    Valur and Josie Ann, you go to tremendous lengths to keep us entertained! This was awesome! I have actually been in an ice cave in Washington state, but of course it was not as large as this one. What an adventure just to get there! Great videography, by the way, in rather extreme conditions.❤️❄️

    One thing that pulled my attention was that the walls of this cave are totally covered in crazy and capricious ice figures. Is there a river or some water course at the bottom of the cave?
    Wasn’t the bride a little cold (I mean, in that light dress…)?

    All the ice melting so fast worries me...is that normal? Its pretty loud in the background. I'd think in the middle of winter it wouldn't be doing that if its so cold? It's beautiful and that couple will have some pretty special memories did they have any family or friends with them? Maybe they had a 2nd ceremony with friends and family? But man oh man you couldn't pay me to go in there! ok lol, I'm claustrophobic but still... what if there's an earthquake or a cave in? I mean it could happen! Yea I'd rather go to a volcano lol.. at least you won't freeze your butt off. Iceland is such a beautiful place! I mean where else can you go see a volcano and an ice cave in the same place almost! ( ok when ones erupting I mean).

    • @mikerichards6065
      @mikerichards6065 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There is usually a lot of water flowing at the bottom of a glacier caused by melting at the surface finding its way down through crevasses to the base where its relative warmth helps melt these caves. This water might have melted in the summer and only now finding its way to the bottom.
      Though all Icelandic glaciers are melting very fast now as the global temperature continue to rise. The majority of them will be gone within 200 years at the current rate of increase. They might need to rename the country!

    I was wondering how people survived the last ice age? Well at zero degrees in an ice cave as you've shown us and with enough natural light in a glacier above ground, not as impossible as it looks. Though food shopping would have been tough. Valur, how big is this cave? Does it have some geothermal source?

    Though, hindsight is 20/20.
    Perhaps video and stills could have been made without on-location reporting, then news and cave info overlaid. Background noise was quite loud, however, closed-captioning was used.
    What I'm really trying say is camera teams are a precious commodity. Keep them safe. (But, appreciate the zeal.)
