This is in Bordeaux, France. Not Paris. Bordeaux is an equally cultured city. However, it's never easy to perform music with an instrument (eg. guzheng) that gives subtle vibrato nuances & fluidity which would be covered up by an amplifier if one plays it on a busy public street.
I'm Chinese and glad to hear you say. that many songs have stories behind them. I think China's great luck is that it has a long history. There are a lot of wealth left by the ancients, which is still used today
