Fiji's 7s player production line is such that once your performance drops, someone is ever ready to grab your position until you can prove yourself again. Taliga is still in his prime age-wise but has been missing a lot of 7s, this is probably why he is not in the current squad.
Yeah. Same happened to several other players like William Ryder etc. I think the player that lasted the longest until he was dropped was serevi. He was finally released from the Fiji team when he was around 40 years old.
Taliga is one player I’d say hasn’t lived up to his full potential. He could have made it big in 15’s like his fellow Olympian buddies but I guess you have to be good on and off the field as well. Now he’s just playing local 7’s tournament in Fiji.
He did so much for Fiji. Ben Ryans mum named her cat Taliga because of how explosive he was.

As first time saw him playing and it reminds me of the great Christian Cullen of NZ in his prime time but so sad to see him miss out in the team...
