  • Lisa Gade reviews the Dell Latitude 9410 2-in-1 14” high end business convertible Ultrabook. The laptop runs Windows 10 on Intel 10th gen Comet Lake CPUs with optional vPro and it has a CNC aluminum casing with diamond cut edges. The PC has 360-degree convertible hinges and a Gorilla Glass 5 clad touch screen with Dell Pen (Wacom AES) support. The Dell proximity sensor and Windows Hello IR camera speed up unlocking and locking the machine. 4G LTE-A is optional and Thunderbolt 3 is standard.

    I have a Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 and this 9410 2-in-1 is basically rebrand of that with a Intel 10th Gen CPU and massive price increase. I'd strongly recommend getting a 7400 2-in-1 whilst you can instead of getting this.

    Thank you for this review! When the HP Elitebook G7 (840 for Intel and 845 for AMD), can you please review them? I think the Intel one is out but not the AMD one yet. I think those are the main competitors to the Latitude 9410. Thank you for your reviews. Not many channels review business oriented laptops, so it helps us when we need a laptop with smartcard.

    I struggle to get my head around these 2 in 1 machines. Especially in the enterprise space. To me the form factor seems tuned for artistic rolls. But then you frequently can not get a satisfactory GPU. The RAM is soldered in. The hinges always are a weak point especially in the enterprise space. There must be something I'm not understanding in the market.

    Don't care for metallic housing. It screws Wi-Fi signal.
    ALso meh on Intel. It's one big crater of endless security holes and deliberate backdoors.
    Besides, in this era of green thinking and social responsibility one shouldn't overlook their patent theats and thuggish businesess that killed many. And earned them a €1BN fine.
    You don't get that for illegal parking.
    Above all that AMD kicked their ass over entire line.
    It's so much faster and so much cheaper that it's not funny.
    Vote with your wallet and punish those that made their designs based not on free market but graft and secret deals.

    • @ShainAndrews
      @ShainAndrews 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      WI-Fi: All business/enterprise machines are metallic housings. I have more than 20 years running all sorts of these machines, and seldom an issue. When there is an issue it is generally a specific machine.
      Intel securit: While not ideal the vulnerabilities are far from being easily deployed. I can assure you as AMD gains market share they will be met with the same scrutiny. There will be vulnerabilities uncovered. Just the nature of the beast.
      I need to see a verifiable record of the €1BN fine and all appeals and rulings on appeal before I will comment on that.
      AMD has made great strides but they don't "kick ass across the line". I'm glad to see some competition in the processor space, but the processor is not terribly significant in the bottom line. HP and Lenovo are your only choices in AMD business/enterprise laptops. It is by no coincidence HP and Lenovo lead the business/enterprise laptop space. Combined they maintain about 42% market share with HP leading. They have the capital to invest in R&D to bring AMD to the laptop market. The average business/enterprise user will see zero difference in the processors capability. However IT departments do see the difference as it introduces one more variable for patching and upkeep. In this space is is not bleeding edge, but rather competent, reliable, expected performance over the life cycle of the machine (5 years becoming the norm). Think if a company standardized on thunderbolt with say their docks. Where does that fit with AMD? It doesn't so now a company has to purchase docks with the machine. Cost savings went negative. Lots of variables to consider in this space.
