I mean this series showed that we can compete with a team like the dodgers.It also showed all of our flaws like you said. We need to sweep the Rockies or get back to a groove before the deadline.
Need to at least win. To go .500 from the break to the deadline they needed to go 5-5 they are now 0-4 which means they need to go 5-2 the rest of the way a sweep feels like a necessity here.

My thoughts: From the beginning of the season we were not supposed to win with the team we have. Now that we are in a position to make a wild card push, i don’t think the red sox buy or sell. maybe add a piece that could help but not a top tier guy. what the front office could be thinking is that our younger guys are stepping up and getting better for the future and there is no need to rush the process. i think next year is the year we make big strides but i do hope they invest in this years team, this year feels special
We've always been terrible coming out of the All Star Break so it was tough that we had to face such a good team

Our last 3 game sweep was against the Os in April. No panic yet, but for the love of god can they stop putting Weissert in clutch situations. Hes been bad for 2 months.

This series was brutal. But I don’t see ownership letting Craig add and I certainly don’t see them adding anyone of note. They are already set on selling.
This was only one series. There's still plenty of time left. There's no need to push the panic button on this season. Yes, some adjustments need to be made however, this could be the wake up call this team really needs.
It was absolutely not a good series, but as you said it's just one series. Now the team has to "Cowboy up" (to borrow Kevin Millar's phrase from 2003) and figure out what went wrong and try to fix it.
So a few things to take from the sweep, I still like this team in terms of showing a bright future, however I think the sweep has actually determined what direction to Sox will take at the deadline. Breslow is on record for two things, that they will pick a side on what they will do on the deadline and they will base this on the probability of if they will make the playoffs. The Sox have one of the worst records in the league against teams with winning records, and the schedule in the 2nd half is brutal where they will be facing a bunch of those teams. I really want them to add but I think they will stick to their plan of 2026 and if that is the case they will be sellers at the deadline. They have 7 games left before the deadline so they will need to get really hot and win at least 5 of them in order to have any chance of changing Breslow's mind. I don't think Breslow will look at the team and say we could have won 2 of the games if I got them improvements, instead it has made it show a lot more of our weaknesses and just how much we would need to add in order to change that up. It's too bad because if they do sell, Cora is most likely gone and to the Yankees most likely and that would be another slap in the face to the fans of Boston.

I wouldn’t say it was a hard to watch series considering they stayed competitive and as far as their production with runners in scoring position, it was definitely low but should be fixed while playing the rockies. I expect at least 2 wins against the rockies and fast bounce back for the team. no one can break the confidence of this young team.
The Bullpen blew this series for them. This team is also 27th in LOB and 29th in strikeouts. What is Fatse teaching these guys?
They should consider picking up France, a RH bat who can play 1st for them.

its a series of things cant do anything with runners on or scoring position never seem to have heard the word sacrifice always taking the big swing for homerun and cant evenget ball out of infield sticking with pitchers too long i can see when about done but expecting a little more
they played well and show heart but what killed me is the sunday streak is over.

You get us excited about the prospects like Christian Campbell but the Sox keep these guys in the minors forever. If your not going to trade or bring them up, go after released players. Nick Ahmed has good lefty splits.

This was a bad matchup for the Sox, with that being said they were 2 or 3 pitches away from winning a few of these games. Bernardino seems to have lost his magic as of late.

It was the $1 Billion Dodgers vs. the Red Sox and the Power of Friendship. All things considered, I think this is a good sign for the Red Sox. Sure they got swept, but two out of those three games were very winnable. I strongly believe that the front office will see this series and recognize that this Red Sox team is legit, and feed into it with some talent at the deadline.
I completely disagree. The analytics tell Breslow they need to win games rather than having a winning formula. I wish I wasn’t that way, but it is. I hope we buy without giving up too too much, but we’ll see I guess.

They should have won at least one of those games… quite possibly two of them. They need an impact right hand bat. I hear what you are saying about the line up struggling against lefties, but they were able to get runners in scoring position… so having an impact righty bat is going to help getting runs across the plate.

@@redseatradio he won’t be. But clearly O’Niell, Refsnyder, and Wong have shown they can hit left hand pitching. Rafaela is very clutch with runners on. And that does not even account for Duran and Devers who are effective against anyone. So having that one extra bat fills a critical gap.
Obviously no one in Red Sox nation is happy today. However it's not time to panic if they are able to win the Colo series everyone should feel better. As you pointed out they didn't get wiped out 2 games were very winnable. Hopefully they will add and not use this series as a reason to stand pat. Everyone knows what they need we'll see if they can get the help the team needs.
Yeah the big problem with the Sox is that they are so exposed in their weaknesses, it is going to make it tough for them to to find a solid deal
It hurts to lose to the overrated dodgers and you are right, there’s a lot of yes’s and no’s! .. I’m keeping it 100, but the fact the bull pen lost to dodgers , not because they were better, but the fact that we lost.. man this is nasty! To admit ! Nasty!!!! And anything but the dodgers

when you play one of the top teams in baseball its hard to expect a win, but frankly i dont think we did too bad at all. ok so being swept is never good but better by a team like the dodgers rather than the white sox so to speak. yes they rubbed our noses in it but for the first 2 games and especially the first we were close. so my feeling is that this could spur us on. i think if the Rockies give us a kicking then its time to start to worry. before the break we were doing well and although sometimes a break is what players need to recharge the batteries, sometimes it can also turn against you with the loss of momentum. was this the case? who can tell
The Red Sox could definitely have won the first two games of the series against the Dodgers. Hope that does not impact ownership from doing something at the trade deadline.

I agree that we shouldn't jump to conclusions. Fortunately there are 6-7 more days before the deadline when the team can prove they're not overtired or tailing off because they were overachieving. If it ends up taking the addition of 1-2 RH bats and 1-2 starters and 1-2 relievers to be competitive, that's potentially a huge hit on the future.

Maybe its just me but this series did not worry me too much. Yes we got swept but we had a lot of good moments. We basically just need to do what we did, but better and thats something i have confidence we can do. Great video again corbin, we got this.

playing one of the best teams in baseball isnt easy, but this was a massive blown chance. As you said, not clutching up on both sides of the ball really cost them. I’m hoping we can bounce back, but this was their worse series obviously in 2+ months.

Go get Whit Merrifield,, right handed batter than can play second and the outfield. Would cost next to nothing, John Henry and the boys would like that. Yemi Garcia with the Jays could really help the bullpen and would not cost an arm and a leg. You are right, a starting pitcher is a must, time to sweep the Rockies.

The only thing ONLY thing that would turn the Red Sox from clear buyer to seller is poor play before the break. Thats exactly what they are doing. I had tickets for all three games. I gave my game 3 tickets away after that absolutely brutal 2nd game. Red Sox need to sweep Colorado and win 2 of 3 from the Yankees to right this ship.
It was a tough series. I said before the break that they need to go at least .500 before the deadline that would have to have them winning 2-3 in the next 2 and their first mariners game which is possible but its significantly hardeer
