Beautiful! I love the styling of these late 1950's / early 1960's Mopars.

What a beauty, and that face. Nothing like vintage American cars. The styling, their FACES, the character. I hope no customizer ever gets his hands on it.

The taillights always reminded me of the factory, upon completion, they said, oops we forgot the rear lights,
let's stick something on there, so they did. But in the end, they looked good.

"They don't make them like this anymore" is an understatement.

I have to say that overall, I find the 1961 Plymouth an attractive car to look at.

The vacuum leaking from the power booster is also what's keeping the car from starting up more quickly

Growing up my neighbor had a 61 station wagon like that. It was popsicle purple with a violent top.

Absolutely incredible !! The grill, the color, the tail lights. Never know some models/years had four , not five, transmission push buttons. Rolling history........

On those old dodges, if the brakes are grabbing like that, it means that there is a hole in the power booster diaphragm, very dangerous!

Very nice car, I really like that body style. I think the station wagon model is the best looking. That grille style is being used today by Lexus and now Toyota for their new Camry.

I believe the last American car with fins was the 1976 Oldsmobile Ninety Eight.

Vintage cars really do need to be driven. I have vintage cars. It's not enough to drive them for fifteen minutes every day. But if you use them for your daily driver they will transform into a much smoother and excellent running car as when they were new. It always seems to end up being a difficult decision- Do I want my vintage car to run and drive as perfectly possible by using it as my daily driver, thus putting a lot of miles on it? Or, Do I want to keep the mileage low and allow it to be in a semi deteriorated state?

My dad always said the `61 Plymouths were so poorly styled, the taillights looked like two $1.25 flashlights taped to the quarter panels! He was right!

PLYMOUTHS IN CANADA, HAD DODGE CLONES, WITH A PLYMOUTH BODY, INTERIOR AND TAILIGHTS, BUILT IN THE SAME WINDSOR, ONT. AS PLYMOUTHS WERE. THE SUBURBAN, WOULD HAVE BEEN EQUAL TO A SAVOY, CUSTOM SUBURBAN, WAS EQUAL TO THE BELVEDERE AND IF THEY MADE A SPORT SUBURBAN, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE EQUAL OF A FURY.

Back in the day (yes, I am that old) all of the new car models were revealed pretty much at the same time in the fall. It was a huge, highly anticipated event with the cars shown covered, weeks in advance. The day finally arrived and I believe it was on The Gary Moore Show. The man himself pulled the cover off the new 1961 Plymouth and there it was! The ugliest car I had ever seen! Now over the years, I have begun to appreciate its unique styling

I recall those days as well. And cars were covered with a tarp on the carrier, delivered at night, a tiny cut out in the tarp for the driver to see. People standing around hope to see a glimpse. Hidden in the dealership with the showroom windows papered over until the big reveal. Good days.

As a kid I thought this was the ugliest car I had ever seen. They forgot to design tail lights so they bolted on flashlights
