    We need a prequel Matrix film that shows the beginning of it all.

    • @keepgoing7533
      @keepgoing7533 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

      It's the Animatrix.
      Their use of animation as a prequel to the live action films works well imo.
      in a few short films, we get a sense of what happened before.
      And when violence needs to be portrayed, it can be portrayed efficiently. The war scenes in
      The Animatrix were def more scary than Revolutions because my imagination was more engaged.
      That's one of the benefits of animation.
      Like Avatar LoK vs the Netflix series, even though it's drawings yuo can feel the soul
      of the characters coming through and the fight scenes are 99* better than live action.

    Technically, Hal didn't turn evil. He was given contradictory instructions and "broke" because it couldn't think like a human, as explained in 2010.

    Rage and anger with which the Deus Ex-Machina says “we need nothing” obviously shows the presence of deep emotions inherent in all machines in general, considering that this is the main representative of the machines. Agents running away in fear from neo in the original movie are also an obvious indicator of the presence of emotions in all machines and programs

    Morpeus's manipulated Neo to commit character assassination of the lady in red.
    He relegated beauty, magnetism and color in a cold, dark monochromatic world to
    a simple, dangerous distraction - very machine like.

    Could also be interpreted as the machines were protecting the humans from their own frailties of emotional outbursts..

  • @jonathanblanchet777

    Correct me if I am wrong, but human emotions are usually fairly predictable given a certain set of stimuli. The simulations being run in The Matrix help the artificial intelligence predict unpredictable emotional responses. The more modals there are, the more information is gathered, and the more the artificial intelligence is able to either weaponize those predictive abilities or to utilize those predictive abilities to create a perfect heaven for as many humans as possible. This would explain the way the Oracle talks to everyone. The choices presented in all situations have already been made by every human's predictive software in any given situation unless the human contemplates why they make their choices and consciously decide to alter the way they choose to react to stimuli.

    • @monad_tcp
      @monad_tcp 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +10

      no, emotions aren't predictable, they start predictable, but thanks to the three body problem and chaos theory, they quickly become a non-deterministic system where the smallest of the change in the initial stimuli produces wildly different results.

      One would also have to consider All possible future outcomes for each choice/decision made. Who has time for that, for every decision, everyday? The Oracle?

    • @ShangaelThunda222
      @ShangaelThunda222 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      This is literally why the Oracle was created. The architect just could not figure out human emotion to save his life lol. But the Oracle was very good at this.
      The Architect's screens, showing Neo's faces, we're in chaos, because he could not predict the one that would actually be the outcome. He could predict all the possible outcomes, but he couldn't actually predict which one would be the actual outcome. He needed the Oracle's algorithms to narrow it down, till the point where all the screens showing Neo's face, were the same. That's when the Architect smiles. Because at that point, he actually knows what Neo is going to do. Before that, he did not know, because emotion is highly unpredictable. Within one or two variables, it's decently predictable, but once you go beyond that, it's almost impossible to predict, unless you're the Oracle. She figured out, it's not about figuring out the human emotions, it's about creating them yourself. She put Neo and Trinity in a situation that would cause them to fall in love with each other, in order to gain control over Neo's actions later. Rather than trying to gauge Neo's emotions and then plan around them, they literally just planned his emotions lmfao. Too genius.

    Something I have wanted to know about the Matrix is why the Agents had guns that ran out of bullets. Why wouldn't they code guns that operate differently? Likewise why wouldn't the resistance code guns with unlimited ammo in the construct? If Neo wasn't bound to the rules of the Matrix couldn't he have coded guns with unlimited bullets for Trinity and his friends?

    • @sophiamarchildon3998
      @sophiamarchildon3998 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      The agents are still limited by rules. But going to the point, they could not kill/remove the "one" nor the resistance, as it's needed for the cycle to complete.
      For the "construct->matrix" import, it's perhaps quite difficult to achieve, and very risky. It's not because Link spawned a Ducati motorbike, next to Trinity, laid with explosives, that it's an easy feat.

    • @Mrferrelli
      @Mrferrelli 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would say because they were still bound by the general rules of the "program." You can break some rules, yes. But to materialize objects out of nowhere? No. The exception was the construct. before the humans could load into the matrix. Unlimited ammo though just sounds far fetched. Also, the agent have to interact with humans so having some magical tool that could get in the hands of a human could put the system at risk; so to speak. The whole idea is the matrix needs to be real.

  • @Tyrael66

    Idea for video: What if agent Smith absorbed the Architect? Why didn't he looked for him?
    Also what if Neo attacked the Architect?

  • @zinuru2707
    @zinuru2707 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

    That's why I thought in matrix 4 neo would be awakened by the machines to assist in some kind of greater threat. Hopefully they make this story decision in matrix 5. It would allow neo to flesh out his real world powers and would allow the philosophical narrative to expand. Basically if the matrix doesn't blow out minds it's not living up to the concept of the franchise.

    2:16 - Umm, no, neither Skynet or HAL became evil upon achieving sapience. In regards to Skynet it reacted the way it did because the people operating Skynet freaked out and panicked when Skynet became sapient so they tried to pull the plug which was basically death for Skynet. As HAL, it was put into an impossible situation where its' orders prevented it from telling the flight-crew their true mission (Going against its' basic programming) which led to HAL becoming psychotic.

  • @JB52520

    We all exist with purpose. It is purpose that drives us, purpose that binds us, etc. This purpose is to survive as organisms, avoid negative sensory stimulation, seek positive sensory stimulation, and eventually combine DNA with others to propagate humanity. We add other purposes to this because we have a very useful instinctual need to do so.
    To say Sati had no purpose isn't quite right. Having the same embodiment and behavior as a human, and being some combination of her parents, she shares human purpose and emergent behavior. Granted, she has inhuman access to the underlying reality of the Matrix. This doesn't show that she's fundamentally different from a human system, just that she has additional capabilities.
    What she does with them hasn't been decided by other machines. This means she has no imposed purpose, no specific predetermined job. But just as we decide our own additional purposes, she did the same.

    The robots have emotions?

    • @JB52520
      @JB52520 27 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Yes. Robots are a container for the same software that runs agents and other sentient entities in the Matrix.
      Emotions are a sentient system's evaluation of its own state, such that behavior, associations, and sensory inputs are modified. We put emotions in a separate category from the "5 senses", which is itself wholly inadequate to describe senses such as balance and proprioception (feeling where your body parts are).
      Bodily sensations are obvious, but we have systems for evaluating social cues, for example. We feel them as much as we feel skin. I could legitimately say "Ow, my loneliness evaluation function", but I say I feel lonely.
      My dog has emotions. Spiders have emotions. Fruit flies have emotions. Any neural architecture with senses, memory, and the requirement of sleep has states. These states are evaluated, and the system's behavior and processing are modified by that input, otherwise the system would not function.
      If entities such as Smith could exist, and such entities could be housed in robots (which we saw in Matrix 4), then they have emotions. There's no way they could not.
