Coming from a black girl that naturally has hair like this if you don’t want any frizz than use a tiny bit of coconut oil while you are separating the curls. It makes all the difference in the world

@@arissamirage4019 Using oil is even better when you have a naturally oily scalp. Your scalp will stop overproducing oil (sebum) when you use non-bodily oil like coconut, olive, sweet almond, etc...

We straighten it because people are rude to us about are hair. Most curly girls (including me) even have there mom wanting their hair to be straight. I know some people that have straight hair are told their hair doesn’t look pretty, but for curly girls it happens much more.

I tried this too. Results were amazing. I know my curls lasted for 24 hours and probably could have lasted more and that's cause I didn't put on any products on!!!!
Hah I have a similar hair type! Its a mix of my parents hair (curly father and straight mom) and its curly enough to be considered curly but they are more bigger loose curls with some straight parts in it... such a wierd Texture

I did this and my hair turned out soooo pretty!it took me 3 hours tho :( but it was worth it ! Highly recommend you to try this 😁

Joselyn Aguilar just shower and do it and keep it overnight or when it’s 100% dry. It’ll work ... I’m sure it’ll work cuz it’s not like ur gunna use heat. When the hair drys in a certain way it stay that way until you shower again. But let me tell you this... if u have long hair it’ll take you foreeveeer. It took me 4 hours lol

Mine was worse I took 4 hours of my time and an uncomfortable night sleep to wake up in the morning AND AS SOON AS MY HAIR GOT OUT TO THE STRAW I PULLED IT AND SO MUCH OF MY HAIR CAME OUT I was crying 😭
idk if we should use smaller hair section or medium ... n definitely use longer straws. can't believe dumb me cut the few straws i had in two. 🤦♀️🤦♀️

If I wouldn’t have seen the before, I would’ve thought you were mixed by the end results. The curl shape, the poofiness, how the frizz makes the hair look like it has a kinkier texture.... mixed girl all the way lol, I swear even your skin looked tanner when you took the straws out 😂 I love it!

curly hair has always been my dream. my hair is like wavy strait weird stuff. i usually braid it and sleep and wake up and it's all poofy and stuff, but i really want it to be natural curls. i also feel kinda weird because usually redheads have curly hair so.... yeah (sorry that was a long comment)

Thank you so much!!!! NOTHING has ever worked to make my hair tight curled before!!! I LOVE it!!!! My hair is super naturally straight, so this was the only thing that worked for me. It didn’t even take me that long! I only left it in for like an hour or two!!

awesome tutorial, but advice from a naturally curly girl... always separate from the ends of your hair first and work your way up! its much less damaging that way. and you can also then massage your roots for more volume!

Omg, I just tried this last night and it actually worked. So easy to do and that too without heat and any extra products. Am so happy with the final outcome 😍 The only slightly difficult part was to remove the rubber band at the end. Other than that, its all good 👍🏻 You guys can give it a try.

I agree with you, I also have curly hair and there is only a few times I want my hair straighten but I get way to lazy to do that so I leave my hair the way it is and I'm proud of it!! And for girls who do want curly hair, it's a lot of work to maintain your hair. You have to use a lot of hair products to get the way you want, it get tangled up really easily etc.

To anyone who don't have any straws like me, what I did was use pens instead, and then I secured my ends with bobby pins. The ringlets came out a little larger than what's shown in the video, because I was using large pens, but it still did the trick! Hope this helps xx

I tried to straighten my hair with rollers last night, but only made it to roller number 4 🤷🏽♀️ didn’t even get to wrap it and brush it straight because they were on the floor after a few minutes. To all the recent people wanting to try this, you can literally go buy reusable curling rods that work the exact same way instead of wasting straws. They even sell them at the Dollar tree now days. And they have different sizes.
Or just reuse the straws?
I would need to spend $500 ($500.25, lol) at Dollar Tree to get enough for my hair.

Props to you, this was a lot of work! This video should have way more likes considering you have millions of views. I naturally have curls like this and I think you look great with it out too, maybe just more fluffing at the roots and time for the hair to settle to hide parts more. I have this issue when I do separated sections for curls too.

Yup mine too i came here thinking this would work but i feel frustrated watching the video lol. I use the sock or bun method works wonders. Search curly hair using a sock LOL its bigger curls but works great.

I used to have horrible, unmanageable hair and then I tried the curly girl method. I swear to god my waves actually have a PATTERN and look so much healthier. It took about four months to get there but it’s almost been a year now and it’s worth it

I did this and usually when I curl my hair it lasts like 2 hours then the curls fall and this method lasted me all day yesterday and I woke up with perfect curls today, I recommend this for all people who’s hair doesn’t stay curly
So, SO pretty. This is like caveman discovering fire, for me. Srsly, thanks for making this tutorial. (Sincerely from: Straight-Haired Girl With Serious Curl-Envy.) I've tried pretty much everything, with the twisty braid-knots being as close as I could get. It works, but it does not have THIS result. THIS type of curl that I've literally been desparetly trying to achieve since elementary school. (5th grade perm = fail in every way, trying). I know I've heard of this technique, but I suppose registered it as having the same old results and never looked into it. Also, as a friggin' beautician, I've never even considered that my twist-curls were so quick to drop the next morning due to prepping them straight out of the shower... even though it makes perfect [if not common] sense 😒. A CAN of hairspray cannot defeat even the least of leftover dampness + Houston humidity on pin-straight hair. Kudos for acknowledging that. Pretty happy I found this vid. Can't wait to go buy me some straws 😍...

I prefer styling like this over-night versus blow-drying, myself. May I ask how many hours you would recommend leaving them in for? Obviously it's ultimately when they're completely dry, as you only dampen your hair, (and obviously you do not have to answer a question as personal as your sleep schedule), but sometimes it's hard to tell until you actually unravel them. According to your own routine, what would you say is a safe amount of time to leave them in? And/or a time frame you'd consider 'just right'?

I’m glad you found my video! I hope it works for you! I usually put the straws in before I go to bed, and keep them in until after I do my makeup in the morning. So IN TOTAL I probably leave them in for a total of about 10 hours but my hair is probably dry before those 10 hours. But if you’re able to keep them in longer I suggest that just to make sure they’re dry. Because if you unravel them and they’re the slightest bit damp, it won’t hold at all. But good luck! Let me know if it works for you!

As a baby my hair was this curly naturally just abit thicker curls, unfortunately I straightened my hair for years and straightened my curls completely out and it's just a frizz ball, tried this out and the curls did not turn out as good as this video but I loved the turn out of them and got soo many complements from it. Great way to curl hair just timely. Thankyou for the video💋
I do mine with straws too but I tie it and bobby pin it down and cut the extra space on the straws off. I put a head wrap on after I’m done. It takes me an hour to do but lasts me a week. I start from the bottom and work my way up. Yours looks good ! 💖
