NMClauses - or very narrow, perhaps 6 teams
2) your playoff team salaries MUST be within the NHL guidelines for cap space
If a player is making over 10% of the team’s cap space - then the NMC is gone.
A player MUST be on the roster 1 week before the start of playoffs - or not be allowed to play.
So your family is garbage? Nice.
Omg...long time nucks fan...i cant take much more!
The coach looks so defeated. Team is done.
To me last year this team overachieved this year underachieving.
Demko sounds like he may not physically be the same, that's the end of the story every thing up is fixable .
Demko struggled for a while after his last set of injuries too.
It's gonna be a while before he gets back to form. Practice is good but it's not 200 pound guys doing their best to put that puck in with little to no regard for your health.
@@AnthM33 in other words , he's quite similar to the arc of Carey price , and the infamous kreider caused intentional unintentional knee injury

JT Miller is a cancer on the team. Who would want an overpriced cancer on your team? Hard pass from NJ. Now I would trade for Peterson in a heartbeat
Miller is the problem. He doesn't want to be here, so move in from him. There were issues between him and Bo Horvat and now him and Pettersson.
Any fan with half a functioning brain has issues with Pettersson. Soft as a cupcake and MIA for a year and 11.6.
Guys like JT always have issues. He would be addition by subtraction.
JT is not the main reason and not always the issue, 80% on the team underperformed, other than few guys did their jobs all should be ashamed , fans should stop going to home games , guys should man up and play like professional athletes who makes millions each year for giving such bad performances and attitudes
This is iften the case! For example: look at Detroit after their coaching change. I really believe Lalonde was a toxic coach!
Petterssson only 10 goals. On a pace for about 20. This guy should be scoring at least 40 goals a year or more.
Nucks suck

Yep except Hughes and the under rated Blueger and Garland Lank the rest of this team is trash
We can all agree on that.
Vancity will be lucky to get a wild card spot.....but most likely golfing in April and watching real teams on TV.

I disagree about the media in Vancouver, it's quite clear the players have grown very tired of them. Petey just walked off on them mid interview, and last night Miller "You just answered your own question".
Petey didn't walk off mid interview. Other reporters that were there said that has been misinterpreted in the clip that was shown and that the media avail. was over. I believe even the reporter that asked the last question that he rolled his eyes at has said that. He scoffed at the last question (which was stupid and repetitive) paused for more questions, there were no more questions..so he left. Good that there are no "locker rooms" in The NHL.

Nobody talking about Brock Boeser he’s been invisible out there lately.
JT Miller is the only tough guy on the team, Pettersson got a payday and quit - not to mention how soft the guy is. I'd take Miller every day of the week.
Petey was slumping before the new contract. Mgmt thought resigning would fix him and it didn’t 🙄

The issue comes down to not having enough depth.
That's it.
Hughes to the devils is a ridiculous pipe dream. How the fuck would they afford that?
It's all Canadian teams besides Toronto and Montreal. I'm a jets fan and when the jets do well all of a sudden everyone is a jets fan.
Vancouver does have the worst fans. No sense of humour.
@@samuelpratt642I’m not even mad at management. Im mad at these players, and I’m mad at aqua man.

Quinn Hughes isn’t ready to be captain
Why does this channel talk more about rhe Canucks than their own team ?
Anybody who thinks JT Miller is the problem should watch "Moneyball" and realize that stats ARE sports! Winnipeg Jets follow the principles of Jonah Hill... Canucks are polar opposites! more concerned with attitude and "yelling". this... is why your team is dropping faster than gravity itself!!
