    He was one of the most talented artist to have ever lived! 25 number ones in his short time is crazy! I started listening to Eddie as a teenager in the late 70’s and was so saddened when he died. RIP, your music will last forever!

      I hear you Larry, I am the age right now when eddie passed, 56 and as a teen i loved all of his music, especially rocky mountain music! Listen to his music everyday especially when driving my truck! RIP Eddie! :(

      25 true #1s on the BB C & W chart? ??? No way .. I was thinking closer to 5, maybe .. I DJed C &W in the late '70s and early '80s at a large AM radio station, when Eddie was at his peak .. The only big hits of his I remember spinning are Step by Step (IMHO, his best) .. Drivin' My Wife Away, I Love a Whiny Dyke, and Every Which Way But Goosed .. 😆

      And to think, when he started out "people in the know" told him "you need to take voice lessons" .. (which he did, and the rest is history) .. Same story for Elton John ..

    Eddie Rabbitt is one of those great artists that seems to have been swept under the rug by historians. He was a song writer for a long while prior to being a recording artist. His songs were straight forward, and he had a tight band. It was music that most people could just pick up and play if they know a bit of guitar.

    • @attygarland6909
      @attygarland6909 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      25 #1 hits? That # doesn't sound right .. too high, unless they are including tunes he wrote for other artists who had a #1 hit with it/them. Even his "#1 Hits" compilation album released a few years ago had less than a dozen songs on it.

    For those who wanna know why there's no Jamboree in the hills this year (2019) according to Live Nation they said its due to low ticket sales & its also due to fans NOT being allowed to bring their own beer onto the grounds. Guess they want ya to pay for the beer when you attend the event. Live Nation went on to say one of the reasons behind the low ticket sales was due to the quality of entertainment or the lack there of. In short allow me to simplify this for ya} If Live Nation wants or expects fans to lay out their hard earned money for a 4 day music festival where you HAVE TO PAY FOR BEER & NOT BE ALLOWED TO BRING IN YOUR OWN, then Live Nation had best put on some decent shows with TOP NAMED TALENTS instead of only having a few big names being booked while the other 80% of the artist are garage bands at best. That's why there's no Jamboree in 2019. Fans grew pissed off at the LACK OF TALENTS BEING BOOKED & NOW LIVE NATION WANTS FANS TO PAY FOR THEIR OWN BEER TO WATCH THIS SHIT. Tell ya what, SAVE YOUR MONEY & JUST GO & LISTEN TO A BAR BAND AT THE LOCAL PUB. You'll get the same experience while you'll be saving a few hundred bucks.
    My solution is this} If Live Nation wants fans to PAY FOR THE BEER, Then here's a solution. The first TWO DAYS OF THE FESTIVAL if Live Nation wants to book a bunch of garage bands/bar bands, then fans will have the OPTION TO EITHER BRING IN THEIR OWN BEER OR BUY THE BEER AT THE EVENT.
    But on DAYS 3 & 4 OF THE FESTIVAL, have Live Nation BOOK BIG NAMED TALENTS ONLY & FANS WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE BEER ON THE GROUNDS & WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO BRING IN THEIR OWN. TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT, Live Nation. IMO I think fans are getting tired of being screwed or ripped off with these kind of bookings. They want fans to pay up the ass for tickets for this event but all they wanna do is book 80% of no named talents & adding insult to injury NOW THEY WANT FANS TO PAY aka INVEST EVEN MORE MONEY JUST TO WATCH THIS CRAP. And I think THAT'S why ticket sales are down & attendance figures are down. In short, if Live Nation expects fans to show up & spend money, Live Nation had BEST GIVE THE FANS SOMETHING FOR THE MONEY INSTEAD OF FLOODING THE FESTIVAL WITH A BUNCH OF NO NAME TALENTS. You can't have it both ways Live Nation. And that's why there'll be no Jamboree in 2019 & to be honest, that's also why Live Nation will never get a dime from me. If that's how Live Nation wants to treat the fans, Live Nation can KISS MY ASS!!!

      I went to the first two Jamboree in the Hills in 1977 and 1978 and so many big country music acts were there: Johnny Cash and June Carter, Tom T. Hall, Tammy Wynette, Ronnie Milsap, Charlie Rich, Barbara Mandrell - I am leaving many out.

      @@mysticmaverick1 I here ya my friend! I use to read up on past acts from previous Jamboree In The Hills shows & the list of the many talents who performed read like a who's who of great talents. Waylon Jennings I think was at at least 1 show & there was Charlie Daniels & the list is just too long to read em all. But anymore, its just a garbage fest of no name talents mixed in with very few if any big named established talents. It's simply not worth the asking price. The wife & I will simply buy dvd concerts of our favorite acts & watch it that way, away from the drunks, away from all the traffic & away from all those ridiculous high prices. Plus, we'll have the best seats in the house, the sound quality will be better & we'll not have to pay for any food or drinks & best of all we won't have to walk a country mile just to use the crapper which dare I say at one of these Hills events the crappers are usually filthy as hell. Indoor dvd concerts ROCK!!! Now let Live Nation go & cut their teeth on that!

      @@allancove4483 I was very young when I went to JITH, so I was able to tolerate the crowds. I went with a friend and we slept in tents, couldn't do that now! I remember it being really hot too. But most of all I remember the great music and am grateful I went when I did!

      Wearing the wedding band on the right hand is a longtime European custom. Both parents were from Ireland, so, perhaps that was a family tradition. 🤔 Also, if he kept it on his right hand constantly, perhaps he did so for private physical reasons.🙂💕Sure do admire and respect him! 😀

    How many singers do you hear that sound the same live as on the recordings? None except for Eddie rabbit.
