Likely any acidic solution that changes the pH of the skin of the snails will make the snail glands produce more slime. Solve some citric acid or vinegar in water and apply it yto snails. According to chatGPT: "For snail farming, it’s important to maintain a safe environment for the snails to thrive. Citric acid can be used, but in controlled amounts. Studies suggest that citric acid is safe for various animal species when used up to 30,000 mg/kg in feed and 10,000 mg/L in water"

They dehydrate the slime. This process kilss all living microorganisms, including bacterias, amoebas, fungi, etc. . After that they rehydrate the slime

When the snails make bubbles they’re scared and try to defend themselves. I always wondered how the slime is extracted but I don’t like the process...snails are very sweet animals
No. That is a sign of being in pleasure as well. You’re not entirely correct.
@@SamHami89 I have 55 pet snails and they never bubbled as a sign of pleasure. I also feed the snails in my car park and same thing there so that’s what I see. When I stroke their shells and they enjoy it (not all of them but those I handled more frequently since birth) they close their eyes and just chill and not bubbles so I’m not sure where you got that. But maybe different breeds do different things, although I doubt it. I don’t mean to be cocky I’m just talking about my experience.
Also in the case of this video, I can confidently say they hardly enjoy being sprayed. They don’t like strange things and being taken and washed and piled up must hardly be pleasant, in fact they are inside their shell, they’re scared.

@@nauticdixons speculation based on emotion? Excuse me? I own snails. I had 55 at the time of my previous comment, now babies have been born so I have more then 55, likely 75 now. My snails live in an outdoor enclosure therefore free to behave and live as they would in nature without an owner, with the only difference being that I give them food.
So I watch them everyday ( I know how they behave ), I handle them, feed them, repair their shells if they break, clean them. So I can confidently tell you that snails do not bubble for pleasure. They show that behaviour when they’re scared and to me that indicates that the guy in the video doesn’t handle them correctly and even more worrisome there must be something inside what he sprays them with, that scare the snails and/or cause them pain.
I never said I know a method of how to extract slime. If I had to do it I would just find a way to collect it naturally, but obviously that isn’t financially viable as you would not have the same amount of slime.
The person who commented after my original comment is a snail owner and confirmed just what I said. If you don’t know something, don’t just go around accusing ppl that actually know what they’re talking about. Speculation based on emotion!
