The filter they got helps remove sediment. A carbon (activated charcoal) filter should be used to remove impurities and improve taste for drinking water. That would usually be placed under the kitchen sink.
Better put a water floater valve so when the tank is full it automatically stops. Once the level goes down the water fills up auromatically...that is what we have at hone.
The float valve they got is similar to the older style used in toilet tanks. The newer style ones don't use the ball and are more accurate and adjustable. Robby seemed to be looking at one on the display but maybe it cost much more?

Yah, Cyd! I put aspirin on the water vase for flowers. I cut the stem end diagonally for more surface area for water absorption, at least every 2 days and my roses are good for weeks. The stems get shorter but still beautiful and blooming. I arranged the flowers dome-like till they get closer to the vase from frequent cutting. Robby seems to enjoy beauty in the house. I don’t blame him. MJ’s learning a LOT!

My husband says just change the water but once they start to smell I throw them out. Skeptical about sugar. Want to see how Mj’s does with sugar.

Then wall in the current part of the porch, extend the bathroom (maybe a tub or shower), and the rest of the current porch could be an office. Under the new extended part of the new porch, make a storage area for all the stuff you're acuminating. haha It would be a great project! And you need it. A bigger bathroom, an office, and a new back porch with walled in storage underneath.

Water filters should have a micron rating. The lower the number, the more stuff it filters out. Water filtering should be done in stages. 20 micron, 10 micron, 1 micron, etc... The smaller micron rated filter cost more and if you stage them, they last longer.
I wonder why our grandparents, great grandparents who never had any of the gadgets like what we have today..like a water filter😊..worst of all consumed untreated water from a Well..lived beyond 90..
There is a difference between sediment filters and purification filters. We have well water and because of the new builds now days with all the pumps for under floor heating, some appliances and water heaters the warranty is no good if you don’t have a sediment filter. The sediment filter does not purify the water it just keeps partials from entering your household water. So I’m still drinking the same well water my grandparents and parents drank. We change the filter once a year not because it’s dirty just because we think we should. Hope that helps.
