I think since the show has tanked in recent years, they've given up on certain spoilers and things that can be sussed out. Especially for this season, where the viewership & ratings are lower than ever. The producers must've known, when they were putting it together, that this season wasn't going to be a hit, even more so when they realised how much the audience was rooting for different women as the lead, who they couldn't get. Plus, they've known for a while now that every year the show gets spoiled - mostly by Reality Steve, who apparently has no other job than to be an "exposer" for the Bach franchise, lol. (which is kinda sad, let's be honest) So now maybe they're taking a different approach and just leaving the actual ending as a surprise. (Like not necessarily who she chooses, but what she does.) Bc they've noticed, that no matter what they do, the show just isn't what it used to be, and the ratings keep plummeting every year... So they're not sure what else they can do to keep things interesting at this point, and have kinda put their hands up in defeat. IMO it might be time to sack the entire franchise bc it's so outdated and sexist in nature. Unless they really, really give the show an updo/reformatting and change the actual rules of the game, I don't think this will last much longer. BIP either. My opinion? I think they should hire an entire new creative team, not just a new host and a "couple new producers" who are trying to change the editing style and add diversity. That's not the root of the problem. The root of the pb lies in the actual format of the show, which is way too out-dated and unrealistic: 1 man/woman choosing 1 candidate out of 30 in the span of 2 months, and having to propose to them at the end. This whole idea of "my future life-long partner is in this room" is such BS, it's crazy, especially when you have 1 night to get to know 25 of them. My thought is, to make it more credible, start w the same number of people, but extend the rose ceremony to 2-3 nights, which increases the suspense factor, and lets us get to know our favorites a bit more before they're booted and we're left thinking "who tf was that?" Make the first impression rose happen AFTER night one, so that the first episode ends on a cliffhanger, and that the lead isn't picking one person after only knowing them a couple of hours. Bc usually, when the first impression rose is handed out, some people haven't even spoken to the lead yet, which is completely unfair and defeats the point. This way, post episode 1, we - and the other contestants - get to speculate who the lead is going to choose, based on who we think made the strongest impression. And don't make them have the first rose ceremony at 5AM when they're all exhausted, and when the lead is just playing a guessing game at that point, and choosing on the basis of who he/she remembers and had an attraction to, vs who they didn't talk to or left a bad taste in their mouth. (CONT'D - yes this is a very long thread; please just ignore if you're not interested!)
Let them all rest after night 1, after the limo entrances and the cocktail party - and who knows, maybe that way, some contestants will leave of their own volition at some point during this 2 day waiting period, either bc they don't think it's worth it, or they're impatient, or they regret what they signed up for, or simply bc they're not feeling it enough w the lead & don't like competition/being stuck in a house w a bunch of other people. Or even because they feel defeated/dislike who the lead chose for their first impression rose, so they don't want to wait until a rose ceremony to get booted. That in itself creates enough drama and suspense that is natural and unscripted, but also gives the contestants more creative license & decision-making power, which the show desperately needs. Make the day portion of day 2 simple, a pool party in the Mansion, a la old Bachelor style. So that the fight for the lead's attention happens both in a light-hearted daytime setting where you get to see the more playful, interactive side of the contestants, AND in the night portion, where you get to see the more serious, formal side of them. It also gives the lead - and us - a better sense of what everyone is like amongst the other contestants, and how they interact with each other in a fun, competitive atmosphere, vs in a deeper, more meaningful setting. Did some contestants stand out at the end of night 1 because they were happy to sleep in a house with so many other people, and shared their items w others before bed & were lax about room choices? Were others more reserved and kept to themselves but are coming out more during the pool party? And what does the lead themselves prefer, and where do we get to see them more at ease: during the day in a light-hearted group setting, or at night, with more intimate, serious 1-on-1s? We'll also get to see which contestants seem more invested in this being a giant sleepover/fun 'vacation time" w friends, vs an experience to find love w the lead? Which contestants seem to be putting on a front to mingle & appear likable vs those who are genuinely uncomfortable in this environment? Who's spending more time competing w the other contestants & being jealous than they are focusing on the lead? A full 2 days in the mansion, as opposed to 1 night, will help expose a lot of these qualities that usually are clouded by how they want to come across night 1. And that are then usually buried in the group dates bc of how lavish they are. Whereas an overnight in the mansion strips all of those layers away, leaving the contestants at their most natural. Who woke up earliest on day 2, who took initiative to cook w others, and didn't overindulge the night before; who is selfishly hitting the gym first instead of maybe making the lead breakfast; who took the longest to get ready in the morning and is wasting their time; who is hogging the shower and not being considerate of others? Did the contestant who got the first impression rose wake up and decide to take a backseat bc they want to give others a fair chance, or have they used it as motivation to be even more aggressive & get even more time w the lead, even though they know they're safe at the rose ceremony? Again, all of these factors will produce way more natural drama that isn't as predictable or boring, and that only needs to be edited to show the important highlights, since it'll span across 2 episodes. Post pool party on day 2, there is a cocktail party, and rose ceremony in the evening. And hat's how episode 2 would end, with the lead picking her top 18 out of 25 (or however many usually get sent home after night 1, I always forget lol.) The show would then continue on in this manner, with the trips and usual dates, but with some of them being a bit more low-key so that we can have a smooth progression w the contestants where they don't trauma dump on their first date. The fact that the first rose ceremony would extend 2-3 days will help this, since we'll have seen the contestants in their natural habitat more, up to this point- with more chill conversations about hobbies & interests having happened during the pool party, and deeper convos about values, morals, and family during their 1-on-1s at the two cocktail parties. The show used to do this a tiny bit more before, w the shopping & restaurant/spa/vineyard dates, but they don't seem to anymore. Now the 1-on-1 dates are all really extreme & dramatic, where they involve some kind of thrill-seeking activity, or dining in an ancient cathedral/historical space. Which doesn't help this season, since they didn't even spend any time in LA or in the rented out mansion, before flying off to their destinations. So it didn't give us a chance to see those more chilled out dates, where the group goes camping, or where there is a one-on-one at a fashion boutique that ends up with a laid-back date at a retreat in the evening. These kind of group dates, and even 1-on-1 dates, allow for more natural conversations, than the hyper lavish, or extreme/competitive ones do. Seeing contestants race or fight each other on a track/in a ring, is much more primal and unnatural, than seeing them vie for your attention at a bowling alley or on a campground where the only way to show your competitive spirit is to help others, be socially aware, and try to make time w the lead. That's why I think the Golden Bachelor did so well in many ways: it brought back the idea of the low-key, normal restaurant date, and of seeing the women in their natural habitat. We got to see how they lived together in the mansion, and who took the most time to get ready in the mornings, who shared beds with who, etc. None of them were trauma dumping right off the bat, and the dates were much more natural (like the one in the diner that ended w a flash dance, or the one in the restaurant. even the tennis group date, which had one dramatic moment, felt more light hearted and natural, bc they were all competing in groups of two. it wasn't one big ass group vs another, and the losing team has to go home.) Like I said, even a bowling group date -- which they used to do -- is more low-key than having them fight each other on a football field or in a wrestling match or even at a wedding ceremony. (which is still super weird, every single time they do it lol.) The latter activities (wedding excluded, I guess) are hyper primal & animalistic, and serve no good: like in what world is the idea of a partner who shows their affection for you by beating up others, and defeating them physically, a green flag? it's not. And the idea of someone being territorial as a sign of "how much they care" is such a detrimental, outdated notion, it's sad. We are not barbarians, and the lead isn't territory to be "marked" through extreme actions. Same w the wedding ceremony date they do almost every season, but only for the Bachelor - it is so dumb, and unfunny, and tacky, and again, outdated & very sexist. Like in what world are we believing that the lead is actually marrying his final pick? It's so unrealistic & dumb & predictable each season. The humor element they try to implement into a lot of these silly group dates could be done so many other ways than thru something absurd, it's crazy. Like even the farming date in NZ this season; instead of having them herd the sheep like that, which albeit hilarious, was ridiculous bc the contestants are dumb as shit, have them actually just feeding the different animals, spending time w them, petting them, talking to the farmers & asking about their lifestyle, milking the cows, having a picnic on the grass in the end, etc. Don't just show us them shoveling shit and cutting the sheep's dingleberries lol. (Like why didn't we get to see what Devin & Jenn talked about during their 1-on-1 time? Ohhhh bc it's not interesting enough bc it's not trauma dumping? I see...🙄)
It’s gotta be Devin she’s talking to at the final rose because the guy is tall and she’s wearing heels and still has to look up. The other guys don’t look taller than 5’9”.
I haven’t gone back to really look but the first promo vid shows a decent amount of the guy and I thought right away from the first few minutes of episode 1 that the shoulder looked like Devins
I think Marcus & Jonathon are both around 5'11~6 ft respectively, but that Devin is just taller, like maybe 6'3. its always hard to tell w the bachelorette bc the guys are always notoriously tall, which then makes it harder to suss out their actual heights. esp when they stand next to the lead who seems tiny. (altho admittedly, im not sure of Jenn's height but she doesn't seem taller than 5'3, does she? but im not sure if that's cuz she appears super short next to all the guys, even when she's wearing heels.) so it's always hard to tell if the men- as a group- are just a tall bunch, or if the bachelorette is just really short. like maybe, Jenn is actually 5'5, but bc the guys are all in the 6 ft range, she appears much shorter next to them. like I bet you, her ex who appeared tiny compared to the other guys when he came on, is actually like 5'9, but he seemed more like 5'5 bc he was standing next to guys who are all 6 ft & above. then again, her ex did seem particularly short lol. like even in the shots w Jenn, their height difference didn't seem that apparent.... and she can't be taller than 5'5. my guess is she's prob closer to 5'3. (5'4 at most.) so who knows! either way, altho it seems pretty obvious to us that she's speaking to devin in that promo shot, I do think there's a chance it could be Jonathon or Marcus. (but especially Jonathon if we're using height as a factor, since he's taller than Marcus if im remembering correctly. even more so if we use that shot of them kissing in the rain to gage height discrepancy.) but if it's Marcus then maybe he's standing on a higher platform than her in the shot, which we're unable to see since it's a close up angle. but ofc- given the previews and what we know- it's most likely Devin, bc I don't think Jonathon makes it to final 2 - even tho Im still hopeful there's a chance he does. And I highly doubt it's Marcus, unless the height factor is an optical illusion, like I said before. Altho I guess her telling Marcus he can't propose would make a lot of sense, given his inability to open up emotionally and the fact he may be hiding some things from her. But it doesn't make sense if the reason she's interrupting the person is to propose. So no matter which way we spin it, it seems like it's most likely Devin she's speaking to. Now, whether she's rejecting him or proposing, I haven't got a clue. In my head, it could go either way! Or maybe she's telling him she wants them to date first & get to know each other better. (hence her "I can't let you propose to me")
I know all of the guys like her and are into her but for some reason I feel like i can really only see that from Devin.. like he seems genuinely into her and has really made her a priority.
I feel Devin is love bombing her because he knows what she is seeking. He's like a social path in the end. I like Jeremy and Jonathan the best of the lot. But I hope she doesn't choose anyone because her cast of men were so meh.

No it has to be about Marcus not her dad. Basically on Reddit everyone was discussing the Marcus SA allegations during the filming of Jenn’s season. Jenn’s brother had a confirmed Reddit account and he caught wind of the rumors after redditors reported it to him. He never approved of Marcus and he was going to tell Jenn. Whether the producers allowed him to talk about the allegations (off camera), we are not sure. But Jenn’s brother talking about a guy not being emotionally available just points to Marcus.

Yeah that and the Jesse “are you sure” scene is obviously super staged. I think she told the producers she’s not ready to be engaged to any of the guys well before the final rose, maybe even in the top 3, so they planned out shots and a storyline to throw people off
In the exchange where Devin is crying, Jen is wearing the outfit (big golden earrings and brown dress) that was pointed out earlier in the video in a solo interview of hers. Maybe Devin is going back on his words or another producer trickery😅

Only one of the final 3 guys is tall enough to match with the shoulder we see in the clips of Jen stopping a proposal. If we indeed assume she stops him to propose herself, then we know her final pick.
Marcus and Jonathan are both shorter and her eye line goes to Their nose when you see Devin and her standing together. When they first meet you can tell her eye line is at his neck which seems to be where it is with the guy with the white suit.
I feel like the "I can't let you propose to me" looks and sounds so staged just to throw us off. Maybe the twist is just that they don't get engaged but continue to date after the show?
I'd honestly be fine with any of the couples doing that. The push to get engaged when you don't even really know each other outside of the show is pretty ridiculous. I know you can have a long engagement, but still.
@@Jennilynne it honestly also kills any potential success rate the show could have had because an engagement is still such a big deal to most people and usually ending the engagement automatically ends the relationship. Whereas with them just continuing to date, they would leave the show with a little less weight on their shoulders. I know the German version of the shows doesn't do engagements in the finale and from a quick check, it looks like the after-show relationships at least lasted a little longer than in the US version

I really like Jeremy. He always came across as genuine to me. He's not the most attractive and actually looks older than his age, but he seems like a really decent fellow (Jenn also mentioned he's the funniest guy there). Grant is very good looking, but as someone who is familiar with day trading, I'd say he's gonna make lots or lose lots. And he appears to have issues that need to be worked on. But I do like him, just not sure he's ready for a real relationship yet.
I might be eating my own words in the end, but I think that the Devin crying shot is more of a mental breakdown of doubt from him, probably during the fantasy suite episode. The way he immediately went to "this rose means nothing" when Jenn's ex arrived shows that he's a bit more insecure about his standing with her than he is letting on. So I think when he isn't the first to get a fantasy suite and finds out that Jenn had sex with someone else first, he's not handling the pressure of it being so close to the end well and sits in the room crying. Might be a good bonding moment with one of the other guys who actually talks him down.
Am I the only one who is at least a bit shocked that Jeremy and Jonathan make it to the Top 4? Jenn doesn't seem that into either of them, especially Jeremy. And even lukewarm toward Jonathan. I am curious what Sam does to get eliminated before hometowns, because Jenn has had such strong chemistry with them.

Rachel’s immediate family does still live in Hawaii, but it doesn’t make sense to fly there for one day for a hometown, then fly all the way back to LA for a rose ceremony the next day. It makes a lot more sense to go there and stay for two weeks to film fantasy suites and final dates.
i asked myself the same thing. and you know joey probably hoped he would get to go back to hawaii but they instead had rachels family fly to LA. they also robbed us of joey uncle joe making an appearance . anyways ,rachel did say that she had lost a grandam/aunt so maybe her family was in LA already for a funeral or something. or maybe it was just a logistical issue. just like how they filmed Maria's hometown in New York instead of Toronto while they had just left Canada a couple of days back.
I'm kind thinking it's going to be Jonathan. All the shots of the proposal, show a lean tall man's shoulders. That fits Jonathan. Devin is a little meatier around the waist. Waist to Shoulder ratio fit Jonathan

It seems blatantly obvious that the only person Jenn is into is Devin. The other men are just filler. They basically have a relationship and the other men are just people that production threw at her for TV purposes. She will literally walk away from the other men on group dates to spend time with him. Sure he initiates it, but she willingly goes with him every time. He is basically her boyfriend already.

I think it's a fakeout and she's actually speaking w Marcus in that convo and during her ITM. (which yep ur right, it's from the same night bc her outfit is the same; good catch!) but the close up of devin crying is prob just from him on the final day bc of his nerves/fear of being rejected. or maybe after fantasy suites he gets in his head and has doubts about where he stands w her compared to the other guys. either way, that scene clearly isn't from the same shot where she's upset and confronting someone; that has to be her talking to Marcus - or I guess Jonathon if he's still there, but less likely. She's calling him out for his lack of transparency and his readiness for marriage, as well as not reciprocating her feelings or being open enough w her, and then sending him home. and her crying in her ITM is bc she's frustrated at how much she cared for him & tried to make it work, and how he wasted her time & didn't love her back & couldn't be honest w her. very much a 'why couldn't he just love me what's wrong w me' moment.
I agree that Jonathon should be next bachelor if we're choosing from this cast of men. at the same time would be nice for them to spice things up and choose someone entirely new/not from the franchise. a fresh face & new start for the show would be nice, after years of low ratings & predictable crap. and maybe pick someone in who's in his thirties, while we're at it. the show needs some serious revamping after how badly its been doing, like they've honestly gotta sack the whole thing imo or restructure it entirely. from the premise, to the format, to how the rose ceremonies work, to the dates, and to the expectations of the show: it shouldn't be about finding a wife/husband and being ready for an engagement, it should be about finding love and a potential partner you can trust and want to date after. the final rose should be just that: a final rose; not a proposal, unless they really, really wanted to. but there shouldn't be any pressure on it. and "I want an engagement at the end of this" / "I see my future wife in this room" shouldn't be the expectation & storyline of the show. Bc it's so unrealistic and outdated and absurd. The expectation and premise should be about finding the right connection to build a potential future with, that's all. the ending should be about continuing to explore that connection in the real world, beyond the cameras, one on one. AFR should be a realistic update on how their dating life is going, if they're still together, and what tests they've faced on the outside. it shouldn't be about when they're getting married, if they're still engaged, and if they're going to move in together or have children anytime soon, bc that's all irrelevant and fake.
Devin and Jen have had some of the realest conversations on the show in recent memory. I wish we would have gotten a chance to learn more about the other guys as much as we did about Devin

I think since the show has tanked in recent years, they've given up on certain spoilers and things that can be sussed out. Especially for this season, where the viewership & ratings are lower than ever. The producers must've known, when they were putting it together, that this season wasn't going to be a hit, even more so when they realised how much the audience was rooting for different women as the lead, who they couldn't get. Plus, they've known for a while now that every year the show gets spoiled - mostly by Reality Steve, who apparently has no other job than to be an "exposer" for the Bach franchise, lol. (which is kinda sad, let's be honest) So now maybe they're taking a different approach and just leaving the actual ending as a surprise. (Like not necessarily who she chooses, but what she does.) Bc they've noticed, that no matter what they do, the show just isn't what it used to be, and the ratings keep plummeting every year... So they're not sure what else they can do to keep things interesting at this point, and have kinda put their hands up in defeat. IMO it might be time to sack the entire franchise bc it's so outdated and sexist in nature. Unless they really, really give the show an updo/reformatting and change the actual rules of the game, I don't think this will last much longer. BIP either.
My opinion? I think they should hire an entire new creative team, not just a new host and a "couple new producers" who are trying to change the editing style and add diversity. That's not the root of the problem. The root of the pb lies in the actual format of the show, which is way too out-dated and unrealistic: 1 man/woman choosing 1 candidate out of 30 in the span of 2 months, and having to propose to them at the end. This whole idea of "my future life-long partner is in this room" is such BS, it's crazy, especially when you have 1 night to get to know 25 of them. My thought is, to make it more credible, start w the same number of people, but extend the rose ceremony to 2-3 nights, which increases the suspense factor, and lets us get to know our favorites a bit more before they're booted and we're left thinking "who tf was that?"
Make the first impression rose happen AFTER night one, so that the first episode ends on a cliffhanger, and that the lead isn't picking one person after only knowing them a couple of hours. Bc usually, when the first impression rose is handed out, some people haven't even spoken to the lead yet, which is completely unfair and defeats the point. This way, post episode 1, we - and the other contestants - get to speculate who the lead is going to choose, based on who we think made the strongest impression. And don't make them have the first rose ceremony at 5AM when they're all exhausted, and when the lead is just playing a guessing game at that point, and choosing on the basis of who he/she remembers and had an attraction to, vs who they didn't talk to or left a bad taste in their mouth. (CONT'D - yes this is a very long thread; please just ignore if you're not interested!)
Let them all rest after night 1, after the limo entrances and the cocktail party - and who knows, maybe that way, some contestants will leave of their own volition at some point during this 2 day waiting period, either bc they don't think it's worth it, or they're impatient, or they regret what they signed up for, or simply bc they're not feeling it enough w the lead & don't like competition/being stuck in a house w a bunch of other people. Or even because they feel defeated/dislike who the lead chose for their first impression rose, so they don't want to wait until a rose ceremony to get booted. That in itself creates enough drama and suspense that is natural and unscripted, but also gives the contestants more creative license & decision-making power, which the show desperately needs.
Make the day portion of day 2 simple, a pool party in the Mansion, a la old Bachelor style. So that the fight for the lead's attention happens both in a light-hearted daytime setting where you get to see the more playful, interactive side of the contestants, AND in the night portion, where you get to see the more serious, formal side of them. It also gives the lead - and us - a better sense of what everyone is like amongst the other contestants, and how they interact with each other in a fun, competitive atmosphere, vs in a deeper, more meaningful setting. Did some contestants stand out at the end of night 1 because they were happy to sleep in a house with so many other people, and shared their items w others before bed & were lax about room choices? Were others more reserved and kept to themselves but are coming out more during the pool party? And what does the lead themselves prefer, and where do we get to see them more at ease: during the day in a light-hearted group setting, or at night, with more intimate, serious 1-on-1s?
We'll also get to see which contestants seem more invested in this being a giant sleepover/fun 'vacation time" w friends, vs an experience to find love w the lead? Which contestants seem to be putting on a front to mingle & appear likable vs those who are genuinely uncomfortable in this environment? Who's spending more time competing w the other contestants & being jealous than they are focusing on the lead? A full 2 days in the mansion, as opposed to 1 night, will help expose a lot of these qualities that usually are clouded by how they want to come across night 1. And that are then usually buried in the group dates bc of how lavish they are. Whereas an overnight in the mansion strips all of those layers away, leaving the contestants at their most natural. Who woke up earliest on day 2, who took initiative to cook w others, and didn't overindulge the night before; who is selfishly hitting the gym first instead of maybe making the lead breakfast; who took the longest to get ready in the morning and is wasting their time; who is hogging the shower and not being considerate of others? Did the contestant who got the first impression rose wake up and decide to take a backseat bc they want to give others a fair chance, or have they used it as motivation to be even more aggressive & get even more time w the lead, even though they know they're safe at the rose ceremony? Again, all of these factors will produce way more natural drama that isn't as predictable or boring, and that only needs to be edited to show the important highlights, since it'll span across 2 episodes. (CONT'D)
Post pool party on day 2, there is a cocktail party, and rose ceremony in the evening. And hat's how episode 2 would end, with the lead picking her top 18 out of 25 (or however many usually get sent home after night 1, I always forget lol.) The show would then continue on in this manner, with the trips and usual dates, but with some of them being a bit more low-key so that we can have a smooth progression w the contestants where they don't trauma dump on their first date. The fact that the first rose ceremony would extend 2-3 days will help this, since we'll have seen the contestants in their natural habitat more, up to this point- with more chill conversations about hobbies & interests having happened during the pool party, and deeper convos about values, morals, and family during their 1-on-1s at the two cocktail parties. The show used to do this a tiny bit more before, w the shopping & restaurant/spa/vineyard dates, but they don't seem to anymore. Now the 1-on-1 dates are all really extreme & dramatic, where they involve some kind of thrill-seeking activity, or dining in an ancient cathedral/historical space. Which doesn't help this season, since they didn't even spend any time in LA or in the rented out mansion, before flying off to their destinations. So it didn't give us a chance to see those more chilled out dates, where the group goes camping, or where there is a one-on-one at a fashion boutique that ends up with a laid-back date at a retreat in the evening.
These kind of group dates, and even 1-on-1 dates, allow for more natural conversations, than the hyper lavish, or extreme/competitive ones do. Seeing contestants race or fight each other on a track/in a ring, is much more primal and unnatural, than seeing them vie for your attention at a bowling alley or on a campground where the only way to show your competitive spirit is to help others, be socially aware, and try to make time w the lead. That's why I think the Golden Bachelor did so well in many ways: it brought back the idea of the low-key, normal restaurant date, and of seeing the women in their natural habitat. We got to see how they lived together in the mansion, and who took the most time to get ready in the mornings, who shared beds with who, etc. None of them were trauma dumping right off the bat, and the dates were much more natural (like the one in the diner that ended w a flash dance, or the one in the restaurant. even the tennis group date, which had one dramatic moment, felt more light hearted and natural, bc they were all competing in groups of two. it wasn't one big ass group vs another, and the losing team has to go home.) Like I said, even a bowling group date -- which they used to do -- is more low-key than having them fight each other on a football field or in a wrestling match or even at a wedding ceremony. (which is still super weird, every single time they do it lol.)
The latter activities (wedding excluded, I guess) are hyper primal & animalistic, and serve no good: like in what world is the idea of a partner who shows their affection for you by beating up others, and defeating them physically, a green flag? it's not. And the idea of someone being territorial as a sign of "how much they care" is such a detrimental, outdated notion, it's sad. We are not barbarians, and the lead isn't territory to be "marked" through extreme actions. Same w the wedding ceremony date they do almost every season, but only for the Bachelor - it is so dumb, and unfunny, and tacky, and again, outdated & very sexist. Like in what world are we believing that the lead is actually marrying his final pick? It's so unrealistic & dumb & predictable each season. The humor element they try to implement into a lot of these silly group dates could be done so many other ways than thru something absurd, it's crazy. Like even the farming date in NZ this season; instead of having them herd the sheep like that, which albeit hilarious, was ridiculous bc the contestants are dumb as shit, have them actually just feeding the different animals, spending time w them, petting them, talking to the farmers & asking about their lifestyle, milking the cows, having a picnic on the grass in the end, etc. Don't just show us them shoveling shit and cutting the sheep's dingleberries lol. (Like why didn't we get to see what Devin & Jenn talked about during their 1-on-1 time? Ohhhh bc it's not interesting enough bc it's not trauma dumping? I see...🙄)

I think Marcus & Jonathon are both around 5'11~6 ft respectively, but that Devin is just taller, like maybe 6'3. its always hard to tell w the bachelorette bc the guys are always notoriously tall, which then makes it harder to suss out their actual heights. esp when they stand next to the lead who seems tiny. (altho admittedly, im not sure of Jenn's height but she doesn't seem taller than 5'3, does she? but im not sure if that's cuz she appears super short next to all the guys, even when she's wearing heels.) so it's always hard to tell if the men- as a group- are just a tall bunch, or if the bachelorette is just really short. like maybe, Jenn is actually 5'5, but bc the guys are all in the 6 ft range, she appears much shorter next to them. like I bet you, her ex who appeared tiny compared to the other guys when he came on, is actually like 5'9, but he seemed more like 5'5 bc he was standing next to guys who are all 6 ft & above. then again, her ex did seem particularly short lol. like even in the shots w Jenn, their height difference didn't seem that apparent.... and she can't be taller than 5'5. my guess is she's prob closer to 5'3. (5'4 at most.) so who knows!
either way, altho it seems pretty obvious to us that she's speaking to devin in that promo shot, I do think there's a chance it could be Jonathon or Marcus. (but especially Jonathon if we're using height as a factor, since he's taller than Marcus if im remembering correctly. even more so if we use that shot of them kissing in the rain to gage height discrepancy.) but if it's Marcus then maybe he's standing on a higher platform than her in the shot, which we're unable to see since it's a close up angle. but ofc- given the previews and what we know- it's most likely Devin, bc I don't think Jonathon makes it to final 2 - even tho Im still hopeful there's a chance he does. And I highly doubt it's Marcus, unless the height factor is an optical illusion, like I said before. Altho I guess her telling Marcus he can't propose would make a lot of sense, given his inability to open up emotionally and the fact he may be hiding some things from her. But it doesn't make sense if the reason she's interrupting the person is to propose. So no matter which way we spin it, it seems like it's most likely Devin she's speaking to. Now, whether she's rejecting him or proposing, I haven't got a clue. In my head, it could go either way! Or maybe she's telling him she wants them to date first & get to know each other better. No it has to be about Marcus not her dad. Basically on Reddit everyone was discussing the Marcus SA allegations during the filming of Jenn’s season. Jenn’s brother had a confirmed Reddit account and he caught wind of the rumors after redditors reported it to him. He never approved of Marcus and he was going to tell Jenn. Whether the producers allowed him to talk about the allegations (off camera), we are not sure. But Jenn’s brother talking about a guy not being emotionally available just points to Marcus.

how much devin is crying in that close up shot could be 3 things: nerves for the end/stress that he won't be chosen and that she'll pick someone else since it's the final day, news he got that is upsetting (she's rejecting him/ending things w him or being told by Jesse that she picked someone else or some other upsetting news like their final date has been canceled and he's the only guy left so now he's anxious about where this leaves him & wtf happened), or a difficult conversation between him & Jenn where they're working thru their lingering issues/doubts and deciding whether he should leave or stay till the final rose ceremony. similarly, it could also be a confrontation where she calls him out on his readiness for an engagement and he gets emotional thinking about it bc he isn't sure what he's going to do. this leads her to make that decision for him & hatch her plan she told her mother & Jesse about. or maybe he's just crying on the final day/penultimate day bc everything is getting to him & the pressure is too much & now he's having doubts, as the final 2 almost always do. since proposing to someone is a life changing moment , especially if you think too long about the very real possibility of being rejected & getting heartbroken on national television. im sure that alone could set anyone into a negative spiral/panic attack lol. in any case, I guess we'll see!

I'd honestly be fine with any of the couples doing that. The push to get engaged when you don't even really know each other outside of the show is pretty ridiculous. I know you can have a long engagement, but still.

Whereas with them just continuing to date, they would leave the show with a little less weight on their shoulders.
I know the German version of the shows doesn't do engagements in the finale and from a quick check, it looks like the after-show relationships at least lasted a little longer than in the US version

I really like Jeremy. He always came across as genuine to me. Grant is very good looking, but as someone who is familiar with day trading, I'd say he's gonna make lots or lose lots. And he appears to have issues that need to be worked on. I might be eating my own words in the end, but I think that the Devin crying shot is more of a mental breakdown of doubt from him, probably during the fantasy suite episode. The way he immediately went to "this rose means nothing" when Jenn's ex arrived shows that he's a bit more insecure about his standing with her than he is letting on. So I think when he isn't the first to get a fantasy suite and finds out that Jenn had sex with someone else first, he's not handling the pressure of it being so close to the end well and sits in the room crying. Might be a good bonding moment with one of the other guys who actually talks him down.

he seems like a nice sensitive guy outwardly, and im sure he's well intentioned, but on a deeper level, he seems very troubled and potentially emotionally stunted due to his trauma & time in the army. if you can't express your feelings & be open & vulnerable - and you suffer from severe ptsd like a lot of vets do - you can then lash out in other ways, often physical, bc you've repressed a lot of ur emotions. a lack of emotional regulation that manifests as extreme anger or physical violence is very common in vets w severe ptsd. especially if it's untreated, undiagnosed, or hasn't been given enough time to heal - which is usually years upon years. then again maybe these claims predate his time in the army; who knows! all I know is that depending on the ptsd you've suffered, and violence you've experienced yourself, sometimes you then release that onto others, bc you've repressed your feelings and pain for so long. and that is not ok. quite the contrary, it can be pretty dangerous and heart breaking for the victims who may feel an obligation to stay and "take" the abuse, for fear of being a bad partner. even tho they absolutely shouldn't! so altho ptsd can be an explanation for violence in vets, it is NEVER an excuse.

Rachel’s immediate family does still live in Hawaii, but it doesn’t make sense to fly there for one day for a hometown, then fly all the way back to LA for a rose ceremony the next day. It makes a lot more sense to go there and stay for two weeks to film fantasy suites and final dates.
i asked myself the same thing. and you know joey probably hoped he would get to go back to hawaii but they instead had rachels family fly to LA. they also robbed us of joey uncle joe making an appearance .
anyways ,rachel did say that she had lost a grandam/aunt so maybe her family was in LA already for a funeral or something. or maybe it was just a logistical issue. just like how they filmed Maria's hometown in New York instead of Toronto while they had just left Canada a couple of days back.

I actually think the scene where she says "I can't let you propose to me" is to Devin. just bc of the height ratio. but I do agree, if it's not Devin, then it's def Jonathon. bc Marcus is a bit shorter than Jonathon, so he's least likely to be who she's looking up at. (unless the guy is on a higher platform than her, which is creating an optical illusion) also I can't see Jonathon wearing a white/beige suit for the final day, whereas Devin def could. So again, I really think it's Devin she's speaking to, and not Jonathon. I could see Marcus maybe wearing a white suit, but it's unlikely that it's him bc the height doesn't seem to match up. I really think final 2 should be devin & Jonathon but footage seems to indicate it'll be devin & Marcus, which I think is weird. I would've thought she'd send him home during fantasy suites bc of his inability to open up & meet her where she's at emotionally. It seems blatantly obvious that the only person Jenn is into is Devin. The other men are just filler. They basically have a relationship and the other men are just people that production threw at her for TV purposes. She will literally walk away from the other men on group dates to spend time with him. Sure he initiates it, but she willingly goes with him every time. He is basically her boyfriend already.

(which yep ur right, it's from the same night bc her outfit is the same; good catch!) but the close up of devin crying is prob just from him on the final day bc of his nerves/fear of being rejected. or maybe after fantasy suites he gets in his head and has doubts about where he stands w her compared to the other guys. either way, that scene clearly isn't from the same shot where she's upset and confronting someone; that has to be her talking to Marcus - or I guess Jonathon if he's still there, but less likely. She's calling him out for his lack of transparency and his readiness for marriage, as well as not reciprocating her feelings or being open enough w her, and then sending him home. and her crying in her ITM is bc she's frustrated at how much she cared for him & tried to make it work, and how he wasted her time & didn't love her back & couldn't be honest w her. very much a 'why couldn't he just love me what's wrong w me' moment.

I agree that Jonathon should be next bachelor if we're choosing from this cast of men. at the same time would be nice for them to spice things up and choose someone entirely new/not from the franchise. a fresh face & new start for the show would be nice, after years of low ratings & predictable crap. and maybe pick someone in who's in his thirties, while we're at it. the show needs some serious revamping after how badly its been doing, like they've honestly gotta sack the whole thing imo or restructure it entirely. from the premise, to the format, to how the rose ceremonies work, to the dates, and to the expectations of the show: it shouldn't be about finding a wife/husband and being ready for an engagement, it should be about finding love and a potential partner you can trust and want to date after. the final rose should be just that: a final rose; not a proposal, unless they really, really wanted to. but there shouldn't be any pressure on it. and "I want an engagement at the end of this" / "I see my future wife in this room" shouldn't be the expectation & storyline of the show. Bc it's so unrealistic and outdated and absurd. The expectation and premise should be about finding the right connection to build a potential future with, that's all. the ending should be about continuing to explore that connection in the real world, beyond the cameras, one on one. AFR should be a realistic update on how their dating life is going, if they're still together, and what tests they've faced on the outside. it shouldn't be about when they're getting married, if they're still engaged, and if they're going to move in together or have children anytime soon, bc that's all irrelevant and fake.
