Old Kimberling Bridge Underwater in Table Rock Lake
มุมมอง 18K6 ปีที่แล้ว
The Old Kimberling Bridge was constructed in 1922 crossing the White River on The Wilderness Road in present day Kimberling City. It was the second bridge constructed in Stone County Missouri. Parts of this bridge had to rebuilt in 1927 and 1945 due to flooding. The bridge was under contract for removal in the late 50's. The south span of the 2 truss bridge was removed, the north span still rem...

Wow! When I was in the 5th grade, my father took me on a drive to the bridge that went across White River. The lake had not yet started filling. It was just getting dark when we arrived at what I have always remembered as the Kimberling bridge, and I still remember looking up at the big NEW bridge far above us being built and my father telling me that the water would be almost that deep! I hadn't given that day another thought until I saw this video. I grew up on the water of Table Rock Lake water skying, fishing, and yes even learned to scuba dive there. Sadly, after graduating from college, my job took me to California, and I never spent any significant time on the lake again.

I grew up in the Ozarks near Table Rock Lake and Beaver Lake. I remember hearing stories from my grandparents about White River and the area before the Dam was built. I remember asking them about the Old Kimberling City bridge and it's eerie thinking about the many times they drove across this.

Not on the bridge, fish generally do not live this deep in Table Rock. The top of the bridge is 110ft, old road bed is at 140ft and the lake bottom is around 180ft. On the shallower parts of the dive we will see walleye, large and small bass, and catfish.

This may be the telephone line cable from Indian Point (Branson, MO. prefix "334, 338") to DD Hwy and Talking Rocks Road homes. When I had a land line phone the number was (417) 338-5201 but I did not live in Branson or on Indian Point. My prefix should have been: 272- as in Reeds Spring, my mailing address but... "338" was DD and TRR-where I still live.
