My favorite Meta was by far when Rosa got released, everyone was playing her and you were the doomguy when you were the only Rosa of the game. That was chaotic. Rosa's only fairly decent counter was Shelly because she could litterally spam supers if Rosa was to close. The fact that this meta was so short made it very fun while it lasted

I remember when Barley was totally broken in Heist, he’s super used to stack up so if you throw the super when standing next to the safe and hit all 5 bottles, it would deal like 800 times 5 times 4 damage. So like 16 000 damage in total, absolutely insane

Anyone remember the mortis in robo rumble exploit where mortis would just run around the map to kite all the robots in one circle? That was definitely the easiest way to get 13 minutes and 14 second at that time

Remember when Rosa was released she was soooo op that there was a maintanance break for an emergency nerf, and before the nerf every gamemode was just filled with rosas chaining supers to other rosas who were chaining their own supers, Good times.

Although I’ve only played since global, this still brought many memories back. Many years ago, despite just spamming some buttons and not caring about supers, brawl stars still brought the same vibes and had a place in my heart.

I’ve been playing since global release and it’s easy to forget how much more polished the game has gotten over the years. The longevity of the game is really due to the devs and their commitment to continuous improvement.
I love the fact that dyna was the Brawler with the most balance changes when kairos did not mention him a single time😂

I’m glad the 2 day piper auto-aim meta was at least mentioned in passing. That was certainly an…interesting time to play the game in.
Also I’m surprised you didn’t mention one of the main reasons auto aim was so good: it didn’t activate if no one was in range. I’m pretty sure changing this was the final step needed to make it no longer broken

I definitely like this kind of idea for a video. I’ve been playing since the first day of global and I got to say, even though the OP brawlers kinda broke the meta, it was special. Bandaid Shelly was one of the main ones I think about. It’s so interesting how 1 star power made basically the worst brawler into a beast. Great video again Kairos :)
I remember the Rosa release day, all 10 players in showdown were Rosa and her super lasted 3x longer which made battles last almost 10 minutes, that was the most fun I’d ever had
I’d love to see a part 2. I didn’t play the beta version but I started the day it was globally released and on the first day I was hooked by the game. I’ve played almost every day since that first day and it would be nice to see the evolution of the game as a reminder of how well the game has developed (and at the same time you could give cred to the developers for all their work during these years). I especially remember when Rosa was first released. Everyone played her all the time and it was chaos in every game with everyone having supers basically non stop. Not sure when in the timeline that she was released but if you do a part 2 I’ll know ;) great video as always and congrats on moving into your new house

Ooooh this was such a good video. Even though I was there at the beginning I played sparsely, only downloading the game due to it being a Supercell game. So to see that the community experienced such massive changes was very fun to watch. I would love to see a part 2!

This was highly informative, Kairos! We appreciate these types of vids you make that are different from many others. I’m not trashing other creators either. You each bring something to the table, and it’s why I consistently watch 5 of you (Kairos, Cori, Rey, Lex, and CryingMan)
I preregistered for brawl and here are some metas I remember suffering through and enjoying.
Rosa on release(was essentially invincible once she got a super). Leon on release(could walk up to people undetected, super lasted like 9 seconds I think). Jacky on release(too much dmg too much hp). Gene on release (not really meta but he did break the game). Surge on release(most annoying star power ever). Edgar on release (was free as well 💀, basically like a Shelly that could jump on you and erase you). That time they buffed barley's range just a little. Sandy(I'm pretty sure he needed a super nerf and super charge nerf on release.) Stu(LMAO you guys remember the infinite stun lock he had?) Colt( he had a free 3,000 DMG with his wall break gadget. And could shred any brawler in seconds). Tanks in general ( with the passive tanks received to auto super charge they on certain maps they were just too strong. They could essentially die once and get a free super.) Crow( he used to get 70% DMG reduction with his shield gadget basically making him immortal). Darryl ( has been too strong a few times because of his shield star power. I believe at one point it gave 90% dmg reduction and lasted 3 seconds) Carl is kinda obvious if you've played brawl stars in the last few weeks. 8-bit (could revive mid game with full ammo and a shield) Bea ( could survive any incoming DMG for 3 seconds EVERY TIME she respawned, when she got killed she'd live at 1hp with invulnerability for like 3 seconds). Mr.p (to be honest I don't remember all that was wrong with him but he had too much range and was too strong on release) Sprout( it's walls tormented in brawl ball and put the respawn shield into the game) Grom (Grom was just pain his attack was reworked because even after several nerfs he was ridiculous). Max ( she was banned from tournaments because of how powerful she was as a support. ) Amber on release (too much dmg). Ruffs (remember getting three shot by ruffs because he could unload 3 ammo quicker than a Jacky? He could legit have three ammo on the map at the same time cause his unload speed was so fast.)
Ill exclude chromatics and meg, they're pretty recent but I guess I can list the ones that probably were the most annoying. Eve, fang, Janet, belle, and Lola. They all needed nerfs on release and for good reason, they were op.

I remember the good ol' days when Piper could beat anyone 1v1 even if they were close up. Snappy sniping + triple shot was so freaking broken. She practically had 2 extra ammo
I loved how op Barley’s super used to be when every single bottle would deal damage separately you could just melt tanks and the heist safe
as a brawler that joined in 2018 and left in 2020 who recently came back in 2023 this was super nostalgic for me

Rosa on her release was an absolute menace
I remember playing with Frank as the tankiest brawler in the game and being scared of every single Leon that had its Super because they could easily take down any tanks. But thanks to supercell we didn't have to fear them for much longer.
Honestly, One of the longest Metas was Edgar. When he came out, everyone got him free p, and LITERALLY EVERYONE was playing Edgar! Back then in the Brawlidays, if an Edgar jumped on you, if you weren’t a tank like Shelly, El Primo, Darryl, and Bull, you were 150% Dead. Other more current meta’s like Gray, Grom, and Buster were also really fun and “busted”. But hear me out, the early Brawl Stars Meta Brawler’s were Monster’s compared to more current Ones!
I remember when you could concentrate barley’s super in only one place. He used do completely destroy tanks, i really miss it 😓

Hey Kairos, I have a good idea to make Rosa's first gadget better. Make the bush spawning mechanic act like Sprout's Super (sprout walls extend whenever there are normal walls close by). Let the bush still cover 3x3 when there are no walls or bushes close by.
Bonus: Rosa's Star Powers may need a slight buff as well to compensate the new levels (i.e.) let Rosa recover 225 health or deal 250 additional damage (12.5% buff) in the case of her first and second star power respectively.
Make the bush change according to the environment

This video was a nostalgia trip for me. I’ve been playing inconsistently since beta, and I remember a lot of this stuff. I think my favourite time in beta was when brawl ball was released. I just found it so fun. I also became a piper main as soon as she came out, so that was nice as well.

I haven't played BrawlStars in a while. (In like about 2 years) and there's just so many new Brawlers I keep seeing or hearing about.
I'm really an absolute game nerd myself as well, on some games that I love for real (definitely not BrawlStars) and I'd see me doing a video just like Kairos did with this one (but with a different game). That's why I'm honestly pretty excited for the next part of BrawlStars's history walkthrough considering it's one of the most well known amd complex mobile games. I guess I could say these nerdy-analysis-summery types of videos I really enjoy watching. So yea, keep it up Kairos. You haven't changed too much at all since 2020, and that's to be appreciated 👏

my favorite meta moment has to be when edgar released. he litterally broke the game for 2 hours, and when the game was back up again, everybody used him, what made solo showdown a total chaos
When edgar was released servers were literally down, he broke the game at that time as he was free but now he is not too good he need some buff

Wow, this brought me way back. I remember watching the TH-camr tournament, and I created my account just days after the beta release, and honestly still think of piper and brawl ball as new content., despite them being in the game for years at this point. Watching this, I relived the entirety of that beta period. Most jarring for me was remembering that grass used to regrow.
Thank you kairos for the nostalgia.
On another note, I was fortunate enough to get Leon the day after his release, and he was really fun, but that was due to him being brokenly overpowered.

I remember some more for example when Rosa got released her shield was crazy OP, if you had 2 Rosas with super they could fight for minutes just because the shield was OP, also the release of second Star Powers with Band Aid Shelly which healed her entire health... She was good even in bounty Lol

Hey girl, this is my first time watching your video is over two years, and omg the memory’s, I even got your merch, I was also there for the beginning of brawl stars
And omg i was there when you were in your 50 - 80k sups era, I love ya have a nice life
I remember buying rosa for 19 gems and it was the best 19 gems i have spent until now. Her super was INSANE back then, with a long super time and the HUGE damage reduction, she was basically unstoppable.
I didn't download the game until global release, and even then quit playing week one because I was such a Clash Royale simp I didn't think a game like Brawl would succeed. It's interesting seeing all the history before I even touched the game, and then all the history past release
The game has changed soo much. Imagine someone now playing that game after quitting in beta he's gonna have wholesome moment 🥺

Just imagine new players who don't know anything about boxes in brawl stars, the suspence in opening any mega box, or when the card blinked at 1 left but gave any gadget or star power and we used to be disappointed. But the joy which we experienced by getting new characters from the boxes!

The two most game breaking times for me were Rosa at her release and Shelly the summer she got her 2nd star power right when Supercell went on break.

This was a really interesting video! I have been playing for a long time and have seen the meta change over the past 3 and a half years. My favorite balance changes were when tanks started receiving super charge from being damaged. It really made them fun to play again for the first time in months.

Is everyone forgetting Sprout's star power when we got released? He covered the entite map when a shot wouldn't land on an enemy. You can still see this in Brawl Talk
I still remember when the game came out globally I got Leon as my first legendary when I got the last star token for a purple box, I'm still glad I got Leon and became part of the broken meta when it happened

If we are talking about before global, Im betting its going to be 1. Mortis and brawl ball, 2. Piper and super charging, and 3. Leon literally being completely hidden for 10 seconds.
(oh, starting with the nitamare where you could get multiple bears on the map because they were so tanky and so easy to charge.)
Kairos should definitely include the nightmares of Bandaid shelly and Piper with initial days of Snappy Sniping.

Im hoping that for halloween they add a temporary game mode that incorporates the line of sight mechanic. seems quite fun to play
