  • Our weather has been so up and down it’s hard to plan anything. This driveway build is tough because it’s on a steel hill and with the warm weather and rain it so soft!

That gabion rock looks like some nice stuff, we use 4 inch minus from a local contractor that makes only 4 inch, its 450 dollars for a tandem load, its a good 14-15 tonne. The driveway you're building has some grade to it. I bet its going to take some fines and rock when they start running building supply and ready mix trucks over it just the way it goes. Its the Tradies that destroy driveways spinning the hell out their tires throwing dirt and rocks. Ya some of them have 2 wheel drive vans, sprinters and 1 ton cube vans, some have 4 wheel drive pickups but they spin their way out in 2wd. The electricians are the worst they want to be right at the front door they are always in the way when you are working on site doing backfill etc. The old Sterlings will crawl out of some nasty spots, not easy when you're working by yourself trying to push the gravel truck out with the hoe. Always the damn it moments your crawling out with the dump truck then you get the spin and bounce back up try it again then its damn it I'm stuck LOL.

Are you sure the Commercial Vehicle Compliance Officer at 24:04 isn’t scoping you out cruising around in that Tandem with a PEI inspection sticker still in the window?? Haha hope you’re right and he just happens to live down that road you are working on. Also noticed the gauge on the left of the tachometer swinging around a lot when you are driving and a red light on when it drops below the operating range. Looks like batt voltage maybe? Alternator could be charging a bit wildly?

There is a young Vietnam farmer who needs to know the worth of putting
boulders, rocks and stones in the "pond" he is making, just like you are making a "hard bottom" on your land. For him it would also make hoes for the shrimp, crabs and small fish he wants to add.
My thought is they will help clear the water by settling the mud. Oh, he needs your words of wisdom. (Dau, of Forest Life). Thanks for listening.

With fuel costs ever increasing these back and fore extended drives to the quarry and offload waste must be painful if not able to price into the job. It will also be interesting to see how industry is able to move from diesel to electric or hydrogen in these more isolated working environments and at what cost to brilliant businesses like yourselves.

I just bought a piece of land where there is a 14% grade or maybe more of bedrock (Doing to me sure it in 2 week with precision GPS device). I have no idea what to do with that at the moment... Dirt does hold rock pretty well... But that bedrock is pretty slippery. It currently have big layer of rock also which look like steps at certain spots.

Question how much does it usually cost to fill in dirt for a driveway?
It’s a steep 20’ or so drop off so I’m looking to create a driveway about 50-75 feet long.
