I've never seen someone just chilling either inside or outside the pocket the way Cam Ward did all game. Dude had all day to throw but when he got flushed out he was still just scanning the field, cool as a cucumber, not even worried about pressure. Insane.
Yeah, there was that guy named Vince Young, who was just as chilled. I must say though, that Cam seems to be able to read coverages better. Hopefully, Cam can win a natty as well. ✋🏽🤚🏽🏆
Canes fans deserve this! It has been a long time coming. We’ve been through some hard times for 22 years. We were in tears on Saturday. Thank you Mario, thank you Cam and thank you to the rest of the team for working so hard in the off season. Looking forward to the party!!!!!! Let’s gooooooo
The dude has an absolute sidearm rocket. Can’t imagine that this motion or type of delivery could translate at another level up. Including the CFL. But I can absolutely see and agree with some of these comments about him and Heisman candidacy. The kid is a collegiate beast! To b honest I cannot envision ANY college D stopping this kid with the talent and speed of the skilled players around him
Cam Ward should be #1 on the Heisman list, he walked into the swamp and straight destroyed the Gators. It was the best performance and win. Cam is so fun to watch 🔥
Bro, Cam Ward is good but he did not knock Restrepo. The pass was behind, Restrepo is such a great receiver that made that pirouette to save the play and make a catch.
I think the whole throw back against your body is the old way, new QB's are way more athletic nowadays and can make these throws. Some will get picked, but this is how he plays. He legit can make these throws.
We’ve been waiting 20 + years for our CANES to look how they are supposed to! Super happy for those kids and give Mario his props he’s one hell of a coach and has things back on track baby ! The []_[] vs everybody
#84 is Cam McCormick. It was phenomenal to have him catch Cam Ward's first touchdown pass for UM. As for McCormick, yes he's been in school for 9 years. He's had a tremendous amount of adversity and injuries thrown at him during that span. You should look him up. He's an awesome and inspirational guy, and I'm glad as hell that he plays for the 'Canes. Cam McCormick IS a true 'Miami guy!' It's ALL about The U, baby! Go 'Canes! 🙌
He didn't knock Restrepo over, he had to come back midair to make the catch, ball was thrown behind him. Restrepo is amazing, catches anything comes near him Makes QBs look good
I’m AMAZED that Cam wasn’t heavily recruited out of HS, and had to play at Incarnate Word. He looks like an NFL QB already. His arm strength is outstanding, and he can run with the ball like a WR. Made some amazing throws in this game like the roll out to his left, and hitting the WR in the back of the end zone. Just showed amazing poise, athleticism, arm strength and accuracy. He could take this talented Canes team to the playoffs and could compete for a title if they stay healthy.
"knocks him over sideways" lol. Dude, the ball was thrown behind the wr, he was sideways before it hit his hands because he was adjusting to the inaccurate throw.
No brother the throw was accurate. He wasn’t trying to get his receivers head taken off. He sat him down right where he wanted him. Restepo just made a wild adjustment.

For those people who saying he did this against a bad s.e.c team like he come a bad confernce or something wasnt his confernce the runner up for the natty? and they like four teams in the 25 polls at end of the year two of them in the top 10 and he played good against all four of there top teams so top playing like dude come from a fcs confrence the last 2ys and respect the man game
Yeah he nearly beat UW on the road (last reg season game and UW needing to stay undefeated to be in the playoff hunt) and while Oregon beat Wazzu by 2 TDs, Oregon just came off a 3 pt loss to UW and could not afford to lose another game and Cam's Wazzu team was overmatched by loaded PAC12 teams and still kept them in games
This just showed me 2 things. Cam Ward and Miami are even better than I thought and UF is better than ppl are giving them credit for. Other college QBs won't be hitting those throws. UF will beat a lot of teams this year
UF has the hardest schedule in college football and they also have one of the lowest number of portal transfers. The media was concerned saying that every football team has utilized the portal but then his answer was that his players got better. Teams literally moved up the polls because of transfers and the UF coach refused to evolve with the times. I really don’t see them breaking .500. I think this will be their worst record in decades.
Good breakdown Chase, remember you from the Redskins days. In my estimation, you never really got a chance to showcase your full abilities, but 14 years means that you have plenty of memories and connections.
Only one game....don't want to get to ahead of myself....but Cam Ward defo looks like we finally have a good (maybe great QB) in the lineup after decades of not so bueno. The U been down for too long, hope this is the come up. 🙌
Canes fan here, that first pass that Restrepo caught was behind him. That was a great catch though. Cam threw it behind a few receivers, but they caught them.
he's in his 9th year is due being redshirted freshman year, came back got season ending injury in his sophomore - junior year, got redshirted again during his senior year, played a little, then got hurt again. Lastly he didn't think he had enough impact in college to be drafted so he waiting after this year to be drafted and make a significant impact.
9th year… Injuries. Red shirt. And free Covid year… Well played. He’s been hurt a lot. But I love that he never ever gave up on his dream… He’ll go to the NFL after this season. Late round draft. But we’ll eventually be a GREAT college TE coach
I watched the same game: #1 the receiver didn't get knocked down. the pass was behind him and contorted his body backwards to catch it. #2. Florida's D sucked. Ward have better have better foot work to drive the ball in tight places when he goes against a better D. #3 Ward just slowly strolling out of bounds like he's walking to class is F'ing bananas. Espescially in the begining of the game! For who? For what? He could get really hurt if he does not account for a LB in his blind spot and slows down before going out of bounds then gets annihilated. He needs to have better time management. If you're going to run out of bounds - RUN out of bounds. That being said, I gotta say his side arm throws were pretty impressive.
Florida is a SEC team filled with athletes and future pro prospects. That defense is good enough, it's a SEC defense at the end of the day that's just the fact.
where do people get the film to watch? the zoomed in sideline view makes watching film impossible. I would love to watch some all 22. Anybody have any idea?
I never use to be that high on Ward. Just thought hes too loose to succeed in the league. But hes accurate. Great ball placement. Good decision making. And very very decisive, which is a great trait to have in the league. Great natural instincts. Obviously great footwork. Tall enough to see the field. I think he goes before Ewers. Him and Sheduer are probably tued for QB1. I think Sheduer wouldve had success at UM as well, just not as flashy on the field
Sorry, you start the video with Cam Ward knocked the receiver down, When in fact Ward threw behind the receiver. All the praise should be going to the receiver for great catch.
Please don't say "The U is back." I'm a Cane fan through and through but we've heard that phrase tossed around numerous times over the last couple decades and it was never true.
