As a former PAC guy, I introduce you to the Cal Golden Bears, the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde of your league. Every game against them will be a mystery. You will never know what type of team shows up. I'm not a fan, but they can be trouble if you overlook them.
BIg trouble. they are a season wrecker for teams blinded with stars in their eyes.
That Syracuse team especially the TE looked big, strong and athletic.
Not so much the Georgia Tech trenches but Orange were very physical on the edges and the receiver talent. + The Syracuse head coach is 50 Cent, lol.
Cal win over Auburn wasn't even a surprise. California dominated the game defensively. Without much Jaydn Ott, Injuries, missed field goals some fluke calls against Cal & still won.
Even the refs couldn't save Auburn & the SEC from the Hippies.
Cal is good. Defense is plus seven in turnover margin on the year already (they were at the top of the nation in takeaways last season). Come out to Strawberry Canyon and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather; the Golden Bears are poised to make Bear Territory a hostile place for opponents this season.

Basically more than it is not (even in football.)* Since Notre Dame must schedule 5 ACC games per season.
In football, Notre Dame's Tradition & Brand demands they act as an independent.
For CFP purposes Notre Dame is treated like a very special independent G5.
In the Concept of the ACC's "ABC 5" Notre Dame is 1 of the 5 teams that receive the Majority of the ACC's prime time ABC slots. Notre Dame will always bring in ratings. Of course. Notre Dame participation affects strength of schedule and league visibility.

Great job, guys! Most Notre Dame fans are not known for their patience. Freeman's seat is starting to warm up. When Freeman was hired, I said that Notre Dame was making a gamble, because of his lack of coaching experience. I thought that he had a high ceiling, but a low floor, because historically, Notre Dame has not done well with coaches with no head coaching experience. Fairly or not, the meme in South Bend is that Freeman can win "big" games on the road, but can't beat MAC teams at home. Brutal!

Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman is one of the best coaches in America. He will quickly get the Irish back for another amazing season. He's a unifier, a builder of morale, and championship caliber teams. It's not the end of the world. The sky is not falling. The plane just got knocked off course due to some rough and unexpected turbulence.
