Hi Cindy,I am also legally blind with limited vision,I use a white cane,I use a talking scale when I am cooking or baking,I have a talking weight scale to keep an eye on my weight,I use colored cutting boards and colored knives,I use a lighted magnifier to read my magazines books etc.
Some day in the near future I am going to live on my own but for now I live at home helping my senior mom, niece and disabled nephew and our 2 female spayed therapy cats
The garage that usually oven and taking out dishes and anything that’s made of glass. That might be perfect for me Cindy because in the kitchen I like cooking and when I’m trying to take a dish out of the oven, that’s harsh I use of gloves, but sometimes I’m afraid - I’ll get burned so good idea on the front anyway.
Thank you for these tips. I have now bought these items. I hope they help when they arrive. I am struggling with sight loss so trying to find things that will help. I look forward to more tips from you.

Awesome ideas, I also have transferred over to braille labeling. And on my oven dial since I have the older style stove, I use something called pass paint from the craft store which makes a small dot for the three 54,50 etc. makes it easier for me to find it And they do have some colors which I can still see some colors. Thank you for all your awesome hints.
Absolutely! So glad you enjoyed and and found it helpful. I appreciate you watching and commenting. Ihave heard of puff paint and many find it very helpful. It's not my preference, but that is why I do what i do. To help us all discover what works for us, and what doesn't. Blessings. 💚👩🦯
How do you pour coffee or creamer in a cup without missing the cup. My mother is 100 and lives alone, has low vision, and frequently will spill something she is pouring.. any ideas for me to get her. ( She had been doing pretty good but vision is worse.)
Hi seeing blind,I am visually impaired, partially sighted with limited vision and I use a white cane. With ongoing eye issues that I have to go see my eye doctor and specialist doctors whenever my eyes act up.I used to use a liquid indicator but something happened to it so I have to go get another one soon.I use measuring cups that are hard for me to use and see what the sizes are,I have a talking scale that tells me what to measure up in the cups,I have measuring spoons that are hard for me to see them when I am in the kitchen baking my recipes or cooking on the stove but I manage to make my meals and desserts and I haven't burnt myself or my meals or desserts and my mom or niece helps me out in the kitchen because I am a short statutes middle aged lady that I need help in the kitchen.Where can I buy the collapsible measuring cups?
