      I'm just sad they didn't translate that to the animated version, Percy just stands there rather stoic while Taliesin was visually horrified at the table.

    I love how in character Laura is after Vex comes back. The way her face falls when Grog just outright tells her that she died was great acting.

    As someone who got into Vox Machina without ever seeing any of the physical campaigns, I'm in love with how much they translated to the show. It only makes me love the show more, I can see why Critical Role is so popular!
    I've tried DnD a couple times with friends and all sessions fell through in the end, so seeing campaigns as detailed and invested as these is just so cool. Unfortunately half of the friends that attended such sessions are busy with college right now, so we can't easily do a new campaign, but I would love to get everyone back together and do a campaign that finally gets somewhere.
    Man, I've never had a show make me recall so many good memories, for that alone this show's an 11/10 for me

    I love how well they translate the game to screen animation. The ONLY change that I dislike is that they made Zahra and Kash fully antagonistic towards VM in the series. Other changes haven't bothered me, that's the only one. Thanks for making this comparison video, I had forgotten how many of the lines from the series actually came from the table in this scene.

    • @555smo

      Personally I like how Cash and Z are cold to the group but then warming up to VM despite them being introduced offhand as previous acquaintances like in the campaign

    • @TieflingKumasi
      @TieflingKumasi ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I wouldn’t say FULLY antagonistic, since Zahra showed concern for Vex
      And animated Kash just had that cockiness that a lot of Will Friedle’s roles are known for

      @pokkitsize ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TieflingKumasi Sure, but I'd say unleashing a monster on them is pretty antagonistic, though Kash did convince Zahra to change her mind afterwards and help them.

      Tbf, their role in the story is competing mercenaries, they were overly friendly in the table campaign because they were actually friends.
      Zahras voice, Mary Elizabeth mcglynn, officiated Laura and Travis wedding.
      Another thing to consider is their relationship was cold and distant at first in the game and Zahra eventually warmed up to vox machina, but their early adventures with Zahra were cut out because they involved tiberius. So they don't know her as well here in the show as theu did in the game.

      This was the first episode back after his mother’s funeral and having his in game sister die on top of it was a bit overwhelming. Plus he was trying to give up his character because he always said Vax would die for Vex and he wanted to use it as a way to step back and take some time off to deal with things, but instead…well….
      He was in a very poor headspace for a while, but has mentioned several times since that the game and being with his friends helped his mental health a lot in the long run.

      If you dont play you wouldnt get the attachment to a character you made. They have their own stories and a lot of thought goes into one. You form a bond with the other table characters and all that theres a lot of attachment to a long played character especially

      So, what I've recently learned is that Matt was going to automatically allow it anyway. It was because Liam was going through a lot of hard times and was really depressed and Matt basically made a call to do the whole "Touched by fate" plot for Vax as a way to help him through it.
      That being said in a normal campaign, yes it probably would've failed... but In this one.. I believe it was going to be successful no matter what

    • @rebeccatrishel
      @rebeccatrishel ปีที่แล้ว

      There's other ways to resurrect characters, but it would really depend on what the players decide to do and if Laura wanted to have her character revived or start playing a new one
