Once Daniels gets comfortable keeping his eyes down field when he's scrambling he'll have the opportunity to make some really big plays passing the ball. This will come with time as he learns, and trusts, his receivers getting open for him. I thought Kingsbury called a good game....receivers were open, but the QB can't see them if his head is down running. He'll learn.....he's a bright kid. Great breakdown as always Chase.
@@eddienash2095 depth of target doesn’t mean anything if you can’t be accurate though right? Also couldn’t a team go in scheming up quick passes? I’m pretty sure having a high completion % lends to more success’s
First break down video I've seen, and i love it. Agree he has to throw the ball more. I'm not criticizing. I just want him to have a long, healthy career. #HTTR #HTTC
Glad to see our receivers were actually creating separation. Terry, Eckler, and Ertz looked like they could’ve had several balls. It’s encouraging to see
Yeah watched live and they did call block in the back on zecchaes . Was a really bad call. There was another no call bad face mask on Ekeler spun his head around. Jayden looks like he has a massive upside once he gets comfortable reading defense and throwing the ball.
Been saying he’s better than Caleb Williams. I am an LSU fan and live in Baton Rouge so no bias here or anything. We appreciated you with the saints Chase keep up the good work!
Still cant understand why Robinson didn't get more touches. IMO Kliff did Jayden no favors on Sunday. The OC has to get the ball in the hands of playmakers on offense.
i also notice the commanders rarely do play action and rarely having daniels hike the ball from under the center...most of the time its in shotgun formation
I am interested in seeing the difference between how he handles the bucs D, with all the blitzing, and the giants D line which is supposed to be stout but is blitzing less with Wink gone.
Kid looked good. His feet were nasty & as a passer he was solid. Pass protect was bad & for most part he handled pressure good. Definitely reason to be excited about future. Roster seems light on talent but hopefully they can grow toward something good. We might be another off season before we are playoff team caliber.
At the end of the day 8 or 9 games into last year Jon Allen said Sam Howell was the franchise QB for the next 5 years. He said that in a post game, based on how Howell had played, I believe in a losing effort to SEA. But he had put together 3 good weeks and it looked like he was developing. My point is it won't just take 1 game, 2 games or half the season for Jayden to fully develop. Of course it would have been nice to see him make more 'on schedule' throws in his debut. But like many have said he either didn't see it or simply didn't trust the windows, getting used to the speed etc. If he continues to favor running over on-time pocket passing well into the season, then we can seriously complain. But for now we just have to see how he develops, and by all accounts passing is actually a strength of his.
He has no offensive line, just one offensive weapon, and he's a rookie. They're not going to throw him in the fire in his first game. National sports media has a bias in their coverage so the only time they speak on the Commanders, it has to be something negative. Dude is going to be really good when he figures it out. He's a natural thrower of the ball.
I thought JD played well. He didn’t force anything but he’ll need time to learn defensive schemes. He doesn’t really trust his eyes yet which is fine and it takes time.
You didn’t get to the play where he doesn’t throw it to Terry down field when he was looking right at him. He was terrible throwing this game. Missed a ton. That is just a fact. But, its game 1, plenty of time to elevate his game
Another retired QB ( Joe Theismann ) mentioned that " sliding " head first is actually safer than feet first. Less chance of getting hit really hard as the defender dives for you.
@llevron What Chase saying is that all it takes is for someone to not give a beep and come barreling in, and the first thing they’ll hit is JD5 head. Yeah Tua was looking for the smoke and JD isn’t, but bruh the head-on slide simply exposes him fully.
He missed 2 very easy throws. One to Terry 70 yards TD & to Luke 20 yards. That would have been 274 passing yards, 88 rushing yards & 3 total Touchdowns. He will clean that up as the season goes on and the protection gets better. Washington got themselves a quarterback!
I like how you break things down but I think you made to much of a big deal about his 1st pass. His career is NOT going to be judged off of ONE PASS. I hope you don’t get offended
Can Jayden beat you from the pocket ? Right now he looks like Lamar Jackson and the Kryptonite Achilles' heel of Lamar is that he can't beat you from the pocket.. Hope that's not the case with Jayden !
Deshaun Watson left structure early his entire time in Houston, it’s a nightmare for time of possession and makes the offense very binary, all or nothing stalling drives. Jayden’s arm talent, strength and accuracy is overrated. His ability to go through progressions in structure equally overrated. Either he makes a huge leap in his development or he doesn’t
IM SURE THAT MEANS ALOT TO HIM COMING FROM A LIFETIME BACKUP QB ;;LOL GET A REAL JOB BRO YOUR ABOUT AS GOOD AT THIS AS YOU WERE A BACKUP FOR THE SAINTS LOL
Will Jayden Daniels win Rookie of the year?
Him or Joe Alt!
Yes he indeed will.
Yup yup yup the game will slow down for him he just gotta slide cuz Tua had another episode
Yes
@@steven469I'm a Commander fan! & I agree Joe Alt is a beast 💪 I doubt they give it to a Lineman. #RealTalk

What ? Literally nobody gets open lmao
@@rayhavinn Terry (when not double and triple covered) and Luke were both getting open. Which game were you watching?
Too much was made of his rushing, he also completed 70% of his passes. Thats what national and even local viewers haven’t spoken of enough.
That's a nonsense stat thats why...He was last in the league by a huge margin for depth of target...
Depth of target is overrated. He accurate and can run. They will find an offense to build around him. Oh and he can definitely hit the deep ball.

They indeed called a block in the back at 6:35. I was so pissed
Yep....a ridiculous call.

They did call a block in the back and I think that really turned the tides even though it was early in the game.
You guys look for perfection.
That is kinda the point of studying film
Fantastic analysis Chase! Also, you noticed all the missed calls by the refs!!!!
Appreciate it!

Buccaneers best run defense in nfl. They was getting no push up the middle. I think we’ll see more running game’s coming up

Should I start him or Dak in week 2
Love you Taylor H. You no who I’m talking about 6STRAIGHT = Play every game like his last !
NFL Quarterback is mostly timing and anticipation. The ball just has to come out early than you normally throw it. JD will be fine
They did call that bogus block in the back! 🤦🏾♂️
They did call that block in the back on Zaccheaus too

They called block in the back there just so you know
Chase, I worry about him going to the ground head first rather than sliding. Someone will target him if he keeps doing it
Once the game slows down for him a lil some some it's a wrap. Straight cheat code.
Hey, Jayden can go underneath the defense when he escape the pocket
Man the Bucs had 3 CB’s out that game! We was supposed to take advantage
if he's comfortable with that "tumble" slide isn't it fine? seems like he's doing it safely so far

Tell that to Tua
