Ambi is a legend in the making.....am delighted that so many youngsters are carrying on to enrich the richness of our classical music for the next generations...
Thank you... I needed that today. And, that is a huge compliment!! I believe that's why they awarded:: Padma Bhushan. 'Distinguished service, of a higher order' He is amazing! 😎🇺🇸🙏
So... after 5 months, 32:55 same response as i left below: *here, at this point, they've been playing a while now, Dr Subramanian has just played this beautiful kind of breakdown, and it's just stunning! And, then Ambi begins here at my timestamp above, it sounds loose, and a bit like he's finding his stroke, then boom.* That next few licks are just incredible. Just as awesome as the first time I listened.
No words to describe the skill of this genius called LS. Complete delineation of Raaga Bhahudari. Fully explored through aalapana, neraval and swaram. Great feeling of sowkhyam. Ambi and percussion supporting the Maestro in great style. Thanks for the upload 🙏
WOW!! I'm a violiist/fiddler (been playing since 1961) but I'm nothing in comparison to Subi OR his son OR his brothers. I enjoy all that I've heard members of that family perform,
Indeed, different members of same human family. No matter what. One day we will realize that elites of the world are manipulating us into engaging in active combating against one another for no reason, other than their agendas, and then perhaps we can really have a real swell jugalbandi!!! 😎🇺🇸🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I was showering, my son had just bought me an amplifier (I own 5 guitars... none of which I can say I play as well as Dr Lakshminaranaya Subramanian, Ambi Subramanian, or Lakshminaranaya Shankar.) This song comes on out of auto-play on TH-cam, I'm soaking wet, but then I started really listening... Unbelievable beautiful. Just incredible. 👍😎🇺🇸🙏 I agree, raga bahudari is probably the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.
In the last 3 days I have played this piece a countless times...WFH with this piece playing in your ears, is no less than heaven on earth....Mridangam is just awesome...
Just facinated , the timing, in alapana maily Shruthi , the neravalu , wa wonderful , you are one part in beautifying the raaga and Dr.L Shankar is another side of the coin Wonderful creation by Godess Saraswathi
What a great experience to see Dr.L. Subramaniam and son Ambi expound this ragam. Wonderful duo and also the great mridangam work is a delight to hear. All in a soulful and fantastic experience
Pure class and brilliance!! It's as if each phrase is like a perfect, polished diamond....and strung together....makes it such an enchanting melodic garland!!
absolutely out of the world . I am always fascinated by this raga Bahudari which is so heavenly in experience . The raga also almost resembles the Hindustani JOG which is yet another soulful raga . May be some knowledgeable people here can enlighten us of the difference please .
Years ago the wonderfully talented Jimi Hendrix would take a musical idea and delightfully exhaust all the ideas that could be had in a piece of music. When he really got going he just took off...And when you thought "Well that's it " he would then introduce another derivative of that idea.It was holld your breath stuff !.. I hear a similar approach with this stunning musical family. It is hard to believe how good they are. Wow !..
They are generations of violinists. I believe they extend to several generations. There are several such families. Today in the tiny land of South India. There are hundreds of maestros and they are highly innovative and imaginative. YENUDI MENUHIN HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE AWSOME TALENT OF THESE GENIUSES
33:00 awesome!! I love that movement at 33:18, like a Bach flavor. Drummer's reaction mirrors my own surprise. Whole family, and i imagine their family, etc... *A beautiful light, to make this world more positive.* Thank you.
My grandfather by 20%, Harold L. Keith Sr., Offspring Of Queen Victoria of the U.K., first introduced L. Subramaniam's carnatic violin to me at 13 years of age.
I'll try not to hold it against you, that your predecessors were Queen Victoria, as I myself feel that it's tantamount to saying that your father is the killer of a person you admire for their playing of the violin. An Irish American. 😳 😎🇺🇸
This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but I thought the swaram playing towards the end was more about showmanship on the violin rather than the ragam itself. Others may feel differently of course, no offense intended.
What a masterful rendition ! Not sure how many times I've listened to this.. Here's another masterpiece, from Mysore brothers : th-cam.com/video/Zh8Azx4nvJ8/w-d-xo.html
I could type a lot of things, but words, you know... Fuck my comment, the cool guy on the left, he says it all. About how things could get better, but somehow, a guy predends he's way more able than his kind and so, wrecks the whole show by keeping it for himself. Not even giving a chance to the youngters to be part of it. Shoutout to the guy on the right, or in fact on the real LEFT of the one that was supposed to go further but wasn't allowed to do so. The talented kid had something to share with you, and you just ignored him.
I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT SAINT TYAGARAJA ENJOYING THIS MASTERPIECE FROM THE HEAVENLY ABODE OF LORD SHREERAM.
Ambi is a legend in the making.....am delighted that so many youngsters are carrying on to enrich the richness of our classical music for the next generations...

Incredible father and son team. Very rare to see a son competing (in the right spirit) for his mastery over 🎻

Jog raga has carnatic equivalent nattai ragam. The flavour of bahudari is different sir. Regards
Melodious and scintillating. Beautiful raga and brought out with so much bhava.
My all time favourite Ragam .

A wonderful performance! I’m curious to know if the low D was made for your instruments or if you simply tuned up a standard C. Thank you!
They both play a 5 stringed (probably custom tuned) violin.. so the d string just might be c
Aesthetic
Is there a recording of the full concert? If so can someone share it please? Thanks.
Please upload the thani also

Godly
This is probably going to be an unpopular opinion, but I thought the swaram playing towards the end was more about showmanship on the violin rather than the ragam itself. Others may feel differently of course, no offense intended.
