Update: we don’t use reedy fork farm feed anymore, the animals were underperforming on it.

16:26 "How special it is that we as a family are working together to produce something from our land for each other... it's really an amazing thing...". And it is!
Would like to catch a tour of your different garden compartments as they currently are before you set in with fall gardening!

I think I could smell that stuff as soon as the pig started rolling in it.

I am loving and learning so much from your videos! We are working on paying off debt and eventually hitting the road to find our homestead! In the mean time we are working our garden and adding chickens soon to our tiny yard! I would love to see the process Rebekah goes through with your cows milk once you get it from the cows. Cows are something we have never been around and ate looking forward to once we have our homestead! Im a bit confused how she gets the cream and skim for the pigs.

Justin, I go through 2 to 3 pairs of rubber muck boots a year. They usually crack. Does this happen to you?

It is such a pleasure watching the Rhodes Family, whether doing chores, gardening or having fun at the lake. Once upon a time my evening entertainment was the TV but that is a thing of the past, considering the content isn't good anymore. Now your content is family friendly and so enjoyable.

As you look back on the American Farm Tour and all the people and things that you learned and have now applied to your own operation . . . was it worth the time, effort, and travel? Given that you got to spend quality time with your family and the learning experience they got to enjoy. In my opinion, you knocked it out of the park! Just sayin'

We've seen the chicken get out of their cage. Can we see them go in for the night? Just wondering how hard it is.

Best way to find horn worms is at night using a cheap uv blacklight torch as the critters glow like a glow in the dark sticker

I'm envious! Still trying to figure out how it will be to live off one income if I leave work to tend a homestead. Plans in the works though!

I think it's so neat how Flossy is so gentle now. If anyone doesn't remember how wild she was at first, you should go back to watch the older vids when she and Phyllis arrived. I was worried Justin was going to get hurt trying to tame her. But to see her now, you'd never know she was climbing over gates and wild as a buck! I love all your animals, Justin. Oh gosh, tomato horned worms terrify me. 😱 See ya tomorrow.

At my old, old age I learn something new everyday from you and your family. Actually your all a Blessing to me and you didn't even know it. I just hope the young folk watching your videos learn, it's not about money but the love you give out to the family, friends and the world 🌎. Do you understand what I'm trying to say to you
Your way of life is all I ever wanted from my life. Those boys of your will be such loving men to their wives and family. Your just the greatest father . The Love just pours out of you.
Enough said or you'll get a enlarge head.lol.

Part where your pigs ignored the pickles. I know someone that raised hogs and their pigs would never eat cucumbers. Thanks for another inspiring vid!

How do y'all have so many chicken scraps? I really want to start feeding my chickens less crumble and more scraps but we only produce about 3 ish pounds of scraps and that's with freezing food from previous day's with extras that we don't want

  • @rosea830

If your kale has gone this long without bolting, it's well established and it should keep through the winter. Epsom salt and, like Verna Helvik just said, crushed eggshells in the dirt will help with blossom end rot. Sometimes it can't be helped because of all the rain. I love watching those cows, they are thriving and doing so much better than Violet.

Blossom end rot is due to lack of calcium, high cal lime works great add to water and water in.
