Wow! When I was in the 5th grade, my father took me on a drive to the bridge that went across White River. The lake had not yet started filling. It was just getting dark when we arrived at what I have always remembered as the Kimberling bridge, and I still remember looking up at the big NEW bridge far above us being built and my father telling me that the water would be almost that deep! I hadn't given that day another thought until I saw this video. I grew up on the water of Table Rock Lake water skying, fishing, and yes even learned to scuba dive there. Sadly, after graduating from college, my job took me to California, and I never spent any significant time on the lake again.

I grew up in the Ozarks near Table Rock Lake and Beaver Lake. I remember hearing stories from my grandparents about White River and the area before the Dam was built. I remember asking them about the Old Kimberling City bridge and it's eerie thinking about the many times they drove across this.

Thanks. Shot this video diving on my Halcyon RB80 rebreather, the sounds you hear in the video are what I hear underwater.

Yeap they're kind of scary when you're coming up. When you only have your head out of the water any boat looks huge when they're heading your way

Impressive footage of a historical landmark covered by the lake. Any idea of approximately how much of the old bridge is still intact?

Really cool to see your footage but man this seems like it would be a dangerous dive considering the depth, temperature and visibility.

Us land locked folks are glad to have some place within a 3;hr drive to get wet. The top of that bridge is about 95’. Drysuit is almost second nature here. There’s zero current so it’s not dangerous. Theres a bell attached to that bridge.

Looks like a fun dive! What a cool thing to see down there! I am interested the history of this bridge. Did the new bridge replace this one? Is it in a different location?

New bridge is above it and a little to the East. There’s some good pictures out there on Google showing both

Are you still allowed to drive on this bridge

Why would they just leave the bridge in the water like that

The lake filled faster then expected.

It is cheaper than taking it out. It is 150 feet below the surface and will not hurt anyone down there.

Great vid. Did you see any big fish?

Not on the bridge, fish generally do not live this deep in Table Rock. The top of the bridge is 110ft, old road bed is at 140ft and the lake bottom is around 180ft. On the shallower parts of the dive we will see walleye, large and small bass, and catfish.
