A review of Lifeline, the G.I. Joe rescue trooper and field medic. First available in 1986 by Hasbro, a modified version was released in 1991 by Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal as a mail-in premium.
It's been so long that I've been watching your vids Kev, that I actually enjoy watching your re-runs. Just like I did watching Joe re-runs as a kid :-))
To this day I still think of Lifeline whenever I eat Rice Krispies.
Always enjoy the info you provide!
Excellent information on this figure, thank you.
Great opening!
I liked this figure a lot as a kid. I got Lifeline because of his number of accessories and most particularly because that silver pistol was just the coolest thing ever. I was disappointed that his cartoon character was such a ninny, but oh well. The toys always had much better personas.
And so did the comics, because Lifeline was trained in Aikido, which came in handy when he was forced to fight Big Bear/Horrorshow of the Oktober Guard
Formbx257 i think why they are wearing a green tinted sunglasses because green tint lens are balancing the light or the UV rays from the sun and creates a clearer definition, that kind of color tint lens, cools the vision of the eyes. Lifeline is required to wear a sunglasses because he's always in the Tomahawk Helicopter, he needs to wear a sunglasses to prevent him from getting headaches and glare.
fun fact; ray ban aviator sun glasses were developed to help protect service members vision. baulch & lomb called the glasses: ray bans(ban sun rays).
note; Browning did make a bdm model DA/DA only 9mm pistol. It was rare & did not sell very well in North America.
the character was a Seattle wa EMT prior to enlisting. I never really understood the Joe. doc or maybe a USAF para-rescue guy would be better.
I thought mine said 1988, what is up with that? Could you help me?
I guess the Kellogg's Lifeline uniform makes more sense since he's a pacifist lol it's funny that the original Lifeline is in the advertisement pic
I'm not sure where that symbol came from. It's nothing I have ever seen, I have a theory on it though I think Hasbro created the symbol to represent their own mash unit. I don't know though, I researched the symbol and got no results it's similar in colors to certain symbols but there is no design like that, that I have seen or know of.
From doing the searches. I think it's a cool figure. Awesome review!
A red-on-white cross is copyright of the Red Cross.
