Eddie was a great entertainer, that never should be forgotten. I really miss his music. I remember his Brother, living in Nashville. He really took care of his Brother. He will be rewarded for that. May God bless Eddie.
The first time I ever got the pleasure of hearing him sing was 1976 in a dive bar in Killeen, Texas , i was 15 yrs old ,my dads best friend was National Gaurd , he was on 2 week training exercise dad I drove to Killeen from FtWorth to visit. We went to this dive bar for them to have a couple of beers, I drank dr pepper. Eddie came out and sang Kentucky Rain , I was an instant fan , I had only heard Elvis sang that song , that was 47 yrs ago
This is such a wonderful interview with the great Eddie Rabbitt. He was so handsome, charming and talented. As much as he toured and gave interviews there must be many more that could be released for public viewing but they are rare. Thank you for posting this.
I was only 5 years old when he was on the radio. I used to sit with my radio and impatiently wait for the station to play him. My parents felt so bad for me that they dialed the station and put me on the phone. The DJ thought it was so cute that he had me wait to ask again on the air. "Can you pway 'I wove a wainy night' by Eddie Wabbitt, pwease?" He was my idol. I still love him to death. He makes me so happy just listening to him. So cool. Just the way he talked and moved. and he was the coolest guy who ever lived. I love you, Eddie Wabbitt. I miss you.
I was a teenager and had to hear him on the radio too, I love all his songs , Here listening now, the power of talent in the man’s voice, much enjoyed listening completely!! 💓
Eddie had such a great personality, he is so easy going and intelligent in this discussion/ interview. I was like 10 yrs old at the height of his fame I loved his songs on the radio and still sing them to myself at 52. I’m sure. It’s the same with thousands of folks. He is missed for sure.
It was 1980-couple, Eddie came to the Utah state fair, it was raining like nobody's business, Eddie came to the stage and when Kentucky Rain came on, he pulled the environment into his performance, we all were soaked and miserable when the show was over, but for the time we were there, nobody cared, we got to see Eddie Rabbitt... and that was all that mattered.
What an awesome person he was. So sad that he is no longer with us tho, God only takes the best first, they say and it is sure true in Eddie’s case. Wonderful man and such a great singer. God bless you and Rest In Peace , you are so loved and missed. 💞
Grew up listening to his music through my Grandmother, and she would always say "Damm that's a good looking man" he always sang catchey tunes that you catch yourself singing even to this day.
Both ladies were just overtaken by mr. Rabbit but that pretty little Ole brunette was checking him out pretty intensely, specially when he got up to go sing. Such a great voice and natural talent
The hosts would have dedicated the whole damn month to him, if the had the chance. My God. Control yourselves ladies!!! LOL! Also, Ive never heard that song before. It was awesome Might be one of my faves. Great video.
Nice fiddle work, but why does his fiddle have (green) duct tape on it? I remember reading once where Rabbitt said he incorporated a lot of minor chords in his tunes due to his influence from the Irish music. You can kinda understand that after hearing the 2nd part of the performance.
It was to close the F holes in the fiddle... His name is Bill Rehrig. Believe it or not my dad taught him how to play guitar and fiddle many years ago, he was only a teenager when he would come to our house and spend hours playing. Eventually he became better than dad and left Pa. to go to Nashville, first with Tanya Tucker, then Dolly Parton, and finally with Eddie. Dad used to tape on a reel to reel whenever he came up to visit us and they played for hours (no cell phones then). He had the first Walkman I ever saw. He also gave me an old Vox bass that he had (and I still have). Ah the memories...
@bigsmoke394 yes, lots of memories of dad and Bill. After my dad passed, when he would come home to visit his family in Lehighton PA he would always stop in and say hi to mom and me. Last time I saw him he told us that Rabbitt had lung cancer, before anyone else knew. We also got to meet Dolly through him. I was around 14 then. She was getting ready to perform at the Grand Ole Opry. She was in her dressing room getting her hair fixed but still took the time to talk to me and my mom. Beautiful and a very sweet lady. She of course wouldn't remember me, but I will never forget.
I met the Great Mr. EDDY Rabbit in Nashville, l didn't know what a wonderful man he was, want to tell everyone l loved this amazing human being, he was very kind to me and I will never forget him and his wonderful wife ❤️ 💙, thank you Mr. EDDY Rabbit for being in my life, l miss you and your wife with all my heart ❤️ 💙 💜

I think you meant "1998" for date of death. Otherwise, he did a lot of concerts while deceased!
Wow! I would have never thought he was from the northeast.
