Imagine the match between these two behind closed doors. Not only would there be fake crowd noises/cardboard cut outs of fans in the stadium, there'd also be bloodthirsty cardboard hooligan carnage outside the ground.

As a Millwall fan I love this Great collection of vids - A such massive club such as Leeds hold us in great esteem as we do them 'MFC - Biggest Small Club in the WORLD'. We'd be lost without each other for too long and football would suffer even more sansitisation without us bucking that pathetic trend - cant wait for another full away end at the Den and another dodgy trip to ER xxxx

Brilliant video, however you need to make an edit around the 4:04 mark, its implied it was a millwall fan pushing the steward when it was a Leeds fan, and a huge passionate Leedss fan at that
I didn't, people are aware where the Millwall fans were situated, clear that it was a Leeds fan in the South Stand👍🏻
It's obvious who is who Leeds fans in South stand Millwall in cheese wedge and if like you said you know the lad pushing the steward then you know he was Leeds and yeah I know the lad in the clip also. If that really did ruin the video for you which in my opinion was a really great put together video lockdown must have got to you. Brilliant video Lufc lewis, went to millwall at the old den in 1986 & 1987 as a 14/15 yr old and it was an experience I will never forget.....
You're right it's not a real rivalry, it's about who's the hardest firm outside of the Prem.
As a Leeds fan from the '60s and living in Yorkshire the team on top of the team fan "hate" list was always Man Utd, these firm rivalries were always in the minorities.

Shame you didn't go back to our meeting in November 1985, at Cold Blow Lane, only our 5th ever meeting and first for almost 40 years. This was the first time we played them in the hooligan era and this was a mighty clash of hooligan firms. They were dark, sinister times, you sensed your life was in danger going to football. I'll never forget coming into Millwall that cold grim day, into a toilet of a stadium and feeling dangerous hostility all around. There was evil in the air. The return fixture at Elland Road on a sunny April day in 1986 was absolute class. Leeds city centre was packed from 10am, every train coming in from London was greeted and everyone was out waiting for Millwall. They brought their usual piffling 3 or 4 hundred.
@Mad Mike To be honest pal Chelsea were Leeds first London rivals on and off the pitch before Millwall but the reputation of fans at other clubs intensifys new rivals like Millwall and Leeds becoming rivals from the 80s.
Since Leeds were relegated from the Premiership both clubs history have been interwoven. So many dramatic games between the two, comebacks, red cards, penalties, playoffs. All of that with two of the most passionate fan bases in the world. Proper Leeds fans may enjoy the trips to Arsenal and Chelsea but if you ask most of them, I’m sure they will miss the buzz and excitement of coming to The Den. Well put together video although obviously biased, you’ve got to expect. I certainly am on my channel 🤣🤣.
Except your support is abysmal and your away following totally diabolical. So passionate you can't scrape more than 600 together for a play off semi final and average bringing 500 to Leeds at best.
Terra Nova Always one muppet. Our average was massively destroyed because we had to pick up our match tickets at Service stations because of what both clubs imposed on us. I’ll allow your ignorance as it’s probably not your fault.
Yeh went to Millwall with Leeds in 84 because it had to be done we were restricted to 2,000 with ID cards enabling you to get a ticket remember after game nobody moved missiles were thrown and both clubs fans got a ban on traveling but that didn't work either.
@@MillwallDrivehome It was similar for us at yours but we still sold out every time we visited (and could easily have sold 5 times our allocation for that play-off semi-final at yours).

I have got to say good work and strategical choices from the police. They kept the Millwall fans inside the stadium and the Leeds fans went out with the police avoiding a 3 way fight.

@@millwallfootballclub2670 Chelsea were the first London rivals for Leeds on/off the pitch but Millwall's reputation made sure of a new rivalry in the 80s.
As a neutral I have to be honest, twice I have been to the Den but I found it no where near as hostile or intimidating as a trip to Leeds. Leeds was a very dodgy place

You prob never went when Millwall were playing one of their main rivals and like Leeds they have many. I assure you its violently hostile when they play (occasionally) West Ham and Crystal Palace, amongst others.
@@themickster6775 Yeh exactly different teams and different scenarios can cause hostility at several grounds but a small number of clubs have had the reputation for years including Leeds & Millwall.

I enjoyed that. As a Millwall supporter vid very decent (was slightly bias). Anyway Millwall & Leeds both have genuinely pure passionate & slightly fighty supporters. Either way round at The Den or Elland Road the atmospheres are fucking something else. Been some belter games over esp the last 20 years between the two.

I went to this match this season, Leeds 3-2 Millwall at Elland Road. No sign of trouble from what I could see! I guess they put the match on a Tuesday night so fewer Millwall fans could travel to the match!
Yes Millwall could only bring 400 as opposed to 500 on a weekend.
real shame how the police treat millwall fans going elland road! only recently gave millwall more then a 1000 allocation and the trains from london to leeds are strictly no alcohol allowed which is a kill joy for many.
I think the rivalry between Millwall and West Ham is a lot bigger than this....

Seriously intense passionate fighty supporters on both sides. Atmospheres at both grounds in this fixture is something else.
As an older Leeds lad, we now begrudgingly respect our counterparts from down south & meet up for beer instead of agro, but it doesn't stop the attention of the OB. Got 3 wall out of the boozer they were in on boar lane, with the intentions of having an ale - which we did. 6 of us, 3 of each in a city centre venue....with no less than 8 police circling us. Laughable in our early to mid 50s but I guess reputations go before us. Good vid tho 👍

Leeds and Wall are they the last 2 proper clubs remaining? The support for your club is immense. Passion without a doubt . The premier League needs wall and Leeds in the prem. It amazes me that such a small club like Millwall have created such a huge interest from supporters of just about every football club in existance...guess as the saying goes Millwall hated by most but envied by all...shame the Arabs don.t invest there billions into that lil club imagine if they did the S**T would hit the fan then..they can at times pull huge numbers remember spurs away f.a. cup replay 1967 a total take over of the area and ground..rarely any trouble in those days guess thats why no one talks about it👍
As an Evertonian, we. Don't envy Millwall at all, massively overrated. We have only ever rated boro, Chelsea man u and West. Ham. Never Millwall or Leeds

@@stephenefc2515 I think that sentiment (re. Everton) is reciprocated in Leeds (and about anywhere else, in fact). You never were a serious force in FV.
Games at Elland Rd and the new Den are now well controlled by the Police mainly by limiting the number of away tickets , very early kick offs plus (by Leeds at least) by selling those limited number of tickets to vetted long term away season ticket holders who are often family types ,women old alcoholics over 60 and generally people they can trust . West Yorks Police go even further by sometimes 'bubble wrapping' the Millwall fans at Woolley Edge service station 10 miles south of Leeds which means they are only given their match day ticket at this check point and then escorted in .
What they would really struggle with is a Leeds vs Wall FA cup semi final or Championship play off final where both Clubs get 35k tickets plus there are another 15k going for the corporate' Club Wembley' middle tier which could easily end up mixed and unsegregated .
Throw in a 5pm weekend kick off ,a hot sunny day, the modern trend of hooligans getting on the Charlie all day and that scenario would suggest carnage and a virtually unpolicable game .

This is just bollocks really. There's no rivalry between Leeds and Millwall. Just a club with a reputation to preserve when another comes calling. Millwall don't travel to Leeds in number as they simply haven't got a big following so their option is to turn out at home. Leeds are offered limited tickets, which are distributed on a loyalty basis. All pretty tepid really.
That’s objectively wrong you only offer us 500 tickets please research mug and if our fan base is tiny why do we hold the record for most fans brought to old and new Wembley?
@@MillwallRobest Yo only sold about 500 of a 2,000 allocation for the L1 relegation match at ER. We sold our whole allocation at the Den and could easily have sold ten times that. Spot the difference.

Its easy to support Man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea etc as you know you will win most of the time. Try supporting a team pushed to the brink of its existence. Years and years in the lower leagues. Going to every ground knowing they all hate your guts and want to kick your heads in. That takes guts, and heart and BALLS. Its why the supporters of these teams are so passionate. Maximum respect round here. No plastic fans like those other teams. They are the ones who should be hated not Leeds and Millwall. And boy oh boy do I hate them.
