Most news sources in Portugal are mentioning the increase in Eucalyptus and Pine forests. Eucalyptus trees are not native and they burn really well & the pine mono-cultures are not a natural forest so that burns quickly too. It is very hot here but native trees don't burn like invasive ones.
Hoping for that promised rain here in Augalonga, Portugal later this week. The sky to the south was very red this evening as fires spread throught the area. .
I am so happy Sarajevo my home city has exceeded the mo thly average for September and water restrictions will be lifted. I really hope SW Europe will soon have better conditions.
Here in Lisbon, the sky is weird. Almost looks dirty. These fires are just so massive it’s filling all of Portugal with smoke even though the fires are far away…

for once I wouldn't mind some cooler and wetter weather here. where I m is not in the worst areas hit by the wildfires, but yesterday we still had a fire right on the outskirts of the city, so that in addition to the smoke from the other wildfires that is also reaching us has just been so damn awful
Does not look it will rain in Aveiro region where it's more necessary. So far so good here in Minho but today we got the smoke from Aveiro and I'm 150 kms away. I have never seen só many fires going on at the same time ( and starting in the midle of the night!)

Hey! Thanks for subscribing, I appreciate it! Yeah, I have to say, these floods were probably the worst natural disaster I’ve tracked in Europe so far. Floods seem to be a bigger and bigger issue. In fact, I’m from North Carolina USA, which just got devastated by some of the worst flooding in the state’s history, very strong winds, and even tornadoes because of Hurricane Helene. Over 1,000 missing.
@@WeatherWatcher14 More unstable and extreme weather is probably the result of global warming, right? The only thing I know is that warmer climate means weaker polar vortex which means more wobbly jetstream, but I guess it's only one of the reasons. 1000 [possible] casualties, that's insane. NC has about the same population as CZ, we here can't even begin to imagine a disaster of this size. I hope your friends and family are safe.
@@frufruJ Absolutely, and thank you. Unfortunately many of my friends were affected, one was killed by a tree that sliced through the house. This was a truly historic and abnormally destructive storm for that part of America.
It was 23° here in Donegal Ireland today big full moon big there was a big swell on the sea along the shore some dangerous conditions don't like it im not sure the good weather is going to stay with us long the sea can give you warnings sometimes

Italy looks stormy at times next week, but it seems like it has been all summer haha! I’m not seeing anything particularly alarming, but make sure to recognize the dangers of lightning/torrential rains even in “average” storms.
luckily hungary avoided almost all of these shit, our only problem now is the water level of the danube slowly increasing (but wont reach the record 2013 flood level, it will peak 50cm lower) but nothing serious like in czechia, slovakia, poland and austria

This summer (Which is still going on in Finland, Maybe not in Lapland, but even there is still warmer than usual) in Finland has already broken an all-times record of the most heatwave days during summer in Finland (Former record was 65 days and that has been broken twice in this month alone, and heatwaves in this month are somewhat rare, I mean, it happens, but not every year). Tomorrow might be yet another heatwave day, and if somewhere in Finland temperature rises over 25,0, then that breaks yet another record, which is the latest time during September, which heatwave temperatures has been recorded (current record is from 17.09.1947), but during the coming weekend, Finland finally loses its summer, and fall begins.
